Definitely glad I got ahold of this company. Sean was very thorough in explaining the whole process on what I needed and or wanted but didn't try to upsell me on anything. Which is always a nice touch when dealing in home theaters. I've had most try to convince me of something I know I will NEVER need or use or know how to use it. I am not that technologically advanced. Sean was patient and was fast with his install. I had some quotes and bids that I thought were fair but when compared to Lamorinda Home Theater, were outrageous! I understand you pay for quality but when you are looking at double to triple the charge, its absurd! Sean is more than qualified. And Sean really loves what he does! You can tell in the way he explained everything. I've never seen so much passion. You guys are really missing out on quality service at a more than reasonable price. Ted set up our system in our new home. There was some things already in place. He came out and made suggestions. He gave us multiple options. I had just bought a few things, which he made it all work together well. It took 2 days. Everything works great. All his suggestions worked out great. What's more important is that even months after the installation he is still available anytime I call him with an issue. He's very knowledgeable and honest. He gave me a detailed line item of everything he was recommending. I looked each one up on amazon. His prices were only a bit more (on a couple of items, most were the same as Amazon). Initially I was going to order the receiver from Amazon. I'm glad I didn't make that mistake. The receiver wasn't working well, but since I purchased it from Ted he replaced. I didn't have to worry about returning it myself. Then having Ted come back....as you can imagine it would have been very inconvenient! Now I'm going to have Ted come expand my system. Update....I've needed Ted a couple of times since the installation and each time he has made time to come out quickly. Almost 2 years after initial installation I can still count on getting the same great customer service. This review is long overdue. We hired Ted to help us pick an entire media solution for our house. We have a fairly complicated setup with multiple zones, devices, etc. After listening to our needs, Ted picked out all the equipment we needed. I was most impressed with Ted & his helpler's installation expertise. They were meticulous and left everything spotless! The real kicker is the timeframe Ted did all this in. We were in a panic because house guests were arriving in 2 week's time and it was a holiday week to boot. After losing some precious digital photos and data due to a crashed PC, my wife and I wanted a simple, cost-effective storage solution that would integrate with our various computers and laptops (both PC and Windows). JR Sound & Video did a great job rewiring my whole house with CAT 6 high speed Ethernet. I now have fast broadband to all my rooms. My network is blazing. ~The key element here is that the owner designed the whole system proving all the options upfront on what the best technology today can provide. Without this expertise I would be lost. I can now chop and change my broadband from Cable company to Phone company to Satellite company with one entry point into the house that disperses my broadband through out the house. ~The phone company can no longer hold me to ransom with their high monthly prices...They have dropped their pricing down from $75.00 per month down to $29.00 because they know I can leave them. ~JR helped me design my own private cloud that hangs on my network with Buffalo RAID NAS (Network Attached Storage). I can view HD movies,music,pictures now from anywhere in the house. I can now view my pictures,music anywhere in the world on any computer and via my android and iphone....stuff that I did not think possible. This was so inexpensive as you leverage your wifi in house most of the time so no extra charges. ~I got my sound system upgarded also...I still don't understand how they did not rip open the walls to get the speaker wire through to my celing..mind boggling! Needing to revamp our outdoor sound system we put the word out and were referred to Sean as the man to go to for all of our AV needs. Sean was very professional when meeting with us to discuss what type of sound experience we hoped to have when out enjoying the backyard. He was also extremely knowledgeable about different systems and familiar with logistical requirements. Once we decided on replacing our old rock speakers with new ones connected to an internet sound system, Sean was also great in working within our budget. We originally were set to go with a certain speaker but Sean really heard our concerns about sound quality and wanting a nice, clear bass and upgraded us to larger, better speakers at no cost to us. We also originally decided on the Grace Audio system but it wasn't supported by our current computer system for whatever reason so we again were upgraded to the Sonos system which is truly awesome! Sean's installation of the speakers and wiring (run through great distances in our backyard) was impeccable. The wires are all neatly tucked away as are the speakers. No one really seems to know where the sound is coming from! Finally, the time came for Sean to turn on the system and walk us through the Sonos controls (which are now housed on every ipad, iphone, or mac laptop in our house). He made sure we understood the system and were happy with the overall experience. We now make it a point to go outside every day and enjoy