Extremely disappointing experience with Hertz. I picked up my rental and the gas tank was at 3/4. According to them, it was "slightly above." When I returned the vehicle, the gauge was at 3/4 again -- but now they claimed it was "slightly below" and charged me $50. Anyone who's ever pumped gas knows it's nearly impossible to get the needle to land on the exact microscopic spot it was at before. Gauges aren't that precise. Penalizing customers over a hairline difference on a fuel needle feels petty and dishonest. I tried explaining this to the manager, Avi, but it was a complete waste of energy. No flexibility, no common sense, no customer service. Be aware -- if you rent here, take photos of everything and expect to be nickel-and-dimed over technicalities. read more

As a president circle customer with Hertz I have never received as much disrespect as I did today. When I entered the building I was not greeted with any sort of Hertz respect. I was asked very rudely what I wanted and when told I had a reservation, I got criticized for booking a vehicle that apparently they do not even have, like I made your reservation system. The agent stated that I would have to cancel my reservation, which was non refundable due to being booked with Hertz Points and that as far as a refund goes I probably would not be refunded I understand it's the holidays and all, but you do not treat a presidential circle customer or any customer or member with such disrespect as I received today. Bait-and-switch. We reserved a car online for about $51/day, with multiple cars available at that price at that location. We came in only to be told that no cars are available for less than $71/day. Moreover, the guy kept saying that he "did all he could to get a lower price," even that he gave us some Veterans discount and employee discount -- yet when he showed us the breakdown of the fees, no discount was included. Absolutely could not get a hold of them to switch out my vehicle since the warranty would only cover a certain fee per day. Charged me a fuel charge up front before I even go into car. Also they do not communicate with each other on helping customers. Called multiple times for help but always got the round about on how they would get back to me as soon as they had answers. Didn't hear anything for weeks so I had to keep bugging them. I had the car for 4 days as well and they charged me 5 even though it was returned to the dealership like I was told was perfectly OK. Worst car rental experience ever. I booked my car two weeks in advance paid for it and when I arrived they told me they had no cars. That I would have to go to Ontario Airport to get one. I had got dropped off so I didn't have a ride to go to Ontario. Asked the guy at the counter if he can call to make sure there will be a car for me and he told me no that i had to call. Couldn't even do that. So anyway I called Ontario Airport and they said they did have a car for me but that I would need to make a new reservation and the car rental would be more that they could not honor the price I paid. It is now $200 more than what I originally booked it for I'm like how is that my fault? What was the point in booking in advance. Never again using Hertz. read more

made a reservation for 1/11/2021 , the staff was super friendly , and there was a problem with the car I was getting and the Manager Ron , immediately without questions took care of the issue. I was in and out very fast. Ron made sure I was comfortable with the car I was getting , the place is clean they really take care of you as a customer and you can see the follow guidelines with Covid19, you have 2 customers inside and the rest needs to wait outside. I was happy to see they care about each customer that walk in. My return took only 5 minutes it was fast. I'm glad I didnt have to wait long like other places. Let's talk about it.... 1. Dirty a$$ cars, forget COVID cleaning standards. Interior was DISGUSTING. 2. Again DIRTY NASTY CARS, exterior is literally filthy. Didn't even bother to wash this car when it was turned in. 3. Rental personnel....as rude as they are lazy (there was one guy that was nice but still seemed unable to offer the proper information without playing 21 questions first) 4. The car made every sound imaginable...and none of them sounded good. How this place is even open is beyond me. I only used them because my car was being repaired and the dealership sent me here. I thought they would be quicker than the airport...wrong. This car is a mess, old, dirty and rundown. I can't even believe they are using it. Wow, I have never gotten this bad management from a rental place like this place. I reserved and prepaid for a van a month ahead, then 2 days before the date I should come to pick up the reservation, they called and said the had no van available and told me to call customer support to cancel it. All of this hassle they would never take any responsibility to help customer fix it but made me as a customer to figure it out on my own. And now it costs me extra to reserve a van from a different location since it is now to close to the date I need it. Hertz says to charge customer a fee if cancel 24 hrs after booking. Who will do anything to the location for dishonoring a reservation after 20 days booked and then taking no extra step to help but to call and say "This is a courtesy call to you to let you know that we had no van available." Very bad customer service and irresponsible management. If you could, try to rent from a different location. Avoid this one at all cost. read more

