ERIC single-handedly saved the Enterprise reputation in our eyes after we had an awful experience with the Hendersonville Enterprise. Extremely friendly and even apologetic, even though they were in no way at fault. They had us in and out fairly quickly, ~10 minutes because they were cleaning out the car since we called pretty last minute to get it after finding out that there were no cars in Hendersonville (to which we were given no warning even though we had a reservation). They will rent you the car online and when you travel all the way across the country they won't have the car for you and then they will refuse to help you get into another car. This was one of the worse experiences I have ever experienced. I reserved a car for a one way trip due to the death of a family member. I needed to fly to Asheville and drive home. The manager called me at 4pm ish, the night before my 6:30am flight to tell me with many excuses why I couldn't have the rental, everything from the fact that I didn't have a North Carolina drivers license to major credit card. The manger was rude, unprofessional, even hung up on me when I was explaining that it was unprofessional to call me literally less than 24 hours to cancel my reservation. This cost me financially as well as the stress of not having transportation upon my arrival. I called the toll free Enterprise number multiple times with no return call. I realize this is a big company, but the lack of professionalism and beyond poor customer service needs noted. I could have rented a car in my home state for a fraction of what this cost me. Had she called me in a timely fashion, I could have changed plans. This manager and company cost me 5 times as much money due to her lack of management. To call and cancel less than 24 hours is not acceptable. I couldn't cancel my flight or make other arrangements. The worst experience and customer service ever. read more

Full of crooks, especially this location. Very shady business practices. Enterprise has no problem screwing you over and then blaming you for it, on your own dime. They deliberately mislead you about their policies and provide completely wrong information, and then accept zero accountability for it, especially when it results in costing you more money. THEY make mistakes and don't communicate with you and then treat YOU, the customer, like YOU are the problem. Enterprise, you cannot treat your customers like this and expect them to continue patronizing your disgisting excuse for a business. You 100% deserve to fail as a company and I really hope you do. My experience at this location was the worst possible customer service I have ever had with any company. I am in an extended rental for several months and have to return the car every 30 days for an inspection. I was told the car needed to be turned in for a recall and I would get another car. I asked for a car similar to the size I already had and was told they only had one car available but could come back next week to trade it out. The only car available was not clean, smelled like smoke, windshield broken in 2 places. When I returned the following week to trade, the very rude lady at the front desk asked me if she could answer a few phone calls and helped the people behind me first since I was only doing a swap out. I had already been waiting 20 minutes. I asked her why she would ask this and she yelled in my face and told me I could speak to the manager. I am beyond irritated with Enterprise Rental Car. My husband and I reserved a car with them yesterday to be picked up at Asheville Regional Airport at 6:00 PM today. We flew in because my dad is having extreme high blood pressure issues, so we want to take him to stay with us in Florida for a little while until it's under control and hopefully get him some medical care. We have a confirmation number. We gave Enterprise our credit card information. We flew in from St. Pete/Clearwater Airport to Asheville, NC, and the plan was to drive the rental to my parents' house in Blairsville, GA. Enterprise has a location in Blairsville where we were supposed to return the car tomorrow morning. When we arrived at the Enterprise counter, we were told that they do not have any cars available. We are 3 hours away and stranded. So now we have to take a 3 hour taxi ride to get to my parents' place. Enterprise---you should be ashamed. You should not promise cars to people if you have none available. This is a horrible business practice. I am beyond disappointed. read more

I hope this reaches anyone and everyone. I currently live in WNC in an RV. Our area Asheville/Canton area was devastated by Hurricane Helene. I rented a car 3 days before she came through (Tuesday). The following Monday I was due to return the vehicle. I could not get to the airport, or anywhere outside of our immediate area. We got cell service back on Monday, spotty service, I called the 800 number to ask them what to do. I was informed all they could do was extend my rental by a week. 850$ more. Well, I could not believe it. I informed him of my location and told him I was unable to reach the Waynesville store as the land lines were still down. The customer service rep told me that if I did return it to Waynesville I would be charged 400$ on top of my 850$ for the extra week. I spoke to Will a manager in Waynesville upon returning the vehicle, he was supposed to help me reach the right people, he did not. I have never heard from anyone. Ever, Not one returned call or email I am absolutely disgusted by this company and will do everything in my power to tell everyone how awful they are. read more

