I originally booked through Expedia for $240 for the entire trip, but upon arrival, additional fees and a deposit were added, bringing the total to nearly $500. These charges were not clearly disclosed during booking, which was very disappointing. I highly recommend calling Expedia or the rental company directly before booking to clarify all fees upfront. Otherwise, you may end up paying significantly more than expected.

We explained at airport counter and again at location in Goodyear. We returned the car within 2 hours and Avis at the Hampton Inn charged us $120. When we asked to keep car they said they couldn't cancel the return. So we left car there paying $120 to drive for 2 hours. Horrible customer service in everyway. Both agent at airport and Caby Welsh Store Manager at Hampton Inn. He wasn't helpful with explaining the papers and he left a lot of stuff out. Rent a center makes their money on pricing their products 400% higher than on the market. So be careful. I believe her name was Alexis or Alex, I apologize if I'm remembering it incorrectly. The first time I interacted with her, I had a lot of extra baggage, and without hesitation she helped carry it all the way to my rental car. The second time, I was dealing with an issue involving my travel agent and rental reservation, and once again, she went out of her way to help me get everything sorted out. Both times, she was nothing but smiles, positivity, and genuinely great customer service. She made stressful travel situations significantly easier, and experiences like this are the reason I have such a positive impression of National. Employees like her are an incredible asset to the company, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
