Though the location appears modest, it is an upgrade from their previous outlet closer to Falmouth Mall, and my return revealed several more cars waiting there than when I had departed, so they clearly maintain an active inventory and customer flow.

We had booked a car in vineyard haven and accidentally went to the wrong location. The staff member was nice enough to accommodate us and rent us the car from his location. They have a handful of cars available at this small lot. Since the place is small, you won't run into the long lines you would at a bigger location. Our car had not been cleaned yet, but we didn't mind since we weren't expected. On return, there's a drop box for the keys if the staff member is not there. Just make sure to park in hertz's side of the parking lot.

She was expecting me and quickly processed my paperwork and gave me a nice and new Chevy Equinox. The return was easy. The employee told me that she might not be there and to just park the vehicle and put the key in the lockbox. I did and received a bill the next day. The rental was a fraction of the price that other places charged. Budget is a great place to rent a car to get around Martha's Vineyard.

Garbage bin was full, garbage all over the floor and seats. The exterior was full of dead bugs and so dirty. I was obvious the car was not checked in when the previous renters returned it. We requested the car be cleaned before we take it, but Anthony offered us another mini van. This different van had a totally bald passenger front tire. Like, completely flat. We let the guy know (Anthony). He told us WE can take the car to the tire shops to get it fixed!!! Obviously we passed up that option. He then told us to give him 1 hour and he would have the car cleaned. So we did just that. When we returned Anthony was not there and I called on the number provided at the desk. He told me he had to do an errand and HAD NOT CLEAN THE CAR during that said hour!!! Then he tried to suggest we rent a SUV because it sat 7 people, like the mini van. We rented the mini van for a reason and didn't accept his offer. After 3 HOURS of dealing with this WE took the car home and cleaned it ourselves. We absolutely gave the vehicle back cleaner than we got it, and with a full tank, which was not what we were given even though he checked off on the forms that it was. During all of this debacle the guy was dealing with other customers, and each time we were giving a new car he just handed me new keys and NO PAPERWORK!!! I had to ask for the contract for the van. I still cannot believe I spent 3 hours there just to drive off with the original dirty vehicle. Never again, Budget.

Three emails and two phone calls later, no return email, no return calls and no refund. I had to call my credit card company to have them cancel the charge. No one picks up the phone when you call. Sorry, I'll never attempt to use them again. It's much cheaper for parking and for ferry to use Steam ship authority and just uber to Edger town. 42 bucks for 2 round trip tickets, 60 bucks for uber round trip. 102 vs 180? I'll take that math any day!
