I had an extremely disappointing experience with Avis, and I would not recommend this location to anyone. The associate, Sonia, was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Instead of taking the time to explain policy or assist in any way, she chose to deny service with a dismissive and unkind attitude. It honestly felt like helping customers was the last thing she wanted to do. Customer service should be about respect, communication, and professionalism--none of which were demonstrated during this interaction. If you're looking to be treated with courtesy and basic respect, this is definitely NOT the place to go. By far one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. This weekend I came to Avis Car Sales (located next door to Rentals) in order to purchase a new vehicle. I was with my family and was able to obtain the cashiers check for the payment from a local bank. I returned quickly, as we had driven 2 hours to Colton in 95+ degree weather and were eager to complete the transaction and go home. In my rush, I entered the basically empty parking lot, and in order to give myself more space to get out, PURPOSELY parked with part of my vehicle over the line into the next spot (which was clearly NOT a parking space, it was a rounded barrier space as you can clearly see in the photo attached). Me thinking logically, thought that since 1) it's a basically empty lot , 2) I am in a rush to complete the transaction for a $20,000 car being paid for in cash and 3) I was over the line in a "barrier space" and not another parking spot, this would not be an issue. Oh, how wrong I was. Upon entering the Sales building and providing the check, a woman stormed into the building behind me demanding that I needed to move my vehicle as I had "parked in two spots"- I replied that the space I had parked over the line on wasn't a spot. She continued to argue before storming off. I left to catch up with her clearly pointing at the rounded barrier space and how it was clearly NOT a parking spot. She replied by shouting back saying that I was "weird" and "needed to move my S*IT" (verbatim). Now want to here the fun part? This lady is Sonia the MANAGER of the Avis Rental Company next door. Is your mind blown yet?At this point I was more than happy to return a few choice words of my own with the addition of two little birds. Apparently this is how an Avis employee is allowed to treat customers spending $20,000 cash at one of their affiliated businesses. Do you know what's WEIRD Sonia? It's weird when a crazy lady starts demanding I move my car and making accusations for no reason instead of having some basic manners and asking politely (your parents obviously did a pathetic job raising you). It's WEIRD when I am accused of parking in an additional space that apparently only exists in your small deranged little brain, powered by what I assume is (at the very most) 3 neurons. This review is solely for the sales department. What started out as a pleasant experience, has turned into a problem left for me to take care of. On July 27, 2020 I financed a vehicle I planned to give to my mother. Everything went smooth from test driving to signing my name. Willy helped me out and seemed pretty kind and very willing to get me in a vehicle. They did however try to get me to agree to pay for some sort of treatment that was already done to the vehicle (without me getting a chance to decide if I wanted it done or not) for $499. Apparently this treatment was already done to the overall vehicle, including the windows and inside, but I would not be charged for it. I opted out of paying the $499. I also asked Willy a few times if there was anything I needed to worry about, like fluids or any maintenance that needed to be done. He seemed a little unsure, but he believed everything was taken care of. After my mother had the vehicle for several days she tells me she can't see through the windows at night. After test driving the vehicle at night, I too noticed how incredibly foggy the windows were with the windshield being the worst. The signal lights and street lights were blurry, but when a vehicle drove past the opposite direction, I was nearly blinded by their lights because of this so called treatment added to the windows. Shortly after, I took the vehicle to a Chevy dealership to inspect. I also tried everything I could to remove whatever product was on the windows with zero luck. Upon further inspection, it appears some sort of round spinning brush was used to apply treatment which caused superficial scratches on the windows and car. I was also told that I would need an oil change since the oil's remaining life span was 19%. I was informed I'm going to need new tires and charging of the AC. There is a visible texture only at night that can't be felt, which makes the vehicle dangerous to operate at night. Two weeks later after trying to get into contact with the sales department, and being told someone would call me back, I finally get back in touch with Willy who isn't so helpful this time around. There was ZERO sense of urgency to respond to me or help me. His words came off very questionable. When someone who is used to speaking says "Umm" or "Uhh" a lot, it is a very telling sign they are unsure or aren't giving you the truth. I'm now left having to replace the windows out of pocket for some terrible treatment they chose to have done. Please learn from my experience and thoroughly inspect the vehicle before purchasing. I'm ending this review with saying, I will not recommend the sales department at AVIS in Colton. read more

