After several visits to AVI purchased a pair of Klipsch Forte IV's and had a great experience. AVI is the only Klipsch Heritage dealership in Utah and have a great selection of the Heritage line. Jim the owner and Jeff spent a couple of hours going through the Heritage line with me and advising me on the best speaker for the size of my listening room. My living room is small and the Forte's were a great fit with outstanding sound and the just the right amount of bass. But with all of that being said probably the best compliment about the Forte's is that my wife said "What a difference in sound and she could hear instruments that she could not hear in our previous speakers (Buchardt A500's). At best AVI Systems is lacking in customer service skills (rude, aggressive and defensive about their poor communication). I just went to pick up a speaker from them that broke (it's for a local business, and was under warranty, but initially they tried to tell us it wasn't and upsell us on another product). They dropped the ball all week on managing expectations (promising the product would be overnighted, but it took several more days to arrive while they offered empty promises or ignored our pleas for information altogether). While I'll admit our company has been annoying with follow up (again, mismanaged expectations and lack of communication on AVI's part while our business was suffering), they were ready for a fight when the product finally arrived and I went to pick it up. I hadn't been communicating with AVI until now, I was just asked to pick up the product on behalf of the business. Now, I wasn't aware there would be a $95 service charge when I came to pickup, and I questioned it (I've never dealt with a company that charges to diagnose their product's issues if they fall under warranty). Immediately after questioning the fee the Lady employee (owner? manager?) became emotionally charged and rude, glaring at me and raising her voice defensively. I was willing to pay so I could move on with my life but they only accept card/cash, and all I had on me was Apple Pay. Again, the female employee was very aggressive and refused to offer any alternatives for me to pay, holding our package hostage unless I paid the fee (which I was willing to pay even though I disagreed with it, but they wouldn't send the business an invoice or offer any other alternatives). I was uncomfortable with the lady's unhinged behavior, as she continued to glare and raise her voice at me. She was storming away with my package (again, why the hatred? I still don't understand why she was so emotionally charged) when an employee that we'd been working with directly came in and magically had a Stripe machine that I could pay with. I'm not sure why that woman was so suddenly aggressive towards me, but I hope she and AVI Systems is embarrassed for her behavior. In conclusion, AVI has severed a relationship with our business by shattering our trust in their product and goodwill, their lackluster/deceitful communication and my experience with their aggressive employee. read more

Jim really helped me get a wireless sub kitcand took the time to find the right one. Then when I had probs getting it running I stopped by and he explained everything in detail, got me the right cables so I could take back the ones I overpaid for at Bestbuy. They charge $100 an hour (according to Kevin) and are to busy to help a customer they charged $200 to hook up a system that was already hooked up to DirecTV and was just needed to be hooked back up to dish since the dish technician couldn't figure it out. I've worked for dish for 8 years and have never heard of a corporate technician referring a customer to a local audio and visual company which dish techs can't do, my guess is the dish tech figured they could make some extra quick cash because I have a feeling I know who the dish tech was. They took advantage of some elderly people who had money and didn't know any better. Do not do business with this company! And with these reviews I'll make sure I get that $200 refunded for the 2 hours of work supposedly performed. Caveat emptor! Unfortunately the experience of doing business with AVI was one of the worst, if not the worst, customer service experience I ever had. I purchased both dysfunctional equipment that was never replaced (carbon monoxide detector) and was disappointed with the turnaround time for programming and constantly received the run around. In addition, AVI did not want to swap out the tv I purchased for a larger unit cause they inappropriately claimed the tv was a "special order piece" and not returnable. Huh? That's a new one! Anyways, the owner consistently ducked my requests for service once they were paid. Horrible!!! I want this system out of my house & every penny I spent back. Pretty much everything (outdoor lighting, speakers, internet, cameras ect ect....) has not been working properly since the first few months. Every time you call them for help the person who can help you isn't there & then he never calls back. Then we give up after a few weeks, call back & then receive the same song a dance again. This time though they want $100 to come out & look at it......SERIOUSLY!!! The location where all the wires are is a nightmare & I couldn't even begin to try to fix anything. I was building a new house and had them install Cat 6e cable and conduits. If you don't know, conduits would allow me to upgrade my network cables to cat 7, fiber, or something else by allowing the cable to be in a "pipe" instead of drilled through and stapled to the studs. I paid for the cat 6 and for the conduit. They installed both side by side instead of putting the cat 6 into the conduit. So now, for $250 a pop, I have several empty conduits in my house and cat 6 drilled through the studs next to them. When I told AVI about it, they said it was my fault for not specifying that I wanted the cat 6 in the conduit. Which I found odd, since I told the sales guy why I wanted the conduit and we discussed the cat 6 and conduit at the same time. read more