I waited 2 hours and called again because I think they forgot to pick me up. After they put me on hold the guy came back on and said someone is on the way. I have rented from here many times and this was by far the worst experience I have had! First: When I attempted to turn in the vehicle, I was informed that due to covid-19 they were suspending customer shuttle services. Completely understandable, but I was not informed ahead of time. Sonia stated that she had called all rentals on file the previous week - however I received no such call despite her insistence that I did. So now I had no ride and was debating on walking.... Second: Sonia stated that I COULD park and leave the vehicle at the repair shop and Hertz would retrieve it later? I asked her how would she know who I was and attempted to give her at least the bare minimum information on myself and my rental (name, etc.) AND SHE WOULDN'T TAKE IT!!?? The conversation went something like this: M = me. S = Sonia M: how will you know who's account it is? S: it's on the keychain M: So can you look at the keychain now so. you at least know who I am? S: No I can do that. We can't touch the keys we have you put them in a box in the back. Just leave the car at the repair shop and we will get it when they call us. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!!!!!!! Third: when I get to said repair shop- I should take time to mention that I am also a frequent customer of theirs and have nothing but good things to say about them: I recount to the owner the Hertz debacle and he tells me that he has no idea why Sonia would tell me to leave a vehicle that belongs to HERTZ with them without asking them first. I'm in total agreement with the owner btw. BUT IT GETS WORSE!!!!!! Today (the day after I drop off the rental car) I see 2 pending transactions on my bank card from Hertz. I call and speak with SONIA. She informs me that she was planning to call ( when I don't know) and tell me that there was pet hair "all over the vehicle" and I was being charged $30 for cleaning. Or I could come down and clean it myself and take it to a carwash. I had this rental for 30 days. I have pets at home. I also have a child that uses a wheelchair. And it rained a lot in March. I went back to HERTZ armed with a long roller, paper towels, and a spray bottle of cleaner. I asked Sonia to show me said pet hair that was "all over the vehicle". IT WAS IN THE TRUNK AND ON THE FLOORBOARDS!!! Specifically the floor mats which are meant to collect debris from your FEET! The small amount of hair on the seats was from transfer contact on clothing. I took my lint roller and had it picked up in 10 minutes. Fyi it was a Ford Explorer. The pet hair and other debris in the trunk was on only one side of the trunk. Specifically where the wheels of my daughter's wheelchair were placed for transport. Worst experience ever. read more

My insurance set me up with a car from this location. First they put the wrong day to return the car on my contract and when I called to get the correct one I was told it was the 8th. Then the car they gave me broke down because no oil so I ended up getting a replacement from the airport location. Called today to confirm the time to see when to return the car since my contract is incorrect Terrell informs me that it was supposed to be returned on the 6th and I'm being charged for the two days due to their mistake. I booked a 'Mid Size SUV' through Priceline. A Nissan Rogue (not sport) or Similar was shown on my confirmation email at $60/day through Hertz. When we got there to pick it up, they were giving us a Buick Encore, a small SUV priced at $75/day rental. Obviously our luggage and a stroller would not fit the trunk because we needed a bigger car than this. I told them about it and asked if they had a bigger car or a Nissan Rogue or any similar sized car which I originally requested earlier on my booking. To which they offered the Nissan Rogue (small SUV according to their website). However, they told us that we have to pay additional $40/day if we rented that car! On my booking it was clear that they confirmed an SUV rated at $60/day rental and it was available when we got there. It's okay if they wanted us to pay $75/day. But no! for some reason they wanted us to pay $115/day for the Rogue. We were so late on our trip and we had to cancel the contract and not take the car they were offering us. I felt that they were trying to scam us to pay more than what I booked. BTW on their website it shows that a Nissan Rogue is priced at $73.13/day. read more

Very unprofessional. Got a car rental here first day had a loaner which was dirty smelled and had pot residue in the glove box. Had to come back Saturday to get the original car that was wrote out to me. After having it a few days there was an issue with the vehicle so I brought it back here to let them know that the back tire of the car had major tred showing and it needed to be replaced. The manager said oh well its being sold anyway so we will put u in another car. They tried putting me in a car that was dirty and had some nasty white stuff soaked in the seat.