I had made reservations with enterprise, the day of my reservation enterprise called me 30 min before my pick up to cancel me. Having no where to go and finding a car was like a needle in a haystack! BEWARE!!!!!! I prepaid for 2 rentals on Maui. Upon returning them (gas tanks filled btw) I told the attendant to email me my receipt. Reviewing both receipts I found I was charged $71 for gas on one of the cars and various "fees" amounting to over $250! I was told by Avis that I had "signed off" on the fees which may or may not be true. And as for dealing with the gas charge they demanded I provide a date stamped receipt. When I arrived I was not informed that they were going to run my credit card for a far greater amount than what was agreed on. My card declined because transaction was reported as possible fraud. The representative did not tell me the amount she was trying to place a hold on til after the transaction was unsuccessful and after getting a fraud alert via text. This was the worse experience in my life renting a car. The so-called manager owner CEO Sonia was very ignorant and rude. She doesn't have communication skills, nor does she have customer service skills. She was harsh from the beginning talking to us like she was on the streets and wanted an altercation. She gave us a car that smelled like cigarettes and alcohol after stressing she would charge us if we smoke in the car. We don't even smoke. We asked for another car; of course, she states they only have one, and we would need to pay for an upgrade, or we could drive to Ontario to exchange. We get to Ontario; they inform us that Bolton does this all the time, but they have no available cars. We drive back to explain this to the ignorant lady who tells us Ontario has thousands of vehicles, so oh well, and at this point, because we are complaining she won't give us a car lol I informed her this is not a problem as I don't trust her nor want her ratchet cars. PLEASE READ!! The negative reviews must have something to do with old management because the experience I had dealt with was nothing short of phenomenal. I thought this particular Avis was a rental car service only but they do sell used vehicles. My wife and I came in to inquire about a particular vehicle and was met at the door by Kimberly. Unlike horrific experiences at the car dealership where they swarm you to get a sale, she was completely transparent and willing to answer any questions that we needed. She gave us the space to think on our own and to collectively make a decision rather than provoke and convince us to buy a vehicle. Once we decided on purchasing the vehicle we were sent to Angelica, the manager of Avis. She broke down pricing and presented warranties with the sole intent to make sure that we were covered. She was such a sweetheart and had a feel that she cared about her customers. Altogether, I'm writing this review so people are aware that the negative reviews of this place are nothing compared to what I experienced. I returned a vehicle on Aug 22nd to Paula Alaniz who states she is the owner of Prisma Inc at 1700 W. Valley Blvd, Colton. Paula went to the vehicle to inspect the vehicle I returned and came back and said to me, "Do you want to take the vehicle for the rest of the hour you have rented and vacuum it,." I told her, "I have never heard of a rental car company telling me to vacuum a returned rental car". Paula told me "You need to bring the vehicle back in the same condition as when you rented it, it is excessively dirty". I asked Paula where I could vacuum it rather than sit there and argue with her. Paula said she did not know where I could vacuum it. I had to drive around the area that I am unfamiliar with to find a place to vacuum the vehicle. I have rented several cars in my lifetime and have never encountered this kind of circumstance. I drove the car back from Texas where it had been raining for several days prior to me driving back. Considering I had the car for more than one month and the weather conditions, I do not consider it excessively dirty compared to normal wear and tear. Because of her demands, I had to put an additional $3.17 in gas to fill it up and pay $1.00 for vacuuming. Based on other reviews here, I see there is a pattern of problems with Paula and their business in general. The vehicle I rented was not excessively dirty other than normal wear and tear for a vehicle I rented for a little over a month. read more

Made a reservation with my USAA membership so I wouldn't be charged an underage fee I get there and they tell me they're unaware of this and I still have to pay it. I explained to them why wasn't that stated at the time I made my reservation online, then they called whoever is the manager of the location and they told them it's their store policy and I would have to pay it. Why wasn't this stated at the time of the reservation online! When I tried booking through Hertz it let me know up front that the location I chose to rent from would not honor my underage fee to be waived so why couldn't this be done with Avis as well. Once I left I called the corporate number for Avis and the gentlemen I spoke with said he did see that my underage fee should be waived and if I still wanted to rent the car I could but I would have to pay the underage fee when I picked it up but upon return he would make the adjustments to reimburse the underage fee.
