This is our third time around with Argenta and setting up a system. I think most people think…read morethey're just a home theatre shop, but they also sell 2-channel systems and offer a lot of great options for equipment. I previously worked with Justin on the setup of our home theater, and they did a stellar 5 star rating on that job. It still sounds and works really well. For this project we wanted a new 2-channel setup and Justin worked with me all the way. He talked to me on the phone and over text about my options, during business hours and even after business hours. He has a real passion for 2-channel systems, so can talk about it forever and offers a lot of insight into what one needs based on room, budget, preferable sources, etc. Justin and Declan came up to our house and did the install over the course of a few hours and it was amazing. I can't say enough good things about their care of the equipment, our house, and the detail they showed in setting everything up and then measuring it. You really cannot go wrong with them. If you're looking for a home theater or 2-channel system I would start by giving Justin a call as chances are he will be able to find a solution to your needs and offer great insight. You won't regret working with him or his team.

I am just writing this review after having two projects (about 4 total days of work) - my wife and…read moreI moved out to Salt Lake City recently and the house we purchased was not wired at all. Tanner with Argenta was excellent at planning a way in which to wire ethernet and fiber throughout the house in a way that was minimally invasive. We also had speaker wire routed from existing speakers to a central location in the garage (along with the ethernet/fiber) with Sonos Amps, along with your typical TV/speaker mounting. The planning process was very smooth and excellent communication throughout. Tanner is a standup guy, very knowledgeable (even figured out a great small TV to fit in our kitchen perfectly). In addition, we had Starlink setup as a backup ISP given Comcast's inconsistency. Specifically on the install work, Tanner C (different Tanner) aka "TanC", and Ray, were my primary guys for all the onsite work. These two are rockstars, efficient, incredibly clean (no mess left whatsoever), smart (I only have to say things once and they just "get it") and are excellent at their craft. They really can work magic with an existing home, and went well beyond my expectations. If you have an existing house, I highly recommend these two (and obviously Argenta does new builds and I'm sure Tanner is great as a project designer for that as well).

After reading his reviews we called Kenyon and asked him to come out and give us a quote. He was extremely polite and agreed to come out the following week. The morning of the consultation we received a text letting us know he had a sick child at home and would need to come later that day. We let him know that was not a problem and we rearranged our schedule as needed. Kenyon came out to our home, reviewed the project with my husband, gave us estimate while he was there and let us know he would send a quote via email later that evening. Based upon the estimate he gave us while in our home we were expecting a certain price however when we received the quote it was quite a bit higher than anticipated. My husband let Kenyon know that the quote was higher than we were expecting and more than we wanted to spend on this project so we were going to pass on his services. Kenyon was extremely kind and let us know that he would hate to lose a client based upon a small price difference and he would be willing to complete the project for the cost we had expected based upon the home visit. We agreed and scheduled the installation for the following week (10/26). On install day we received the following text message from him: "Sorry for the late notice, but I've had something come up that needs my attention. Can we reschedule our meeting/install to the first part of next week? We've had a family emergency and I need to leave town. Please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks and sorry." We responded and let him know that rescheduling was not a problem and we hoped everything was okay at which point we rescheduled the install for the following Monday (10/31) at 10:00am. Two hours before the installation was scheduled to occur we received the following text: "After much consideration, I am going to respectfully decline to move forward with your project. I am very sorry for the late notice. I appreciate your patience the past week. I am simply moving my career and focus in a different direction. Thank you for reaching out to me." While Kenyon was very polite in all of our interactions, in the end we waited two weeks and had every single appointment rescheduled to end up in the same position we started in - TV still in the box and not mounted in our home. If you are searching for someone to professionally mount your TV I would recommend trying another company.

Understand that Control4 only provides the software for whole house or partial "smart" home…read moreinstallations. It assumes no responsibility for appliances connected to its system. The competency/incompetency of any Control4 installation is wholly dependent on the audio/visual contractor, according to Control4. If your contractor fails to provide competent service, indifferent instruction as to how to use the system or simply ignores calls for service you are essentially on your own, though Control4 does provide some assistance telephonically. Local dealers are hit and miss resources and slow to respond. The remote provided is an antiquated piece of junk, that does not unify the system installed. An example is unifying Apple TV with a cable system. Closed captioning on Apple tv requires an Apple remote and Netflix requires a different process. Incorporating the control devices to the entertainment appliances is accomplished with all the sophistication of electrician's tape. Control4 system users should also know when changing cable boxes, removal of the "bud" sensor to Control4 and re attaching it to a new cable box can disrupt the Control4 remote from TV control, requiring the cable remote to change channels and other features, as well as another service call. Perhaps in the hands of a competent contractor the system will behave as advertised. However, life with the system hasn't made home entertainment easier, so much as an overly complicated, fragile experience that we wish had never been installed at considerable expense.

The equipment is very expensive and requires independent 3rd party "approved" programmers to do anything, make even the slightest change, or update non-existent drivers/software updates. I purchased the system 3 years ago and wanted to share my experience and hopefully save some potential new customers a huge headache. They are not compatible with Chanberlain or Liftmaster garage doors as well as Honeywell Thermostats. I have been with 3 different 3rd party programmers in the Atlanta area and find them all to be unresponsive at best. There are many areas of the system that do not work well and unless the 3rd party programmers are selling you new equipment they will not help. I thought I did a lot of research, but apparently not enough for the investment I made and the reliability of the equipment.
