Enterprise Rental saved my son's Cedar Point Trip. My son went on line to rent a car from a competitor rental agency. He paid up front and showed up at the agency only to be given horrible customer service. He was there for 2 hours and left without getting a rental. I won't bore you with the details, however, I did do a review on them as well. "Hertz" Anyway. On the other hand, my son had a good experience with the professional at Enterprise he was courteous and professional my son was in and out of there in record time. For years I have always traditionally rented from Enterprise for trips to Cedar Point an other vacation places. Now my son and his wife can continue with the tradition. I waited to review the Sterling Heights location until I had navigated the entire process from reserving through the national number to picking up the vehicle locally to returning it this morning. We decided to take out a rental car for a week in order to test drive it while considering the model for purchase. We thought it best to really get to know a car before sinking $40k in debt. When I called a week prior to pick up and explained this to Amanda at the local office and she said that while she could not guarantee an exact model of car (Chrysler 300) due to the constant pick up and drop off of cars, they would do everything they could to make sure I was satisfied. On the day I was to pick up the rental, the 300's in the fleet were out and my disappointment was short lived as Amanda personally walked me through the lot and gave me a choice of several very nice vehicles instead. She made good on the first promise. That was the one that I would leave the lot in a rental that would meet my needs. In all honesty, it was nicer than the 300 and the 300 is nothing to turn one's nose up at. During the trip, she called me to check in and make sure I was satisfied once I had the opportunity to drive it. I was. I had called in and talked to Danny about something minor and he addressed my issue quickly and put my mind at ease. Fast forward to today: I returned the car this morning and have more good things to say about the team and management at this particular location. I came in a few hours early and was greeted by three people who clearly enjoy their job. That speaks volumes about the company. Granted, I babied the vehicle like it was my own and didn't leave it full of trash, they still did a look over from top to bottom before signing off and giving the vehicle a clean bill of health which makes me a responsible renter. All in all, I had a 5 star experience and will not hesitate to do business with them again. The staff is stellar, the fleet is clean and well maintained and the price is right. In many of my reviews I mention which businesses I visit give a military discount. Enterprise speaks Veteran. That too says a lot about a company. I've asked for a courtesy call when the 300 is available on a Friday, I have no doubt Amanda will give me a call. The team just seems to communicate with each other as well as they interact with their customers. These are things that I notice. I had the misfortune of getting into my first car accident and through my stressr the cust. service team took care of me. I called as I was leaving my insurance company and they had me set up within the 10 minutes of my arrival. Now, I did have a slight problem with the car I was given initially, but that was allergy related (and a cleaning issue). I did come back the next day and they were able to switch my rental. Honestly, I'm not sure if this review is more applicable for the DTW location or this one but my car return experience here was horrible. I rented my car from Enterprise at DTW after reserving it online. I waived the insurance online because I knew my car insurance and credit card would cover me. At DTW, I did the typical walk around the car and marked where the little dents/scratches were. The guy also walked around it with me but seemed more concerned with talking about my personal life ew. I signed off on no insurance again on the paperwork and left with no issues. I returned the car a couple of days later to the Sterling Heights location since it was closer to my new apartment. The guy assisting me walked to check out the car and then gives me a total that was higher than I expected from my bill online. I asked for the breakdown and he said that I got their insurance coverage which I certainly did not. I explained this and then he promptly told me that my rental car had a long thin dent on one of its door. I asked that he show me and he made me stand behind the car at a certain angle to be able to see how the light refracted differently at the dent. Why is there an inconsistency in how Enterprise agents inspect cars (besides trying to cheat customers)? Back at the office, he told me that I was lucky that whoever left the insurance on did that or else I would have to go through a long claims process that would be expensive and get nowhere and that it was better to pay the extra $200. Unfortunately, I was so tired from my move and starting my new job that I did not have the energy to argue with the guy like I should have. Again, the blame could have been split between the DTW location and this location but Enterprise left a nasty taste in my mouth after this interaction. Seems mighty suspicious that the insurance was left on if you ask me. If you do decide to rent with them, make sure to look at the car from every angle possible, double check with the agent about everything, and watch your back. Enterprise forever lost a customer that day. I've since rented from Hertz at multiple locations and have never had a problem. read more