the music....really great sound and so easy to use. JR Sound & Video did an unbelievable job, surpassing my already high expectations that were formed by the glowing Yelp reviews. Ted arrived at my house (on time), surveyed the situation, and explained how I could add a flat screen television behind where the current projection screen comes down from the ceiling. And he said he could do this without doing expensive cutting into the wall. I was skeptical, but Ted and team did the job perfectly! Not only did they do that work, but they also buried unsightly speaker cords into the crawl space at minimal extra charge. Another thing is that Ted truly had my pocketbook in mind; he was not seeking to make margin on the hardware I needed and encouraged me to get it myself if I could get a better deal. The bottom line is that I have never in my life had a better experience with a service provider, as Ted and team provided the rare combination of technical excellence with a reasonable price. read more

Truly, you are buying Ted's creativity, taste for the esthetics, his problem solving abilities, and his uncanny ability to make a complicated process simple. The most important thing I got from Ted was his patience. The reason why I say this is because I decided to get a standard universal remote for $395 rather than the more robust and versatile remote that Ted was recommending (just to save a few bucks). You see, I have a pretty complicated set up, with multiple zones (indoor/outdoor) and I thought that a standard remote could handle everything. If I had purchased a more intuitive remote, the programming time would have been less, but unfortunately I didn't. So Ted took his time to program the remote, went over every little step multiple times, went over every programming scenario, and he got the remote working perfectly! I don't think I'm overstating or exaggerating when I say that his work is masterful. If you are looking to install a home entertainment system, make sure to include Ted in the bidding, because just on price alone, you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Sean and his team, including Scott, Paul, Rich and Doug (the Crestron expert) did an amazing job coming in to rescue our home theatre, surveillance, and network systems. When we built our house, we unfortunately used a company that later went out of business, leaving us with no support and a system that was not really working well. Coming into a situation where they did not install the system and had to do some significant "reverse engineering" to figure out how the prior company did things (there were several problems), the InVision team was able to completely redo our wireless network with a new, very robust and secure system. They installed a couple of new cameras for us and got our system talking with our iPads and phones in a seamless way. They installed a Sonos music system and that makes it very easy for us to enjoy music in any room. We had a non functioning Blu Ray player and Crestron remote, which they replaced at a very low cost for us. All in all these guys did what it took to get our job done right and we could not be happier. Their price was very fair, and they did not charge extra even though there were some unforseen problems with the system (from the prior installers) that they dealt with expertly. Four different companies have been to my house over the years to repair our AV system. Every single company arrives proclaiming that the entire system needs an overhaul and they can wire it so much better. Thousands of dollars later, every company has disappeared, leaving a mess. These company are great at selling you a system and absolutely horrendous about followup when you experience a problem. NOT TED! I'm so grateful to have found Ted through yelp, and the other reviews had me feeling cautiously optimistic. It's been one month since Ted was here to set up our system, and I can tell you the other reviewers did not overstate how fantastic he is! He visited our house and took note of all the problems we're experiencing. He strategized solutions with me, developed a plan and emailed me a quote, and told me we could use all of my old equipment (!). He even took the burned out receiver the old company sold us a year ago, talked to his distributor, and got me the same model only refurbished, even though I didn't have the purchase receipt! He set up four different TV's, programmed remotes, installed new outdoor speakers, and made everything work together. Then he patiently trained me how to use all of the new remote programming. He's friendly, helpful, absolutely the best technician I've ever had in my home. The best part is this: twice in the past month our kids have pushed buttons and messed up settings (i.e. changed the speaker output) and I couldn't figure out how to get the system back on surround sound. I texted Ted and the next day he dropped by to fix the problem and show me what happened so I can fix it in the future. He has assured me that whenever I have a problem, all I need to do is call him. We had our home theater system put in by another "big business" company that we have not been happy with and decided to finally cut the cord with them, and switch to a local business. Sean came over and evaluated our system and gave us suggestions on how to make it better, without high pressure sales tactics. We are not quite ready to switch out our system, so he also gave me tips on what to do if this or that happens to try to troubleshoot problems on my own until I am ready to switch out my system.
