    I came with a 12pm rental. The apps says my car is ready for selection because I'm a preferred member but when continuing says the car isn't ready. I must talk to an agent. In line at the temporary trailer, there were about 60 other people in line trying to get their Avis or budget rental. The other car rental places had minimal lines and moved folks on through. I had 15 rentals in front of me and it took around 1.25 hours to get my rental! The manager said they closed the preferred members area due to airport expansion construction happening.

    When the Avis app says your vehicle is ready, you usually have a sigh of relief and the feeling you'll soon be on your way soon. Not if Avis at the Asheville airport has anything to do with it. Our reservation was at 3:30 on 7/4. We arrived to the covered (but still outdoor ) are behind approximately 25 people. The line moved slowly, and then came to a screeching halt. Once I finally reached the counter I was told they had cars, but no way to get them back to the garage to assign out. I asked what they had, as we had 2 kids suffering out in the heat. The vehicle they had was a downgrade. We took it, then once we rolled out of the garage noticed the gas tank was only 1/2 full. Was I going to back to stand in that line? Absolutely not. I don't blame the employees working that day, but the poor management was obvious. The car itself needs service and has an issue with recognizing that the trunk is closed. It also came with no windshield washer fluid. Do better. Avis. Don't overcharge me when I didn't get the size car I requested (no, no adjustment was given), and don't act like I'm not supposed to get a full tank of gas to start, because everyone knows you'll charge me if I brought it back half full like you gave it to me. Do better.

    I rented a car in New Port Ritchie, FL to drive to Asheville, NC because my flights got canceled due to the hurricane. I turned in the car at the Asheville airport that very same day, but they had no power or internet there, so the attendent just had me park it. Apparently, they let someone else have it, who drove to Charlotte the next day and turned it in. I was charged for the extra day and when I called w as asked for proof of turning it in. How the hell was I supposed to do that? YOU DIDNT GIVE ME A RECIEPT BECAUSE YOU HAD NO POWER OR I TERNET. It will be a cold day in hell before I rent from you again and I will be happy to leave reviews everywhere I can.

    Stopped by late night for a car. Accidentally booked online for the wrong date. It was supposed to…read morebe a one day deal. Did not realize it was booked for the next day until they rang me up for double the cost- for the current day and the following day (wrong rental day). Once I realized what was wrong, they helped me cancel and rebook. I had requested a luxury car. No luxury car was available. I asked them to check other rental companies as they are related to National and Alamo. They had already checked. They had nothing. All they had was a luxury SUV which they offered to me at the same price as the car that wasn't available. I thought that was nice. I knew the gas to rent the car would more than the rental cost, so I wasn't too happy but it was the best they could do. Both sales gals were patient and helpful. The Audi Q7 was a really nice SUV. I drove it from Asheville to Orlando. It had lane guidance, cruise control, navigation, satellite radio and a beautiful moon roof. The seat had an adjustable lumbar support and a warmer. The only thing it lacked was a steering wheel warmer. The car uses 91 or above, so I had to get the 93 gas. VERY expensive. $3.69 a gallon. I dropped off the car after hours (8:30pm and my rental was til 10pm), and of course they charged me for a second day, because they arrive at 6am. But that's not this location's fault. I called to complain and got that charge refunded. The two gals at the desk in Asheville airport were great. No complaints about them. Wish they had a luxury car so my gas bill would've been less.

Got to the car itself and not bad but not great. The car appeared cleaned but not vacuumed. There was grass everywhere in the trunk as well as the floor of the backseat area. Car itself was just what I ordered and ran well, no problems. When I dropped off the car I wanted a final closed out receipt. The lone woman working was on the phone with a customer. I certainly understood waiting but the conversation went on for at least 10 minutes while I was standing there. She even asked what I needed figuring she would put the customer on hold to check me out or multitask neither of which happened. The actual check out process took about a minute. She was quite pleasant both on the phone as well as with me just a little disappointed I had to wait so long. For the price I would definitely give them your business when traveling to Asheville.

Went back in to counter to request a clean car and was told "Yeah, sorry about that. Our management told us to rent dirty cars." I made 6 phone calls to somewhere offshore where I was told EVERY TIME that the system was down and to call back in two hours. I'm on vacation, mind you, in. Yellowstone National Park. After filing an official complaint through email and sending photos and 10+ emails, I was told I would be given a 20% discount. So, now I have the discounted amount on my credit card in addition to the original amount! Charged double!!

So, on a recent work trip to AVL, I found out when I arrived that I had to use the counter to check in and get keys for my car, which is inconvenient. The lady was friendly and she asked me if I wanted an SUV, to which I said yes. She gave me a Hyundai, which I can't stand. And when I went to the garage to get it, I saw plenty of Wagoneers that she could have given me instead, which is what I've been getting at the other locations recently. The issue is that I ended up parking the car in the hotel lot for a day and a half, as I ended up walking everywhere, so the one day I drove it to lunch, the check engine lights came on after about 5 minutes of driving it, but we made it to lunch. After lunch, the same thing happened, but they came on a few minutes after driving this time. And the car went into "limp mode" which was enough to get me and the crew back to the meeting. I wish they would NOT have selected the car for me, it's the thing that makes National better than the others. Not all of us are impressed with a horrible brand like Hyundai, nor do we want junk like that. Now I need to go back to the counter tomorrow to make sure they didn't charge me for another day of the car, since they came out and towed it back.
