From the moment he saw my bag, his attitude was extremely disrespectful. He even made a condescending comment questioning whether the bag was actually leather, even though the specific area he was going to repair is genuine leather. The next day, I decided to cancel the service and pick up my bag. What should have been simple turned into two trips because the owner wasn't there, and the employee initially refused to return my deposit, claiming he didn't have access to the cash box. I had to come back for the second time before finally getting my money back, and even then, the attitude was even worse. I'm glad I trusted my instincts. Please avoid this place. I had one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with a business. I brought in a bag and prepaid to have the strap sewn back in to match the other strap. When I returned to pick it up, I discovered they had glued the strap onto the outside of the bag, which is not what I asked for. I left the bag there and was told to come back in two hours and it would be ready. I returned three hours later and was told the person who does the work never showed up. There was no phone call, no update, nothing. At that point, I said I would just like a refund and my bag back. They refused and told me only the owner could issue a refund and he would not be in until the next day. I explained that I did not even care about the refund anymore and I simply wanted my own property back. The employee refused to return it, ignored me while helping another customer, and insisted he needed to call the owner first even though the service I prepaid for was not done. He continued to dismiss me while holding onto my bag. I had no choice but to call the police. The officer had to get the bag from the employee because he would not give it back to me, even though it is my property and the work was not completed. After Leo quoted me a price that all new shoes. I decided to only get 2 repaired. Although still extremely expensive I decided to proceed. I dropped them off on the 6th, with a promise from Leo that my shoes would be ready by the 11th. I needed 1 pair for my sons' graduation on the 12th. I wore something else instead. I tried to pick them up this past Saturday. They were closed. I tried on the 25th, after calling and looking up business hours. I drove over from Culver City only to find they were closed, and a note with new hours. In addition, a noted stating they would be closed 6/30-7/5 for the holiday. I came back on the 26th. No Leo. The ladies that were there could not find my shoes. After a detailed description they found them. Nothing at all had been done to one pair, so I took those and asked for the difference to be refunded. I was told that only Leo could give refunds and he wasn't answering. You could tell this was routine for the one young lady. The 2nd pair that was promised on the 6th he had started. They looked horrible. I was going to leave them for him to finish, but having my shoes held hostage for 2 more weeks, no guarantee that I'd ever see them again, and the oversized, incorrect heel end that he had attached made me go back in and rescue them. I left my number, but have not heard from anyone. And yes I got the same excuse others on this site got months ago about the machine not working. So that's what we waited, and we were finally given our shoes in assorted paper bags. This place advertises the cleaning of Louboutins, but LET ME TELL YOU, I would not trust them with my Vans. And so, I've learned my lesson - always Yelp a place before you walk in. Also, don't trust a place that has shoes in Ralphs and Trader Joe's bags. Or 805 boxes (yes, the beer). I had a very complicated alteration of a pair of Prada shoes for a formal wedding. My feet are very narrow (tmi) and consulted with Leo and Erik. They raised the footbed with some special leather they ordered and made alterations to the shoes (some while I was there) to make them fit and comfortable. The shoe alterations were perfect and just what was needed. I had gone to them before, for other alterations, and they were great, hence I went to them again. They really went above and beyond and I could not have been happier with their artistry. They had previously repaired a sole splitting from one of my tennis shoes, zipper on a boot, and rivets on a snow boot. Would recommend them 100% read more

The young lady who is usually there is very pleasant and helpful, however, the rest of the operation is questionable. I left some leather slippers for re-lining. Just after the due date I went in. She said, "Did anyone call you?" No, I replied. The repair would be delayed because they didn't have the right thickness of suede they needed. This seemed perfectly reasonable, but I wished someone HAD called me. This happened two more times. No slippers. No calls. Finally, after about two total weeks, I called and the slippers were ready. I paid $140 to have the spinner wheels in my high-quality, well-made Delsey carry-on luggage replaced. They assured me they could do this, no problem. This time I took in my purse and wallet and the young lady took my items and said she would call me with the price. She called me and told me $55.00 for both the purse and the wallet. When I get there to pick it up, another girl tells me $120. She said $55 and then 2 other numbers written on top of the ticket of $30 and $35. I said no that is not right.. it was only $55.00 I would never have done it for that price. I could have had it done for free but because of Covid I would have had to wait longer and I chose to pay the $55.00 for convenience. I asked her to call her father and she called him and did not let me talk to him, and then hung up with him and said I must have misunderstood. Also, their hours are extremely limited. Unless you can get there over your lunch hour, forget it. They don't open until 10 a.m., they close at 5 p.m. and they're not open on Saturday or Sunday. Really nice workers but really awful job on the repair. I'm not one to usually leave a bad review but the results from this place were pretty upsetting. I brought in a leather bag to repair the straps and it was returned to me looking incredibly ugly and the workmanship was very amateur. They sewed over the inner lining when they said they would go under it to resew the straps. The straps were originally adjustable and they bolted them so they can no longer do so. The straps are also tied at the bottom and very uneven. Would not recommend this place to anyone. My mom had a purse repaired here too with similar results. read more

I've taken my shoes here for a few years, mostly because I was too lazy to find another place and this guy is on my way to work. For prices, I don't really have much to compare. How often do people get their shoes repaired? Nowadays, perhaps more often :( There did seem to be a little bit of upselling to go from a shoe polish to "conditioning", which I paid for and still don't know what I got for the extra $. However, I took a bunch of my wife's shoes in to have them repaired. On one pair, I asked the owner if it made sense to repair it or to just buy a new one. His cost for the repairs was $50. He said a new pair would cost $100 or more. The shoes were SAS. So I told him to go ahead and repair it. The job was fine, but then I searched online for the same shoe on Zappos and a brand new pair was $55. I'd much rather just pay the $5 more and get her a brand new pair! I felt lied to! Another time I brought in my Picolino's which were inexplicably shredding my shoelaces. I was having to replace the laces about once every two months! So he "repaired" the shoes. But the shredding is only diminished - I'm picking up a new pair of laces every 6 months now. Still not acceptable! So I went to take them back. The sign says they open at 8:30am. Sometimes they do open at 8:30am. Sometimes not. Sometimes they close down the shop to go on vacation.
