What I did not expect was nearly $1,978 in mandatory add-ons, including nitrogen-filled tires, wheel locks, tinted windows, and a year of paintless dent repair coverage. In my view, these items added very little value. The dealership was not willing to remove or negotiate these add-ons. Ultimately, I proceeded with the purchase due to the vehicle's limited availability. While the vehicle itself has been excellent, I remain disappointed that I was required to pay for accessories I neither requested nor wanted.

She not only welcomed us with open arms literally but also gave us fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. She questioned me to be sure I was me, even after printing out the documents and while holding my ID and my real credit card. She asked me a couple of times , my information as stated on my ID and on the paperwork. I prepaid for everything, weeks before my arrival therefore, I'm not sure why she treated me like I was trying to break into ft Knox. I low-key wished that everyone was like her because, she was very professional and did her job as if, she owned the joint. If everyone were like her, we'd never have fraud going on. I noticed that she didn't treat others this way which was a little questionable but I could only think that it was probably because I appeared to be a youthful human trying to rent a vehicle under someone else. I didn't take it Personally but did wonder why me. Lol The 2 lady's who worked this shift, were moving as quickly as possible. It was nice that a 3rd fella joined the 2 ladies to help speed up the line because that was a super long wait. They all deserve 7 weeks off with pay honestly because they worked hard! I tried to "skip the counter" as I always do when renting vehicles but, it never works online when signing up with Alamo and on top of that, I find that, you still have to go to the desk to go over everything again anyway... please fix this system before the winter Holidays. Sheesh! It's really nice when you're able to skip the line and walk right out to get your vehicle! I found that no one was able to sign up during this trip and that we all had to wait in line to greet our car and keys I was grateful to be able to get into a brand new vehicle with only 7 miles on it! I was the first to drive it and loved it!!! When I walked out to get the vehicle, the car attendant was bringing a car up to another customer but made me walk all of the way to the front of the garage after pointing for me, to go get my vehicle. WOWWW!!! I was like, "oh so you're really going to make me walk all of the way over there with my broken wheel suitcase, and carry on bag, to get my rental" lol What a rough experience!!! The only problem was that as I was driving out of the airport and already on the freeway, I noticed that the hood was up, in which, I ended up having to get off in a sketchy part of town to close it, at a gas station surrouned by police who weren't in site. A homeless guy sitting on the step in front of the caios seen me get out of the car and told me to be careful because, someone might kiss me, but take the car. Lol I shut the hood down, locking it, and jumped back into the suv and zoomed outta there fast, quick and in a hurry! It was super late/ early morning out and humans were coming from bars and clubs I reckoned. The SUV itself was nice and served it's purpose. I'd rent with ALAMO again as I've done many of times but next time, I'll try to look more grownup, to avoid the interrogation. Lol I'm just glad that our plane landed before closing time because Alamo was closing as I was leaving in the rental. The lady at the gate who checked me out of the lot, was amazing and such a sweet human. She deserves a year off with pay because she was just a great soul. For this trip, I decided to try Enterprise because the neighborhood location was more convenient. I confirmed my reservation the day before and even completed the online check-in. Then, just 3 1/2 hours before my scheduled pickup, I received a call saying they didn't have a vehicle available. There was no solution offered--just a canceled reservation and a last-minute scramble to find a car for a one-way, long-distance trip. I immediately opened the National app, booked a vehicle, and had absolutely no issues. What's most surprising is that Enterprise and National are part of the same company, yet the customer experience couldn't have been more different. National once again proved why they've earned my loyalty with their reliability and consistency. When I need a rental car, I want confidence that it will actually be there--and National continues to deliver.

I arrived from a late flight and provided my documentation upon exit from the garage, and this branch chose to deny me my rental because of my temporary drivers license being slightly older than 30 days old (delay from DMV, but temporary license was still valid and would remain valid for the duration of the agreement.) This policy in and of itself i find ridiculous to arbitrarily decide when to honor a government issued document that hasn't expired, nonetheless i would accept this if the policy was well communicated. Nationals corporate policy states it accepts temporary drivers licenses as long as you provide additional forms of ID (i provided both my original expired license and passport with the temporary paperwork). The corporate policy is all focused on verifying identity, which i provided adequately. Unfortunate this how this branch chooses to treat its loyal customers.

Oh friends, this rental was a doozy! Let me start by saying that I travel extensively for business…read moreand rent almost exclusively from Dollar, maybe 30-40 times a season ... so I am very loyal to the brand, and 9 times out 10, the rental is just fine. OK. They've been pushing 'Check-in online and skip the counter', so that's what I did. I had an 8pm pickup on Sunday, Nov. 17th. I received my initial agreement from Dollar (pictured) and then a follow up email telling me what space my car would be located (Pictured). So far, so good! When I arrived, my beautiful silver Nissan Altima was waiting for me. Only one tiny problem. Every Dollar staff member had gone for the day, including the person who mans the security hut on the way out. So there was NO WAY to leave the parking garage! Additionally, there were two other reservations walking around, also with a very confused look on their faces. So knowing that there were 3 outstanding reservations that evening with 8pm pickups, the staff at this location just up and split! I ended up renting from Hertz and the other two from Avis. Now here's the kicker. The next day, I received a receipt for my car rental from Dollar ... even though the car NEVER left the premises. Additionally, someone altered the mileage to make it seem as though the car was driven 121 miles. (See pictures with red circles) I'm pretty sure they were trying to cover their butts for screwing up ... but whatever the reason, it's still pretty skeezy. I have reported the incident to Hertz Corporate. Bottom line, based on my experience and the reviews of others, I would avoid renting from the Memphis Airport Dollar, if possible. Also the older Black guy with the salt and pepper beard at the checkout gate before you leave the parking lot is rude as hell. The younger gentleman I had to see at that same gate (I had to visit the exit gate twice) the first time was very nice and helpful. The reason I had to go to the gate twice is because before getting the smaller vehicle they put me in the first one and as soon as I drove just a few feet the dashboard lights came on letting me know there were issues with it. Surely you guys knew this before putting the car back on the lot. So I had to keep going to the checkout gate and loop back around. I WILL NOT use Hertz again. Oh one last thing - when I booked I used my debit card. Imagine my dismay when I finally got to the front of the line to learn that I needed a credit card to pay OR they would pull $500 off my debit card plus do a credit check. What in the absolute fuck?! Luckily I had a credit card with me. Update - when I returned the car I happened to pass an employee and asked him if they had a lost and found area. Long story short he was willing to go over and look for something for me and had a pleasant and helpful attitude. He didn't end up looking because to me it seemed like it would be too much of an inconvenience for a small thing that may not have even been in there anyway, so I told him not to worry about it.
