    Was a very good experience the first time we got a rental car here due to an insurance claim. They…read moreupgraded us to a Nissan Rogue even though USAA only paid for a car rental. I went back to this location about a month later on the same insurance claim. This time, no one said anything about USAA only paying for a car rental. The employee just brought a Rogue around without even asking if I wanted a car. I figured it was the same deal as last time. $115 charge later for the upgrade, I learned it was not the same deal. I explained last time I got a free upgrade and was just told "that was a different contract." While the person I talked to, whom I am assuming was the manager, was not rude, I wouldn't call her customer-friendly and she didn't offer to explain the variance in rentals. If you aren't going to offer the same free upgrade as last time, at least make sure employees gives the customer the option of getting what their insurance company will pay for. So between the 5 from the first experience and the 1 from this experience, I figured a 3 was a good rating for this Enterprise. Edited: I just talked to the new manager, Jacob. He could not have been nicer, so I revised my rating, yet again. His customer service is def 5-star worthy!

Later I found that "no additional driver" unless listed below, which no one was listed below. I have to delay my trip and go back to the local office in order to correct the contract!!!!

That was issue number one - the rental system should have identified the federal holiday and not allowed me to select the date/time/location since it was known it would be closed. However, the company's online reservation system is not my responsibility during an already stressful time of moving. Upon picking up my rental on May 22, 2026, I paid for an extra day since the location was identified as closed on Sunday, so I willingly paid the extra $90.00 daily fee. I attempted to call the location intermittently over nearly five hours on Friday to confirm the drop-off location would be closed on Monday, but did not successfully talk with a human on the phone at this location (I called 901-737-1077 and followed the prompts). I called the customer service line for Budget truck rentals, and they willingly helped me out saying I had done all I was able, notes were input into my reservation documenting my concerns, and customer service provided top notch service. When I arrived yesterday ahead of my scheduled drop off time, I went ahead and took a picture of my truck in front of the location to have my phone identify the location and time the photo was captured. As soon as the location opened on May 26, 2026, I showed up to turn in the keys and go about my own business. The male and female who worked at this location were very condescending, very rude, and happily charged me an additional $184 and some change for an extra day, pro rated insurance, a cost recovery fee, a fleet management fee, and even threw in a charge for a drop off fee. They rudely informed me I should have known the location was closed and should have not been allowed to even select the drop off date/time, but again, not my problem as the consumer. I would consider picking another location in the greater Memphis, TN area over this one to avoid the dissatisfaction of the way they run their specific location.

We got there at 9 am on a Sunday and the mall didn't open until noon, so we thought we'd have to go to the airport, but Kelvin was out (I think he was checking in another rental) and asked if we were looking for Avis. He led us in the mall and quickly closed the rental out. He was not only quick, but also very nice. Would def recommend this Avis location based on our experience.

I asked when they expected to get a car in and was told they had no idea. I had to coax some information out of them by asking if there was someone scheduled to return a car and what time they were scheduled to bring it back. I knew the car was not guaranteed to be back at that time, but that would have been a better explanation that "we have no idea". Going back and forth with the lady she tells me "when we get a car, we will call you". I ask for clarification on what that meant. She tells me the same thing - "when we get a car we will call you". I mean, I get the part about calling me. I was confused as to what would happen 'after' they called. I ask if she meant that the car would be reserved for me and she responds again that "they will call me". We go through this a few more times. Then she tells me that she's not going to argue with me. I'm like, "ma'am, I'm not arguing with anyone, I just need a yes or no answer. When you call to let me know a car is there, does that mean the car will be reserved for me?" The fact that she couldn't answer that simple question seemed like they were trying to hide something (so that they could come back and say that they never said it would be my car or whatever). Then she passes me to Thomas who 'kindly' let me know that they will call me when a car comes in. I asked him for clarification, and again, he repeats the whole calling me when the car comes in bit. He then goes on to tell me "that I am no more special than any of the other 100 people that have reserved cars to pick up today". Whew...we go back and forth about what will happen after the phone call. Finally I get an answer. YES! The car will be reserved for me. Then he goes on to say "that's what I've been telling you". I'm like, no, that's not what you've been telling me. In fact, I asked directly if that what it meant and you wouldn't say yes or no. I eventually got the call that they had a car ready for me. Fast forward 4 days. It's time to return the car only to walk up to a locked door with an "open" sign along with note that said "out of office". I call the number and was told he would be back in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later Thomas shows up. I'm a little ticked that they just lock the office up, and leave, but whatever. I mention to him how rude the person who helped me when I pickup the reservation was and he says, "oh, it's you". So yeah, that's me. He's still arguing with me about the "I'll call you" bit instead of just answering my yes or no question. As a side note, after the initial interaction with Avis, I called Enterprise - which was located a few miles up the street. The lady I talked to was pleasant and super helpful. I booked a reservation for a car to pick up in 30 minutes. It just so happened that during that time, Avis called me back to say the car was ready. I ended up getting the car from Avis, but in hindsight I should not have. Anyway - save yourself the hassle from this company that does not feel their customers are special and go somewhere where they value your business.

That's happened and it's been nice! Another great thing about Budget is the 'free weekend' deal. When you rent a car from Monday through Friday, they'll give you free rental (excluding taxes) through the weekend. Bonus.

Woke up the next morning and went to the car and noticed a golf ball size bubble on the tire. No damage to the wheel. Could not get budget to get a full-size spare and replace it. I even offered to go take it to a store and they said I would have to pay for the tire. That was Ludacris! After at least 12 calls to Roadside Assistance they could not find rental agreement to help us, they said it was a franchise and that was a problem locating it. Called the location many times. They transferred me around many times. We finally got fed up and told them to come get this car. Before that, they said we would have to drive it an hour to the Atlanta airport. I told him it was unsafe of course with the bubble in the tire it could blow anytime. Very disappointing. Guess what happened after that. They billed us $150 for pet hair in the car. Keep in mind that the car was returned unexpectedly six days early. No grace from them. And then charged an outrageous daily rate. We had it rented for a week at a real good rate. Only had the car one day. Now it gets much worse they billed us for two tires and a wheel and a alignment for $782.09. Many many many more phone calls and providing pictures and videos and finally they refunded it. It took an act of congress and was several months after they charged the extra $782.09. Stay away from this location by all means. This gives budget a bad name. We rented from the budget in Cordova, Tennessee. Be aware stay away!