Everyone we dealt with was warm and easy to work with. And then they even offered to help us get back to the airport. ZERO stars. I get a discount from my company so I booked online and selected a "Luxury" class car - $116 and some change for October 6 4:30pm until October 8 3:30pm (2 days). Not bad. Luxury cars have 6-8 cylinders, leather seats, etc; examples they had online were a Buick or a Lincoln. Well, we touched down in Asheville and there was already a line at the counter, so we waited about 20minutes. The agent at the desk said he could give us only a beat up Camaro (not luxury, had cloth seats). They didn't have "Luxury" vehicles apparently. (Then WHY have it as an option online?!) The agent said he'd give us a discount since it was not Luxury vehicle so while I was annoyed I tried not to make a big deal about it. We went outside to get the vehicle and one of the first things I noticed was that the Camaro had Nevada license plates with bugs and gunk splattered all over the bumper. It wasn't looking good for us. I hopped inside and the inside was a mess. There was food splatter on the dashboard, inside the door, etc. It hadn't even been cleaned! We went back inside to demand a new car and all they had is a Chevy Colorado. I didn't know what that was, but apparently it is a pick up truck. We asked for something else but it was the pick up or a minivan. We are in our 20s and 30s with no kids, so no thanks. The agent apologized and said he would charge us for a standard class vehicle for our troubles. He kept making a big deal about it having only 15miles and we would be the first to drive it. Never mind the fact that we were driving around narrow and winding roads in a bulky vehicle... Fast forward a few days and they hit our credit card with a $175 charge. I compared our reservation confirmation that we received on October 5, with the online receipt that I had to pull up today, and it looked like they charged us for 3 days as opposed to 2 days at the same Luxury vehicle rate. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the "return" was time stamped October 9 at 8:54pm. Well, that can't be because we dropped it off at 2:45 pm (45 minutes prior to our drop-off time) and most of all - on October 9 at 8:54pm were were nowhere within the state of North Carolina! We were home in NJ as our plane took off the previous day on October 8 at 5:30pm! AND we didn't get the discount that was promised to us. To top it off, they indicated we drove the car 85miles (starting odometer 15; ending odometer 100) when in fact that wasn't the case. When we got the car the odometer was at 723 and when we returned it, it was at 781. In looking at the receipt we started to question whether they were even checking the same car we had driven. The level of incompetence at this Enterprise is astounding. I will be calling them once I'm home from work to get this mess sorted, otherwise we will dispute the charge. My experience of renting a car from this location was perfect from the moment I walked in the door until walking back out a few days later. Super polite and knowledgeable service. Cheerfully acknowledged a charge card perk of discount and upgrade and honored it on the spot. Nice new and spotless vehicle. Even the offered to fill the tank upon my return at Enterprises cheaper than if I did it myself price per gallon. My husband and I showed up to pick up our rental and realized we booked at the wrong location and immediately the team sprung into action and canceled our reservation at the other location and found us the perfect car. Wouldn't rent me a car. I do have a company rental from Enterprise that is five hours away and needed a rental car for personal use to get home. I have used this enterprise 3 times before today and I didn't have any problems. Because it was a debit card I had to have $100 deposit, that was ok, a little steep but ok. This time I called the booking agent on Friday Dec 2 and reserved a car for today Dec 6. I had to go out of state for my aunts funeral. I showed up on time to rent a car for the fourth time. Without prior notice I was told that the deposit was now $200 plus the rental fee. Outrageous! Not one word was said when I reserved that the deposit had doubled. read more

I had a good experience and will return, even though it's 15 minutes further than the Enterprise near my house. The price was great. Pickup was easy, even using a debit card. I requested a different make of SUV and he went and washed a new return for me in a shirt and tie. That's awesome customer service in my book! This is the worst location to rent a vehicle. I rented a vehicle on 5/22 and had it for at least 2 weeks. I tried to reach this location by phone several times, I know over the course of 2weeks I dialed their number 15 times. I even called the main customer service number with hopes that maybe they could contact them. Impossible!!! I've never had this problem with any rental car company. If your available to accept payment and release the vehicle, you should be able to service the customer if problems arise during the course of your rental. when I got the vehicle it was sounding as if the wheel was going flat if you drive over 50mph. I drove the vehicle 15 miles to the hotel and decided to give them a call. I had to drive back to location to report this. They immediately fixed the issue but I think in an area like this I should have been able to reach someone. read more

Terrible experience. Enterprise rented me a car with numerous warning lights on it. The management could have cared less that the check engine and tire pressure warning lights were on. After talking numerous times with corporate Enterprise, it seems that they have no control over locations that are not at an airport. So lesson learned, if you ever want to rent from Enterprise, use an airport location, they have accountability. Luckily there is one right down the road from this location. read more

Can I give 0 stars? Here's the story: We had a last minute rental because our flight was delayed and the other car rental counter had already closed for the night. My husband, 6 year old, 6 month old, and myself settled into a minivan (perfect for us). We noticed some scratches in the carpet but we were already on the road after a brief outer inspection of the vehicle and we had already endured flight delays and another car agency closed and flying with a baby from California to NC so we didn't turn back. This was our first mistake. We should have turned right back around and had the guy at the counter pull our contract to note that damage. We're rookies. After dropping off the car and getting on a plane home, I get a message from the manager that there was damage and they were charging me $350. I called back to speak to that manager 3 times. She never called me back. But another employee did and said there was excessive dog hair in the car (from what dog??????) and scratched carpet. Well that tells me that the manager was willing to LIE about dog hair in the car to justify charging us for scratched carpet-To make up a story to explain where those scratches had come from. That's disgusting and unprincipled. I had to go through several months of back and forth with the enterprise dispute process and my credit card company to finally get a decision to revoke the charges. But I will never be so naive. Take my word for it. Use your phone camera and take pictures of the entire car before you drive away. Especially THIS enterprise. read more
