    Booked a reservation. WALKED UP HERE. And was told they have no cars . I would never do business here period. Unprofessional

    I rented a vehicle on Thursday (05/05/2022), upon receiving and during "the walk around", I pointed…read moreout a damage on the left back passenger side, representative said, it's known and noted don't worry about it, it's part of wear and tear and known. On Saturday (05/07/2022), the "engine light sign" came on, I reported this to customer service, as the branch was closed. That same night, me and my wife got pulled over the police on our way back home and were questioned about the vehicle. I was told that the license plates on the vehicle were expired since September 2021!!! After contacting customer service again, the next day (05/08/2022, I was advised to go to the Detroit Airport branch (which is 1.5 hours' drive). I filled up the car and drove to the Detroit Airport branch for the exchange on Sunday (Mother's Day). At the Detroit Airport branch, after waiting for hours, I was told the vehicle could not be exchanged as there was a damage that was not reported on the vehicle. This is the same damage that I pointed out when receiving the vehicle. I made the representative and manager aware that this is a prior to receiving damage and it was noted. They checked the system and told me that it was not noted and the only way an exchange could happen is if they file a claim on my insurance and I pay the deductible which I was not going to do as this is not my fault and the damage was pointed out and confirmed by the branch, I picked up the vehicle. At this point I called back to customer service and was advised to wait at the Detroit Airport branch as a regional manager would contact me to resolve. Hours of waiting later, I had not received any call back and I decided to go back home. On Monday (05/09/2022), I had to take time off from my work to go to the branch to exchange the vehicle. The vehicle they gave me had a crack of at least 7 inch in the windshield, however, as I was in a hurry to get to work and this was the only vehicle available at that point, I took it and went to work. However, after discussing and showing it to my wife, we both did not feel safe driving this any further due to the added risk factor. When I contacted the branch again and told them about the crack and requested to be given a safe vehicle to drive. I was told to just keep driving this as there was nothing they could do. When I spoke to the escalation team member, I was told that "if I am not satisfied with the service, I should return the vehicle and go with another rental company". I want to believe this is not the level of service and experience Enterprise strives for. I was given a faulty vehicle (one with engine light issues and one with a cracked windshield) twice! ... while one had almost 1-year expired license plates. I have tried to reach out to multiple team members, customer service, branch... but no one seems to be able to help and everyone just ignores the issue. I have been promised that I will be contacted by a Regional Manager on 7 different occasions now but so far almost 2 days!!! later, no one has contacted me. Any other normal rental company would've resolved this issue in minutes if not hours and provided me an upgrade for all the inconvenience caused, however, at Enterprise, I have been made feel ridiculous by multiple customer service team members and the branch people and I have had to argue with multiple people so that I can get switched into another vehicle but without any success.

We first encountered Pete a decade ago when we were shopping for a minivan, and he showed us one that was perfect for our needs. We drove it for years! The next vehicle we purchased from Pete was a 2000 Ford Focus, for our 93 year old mother. She loved it, and drove it until she stopped driving, and then we sold it to her caregiver who continued to drive it. This time around, we're picking up a 2009 Nissan Quest minivan for our second car and can't wait to get it into our driveway! Pete is very honest and straightforward about his inventory, and he goes over each vehicle before putting it on the lot, to make sure that it is safe and in excellent operating condition. He's also very fair about pricing, whether you love to haggle or not. He's been doing this for 17 years, and he enjoys putting people into cars and trucks. So, if you're looking for a decent used vehicle, and you don't have an awful lot of money, you owe it to yourself to come to Pete Z's Affordable Cars on Groesbeck (just north of Cass) and look at the fine selection of vehicles he has available.
