As I was checking out they told me to bring in my old boots and they would clean and oil them for me, and change out the laces - no charge. Just picked those up today and they look fantastic. I added some of Rid Wings Anti Fatigue orthotic footbeds, and these boots are wear all day comfortable. The customer service was outstanding. I was provided a Red Wing voucher for my new position at the City. I checked Yelp to locate the closest store and opted out for the Torrance one since it has better reviews than the Long Beach store... glad I did! The store is located off Hawthorne Blvd and has plenty of parking. Right when I entered, Joannah immediately greeted me. She quickly asked what brought me to the store, and I told her about my work voucher. She looked it up in their system, and she provided me with information on the boot options I'm required to purchase. There are plenty of boot selections, and I was able to pick mine immediately. Joanna measured my feet and arch using their digital measurement. I was impressed with the arch measurement because Joannah provided me with a footbed that would accustom the boot and my feet. Happy feet! Value wasn't a question since my work is paying for it. But Red Wings are typically priced on the higher side because you're paying for quality and the shoe/boot's ability to get rewelt one day. My father-in-law always boasts about Red Wing and tells me that he has a pair that lasted ten years until it needed to get rewelt. All in all, my Red Wing instore experience was excellent. I have a wide foot with a high instep. I had been told that the stores foot analyzer would be a springboard for finding a shoe that would fit me. To my utter dissatisfaction the service rep was either unable or unwilling to provide me with any advice on their shoe selection based on my foot dimensions. Additionally, of the three shoes I selected only two were available in the size I was provided both were so off my shoe size I could not even get them on. After struggling to try on the third pair the service rep was told by one of his coworker that the shoes I had selected would not fit my foot due to their style, exactly the information I had been trying to get! After a brief conversation where I attempted once more to explain what I needed help with, I decided to leave the store without purchasing anything. I am not sure exactly why the service I was provided was so radically different from other people's experience, but I would not recommend going to this store if you have a non standard foot style. read more

They give out free boot laces, and also condition the boots for free whenever you drop them off. Usually it takes a few minutes to do if they are not busy. I rarely write reviews but this place was awesome! Shelby was the staff member who helped me out. They were attenuative, perceptive, and kept asking how important parameters of the shoes I was trying on felt so that they could make recommendations (heel slip, feeling on the toes, etc). I came in with a corporate voucher but forgot to print it out or bring my badge but they were able to work it out nonetheless. When I ultimately picked a shoe and they didn't have it in size at their store, they checked the culver city inventory and told me to go there! Oh yea, I walked in close to closing and they didn't mind staying a little past, despite me insisting I can come back another day. I highly recommend the store! read more

A few weeks ago at 6p on a Sunday I visited the store to buy a pair of work boots, and received the worst service on record. The "salesman" didn't pay attention to me, didn't listen to the questions I had, told me I was wrong when I said what size I wear in men's and worst of all he put somebody on the computer when they were there to just buy insoles! If he had helped me properly then all of my questions would have been answered with the machine. I have never been so incensed on a shopping trip, especially when I was willing to drop $250 on a pair of shoes. After hearing him tell the insole guy about his "high arches," I put on my shoes, picked up my purse, and walked over to him. I explained how infuriated I was, that he should have put me on the computer from the beginning, and then I walked out. I will NEVER go back to this store, and I'm not sure if I want to go to another Red Wings store at all. If this guy is employed there that concerns me with what other employees may be like.