They also will email receipts, which makes it much better to keep track of for tax purposes. They will even pick you up and drop you off! The most horrible customer service I have ever had. I was left a threatening message. I would never use this location, nor any other Enterprise again..I was recommended to them by my Insurance company, I will also be letting them know how I was treated. When I went to drop off vehicle they wanted to charge me $100 for cleaning even though the vehicle wasn't cleaned before it was given to me. There was garbage and beers cans under the seat when I picked up the vehicle. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !! read more

Worse customer service. The demand payment for a vehicle before you turn the vehicle in. They say they cannot have any outstanding balance on there records. Had to pay 240.00 on tuesdaay and 110 three days later. Never again will i use this store. The suck and plus the vehicle thwy gave me had bad brakes and the vehicke stalled while i was turning. They would not even provide me a different car just lowered the rate down. read more

This is the last time I ever rent a car from this place!! The car they rented me broke down and I was stranded on the side of the freeway for almost 6 hours. I called their "roadside " assistance was told they'd have a replacement van picked up and brought out to me, ETA 1-6 hours so hold tight. At the 5 hour mark I called for and update only to be told that the tow company had tried to pick up the vehicle 4 hours ago and Enterprise would NOT release it until the "disabled " vehicle was brought to them! So how's that supposed to happen when it's BROKE DOWN??!!! Nobody ever contacted me to let me know that nobody was coming & when I began to ask questions as to "why?" the woman said she didn't have to take that from me and hung up!! Are you kidding me?you don't have to take me asking why you left me stranded for 5 hours?? I called back and was told that "they don't exchange the car out like that" and "unfortunately because it's now 4 o'clock and a holiday we cannot bring you a new car but we can tow that one you'll just have to find a safe way home for you and your family".....wait, what??!!!!! Let me get this straight, you give me a BAD vehicle, it breaks down, your workers are incompetent and don't know their job leaving me stranded with young children &senior citizens in 85degree weather for 5 hours and I have to find my own way home?? Oh and the best part of this story, the rental has expired plates!!! Thank you to the police officer that did NOT give me the ticket for this. The manager Danny is a con artist; charges for your debit card behind your back once you leave the property. I worked for a rental company for 20 + years... and these guys are slippery. I rented a car and when I brought the vehicle back they didnt say anything, except thanks. Then when I went home I was notified by the bank they had charged my card for so called chips of paint-- they notice on the car, which was listed prior to rental. Its ok cause im going to dispute the charge and go to better business bureau on this location. Go to hertz, budget or somewhere else they are con artist here. We had car problems, but needed a car, so we called Enterprise on Van Dkye near 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, MI. The phone conversation/rental agreement was courteous, friendly, professional, helpful. They picked us up at the house (another courteous employee driving), took us to the office to sign agreement and pick up the car. The personnel at the office were outstanding: friendly, helpful! They couldn't be more gracious. We picked up the car and returned it a few days later, and the result was the same: Friendly, helpful.. This Enterprise gave my friends and me a car that had 2 bald tires, no windshield wiper fluid, a broken windshield wiper and a cigarette lighter that didn't work (therefore we had no GPS). And how did we learn that the tires were bald you ask? While driving 50 mph through a rainstorm in West Virginia we completely spun out, VERY narrowly missing guardrails and cars. And what did we get from our near death experience? 1 day without a car in North Carolina (we had to take the car to the Enterprise down there to fix everything), 10% off and a whole lot of attitude from the sales rep in Michigan! read more

I am honestly shocked this company is running the way it does. I'm torn because the actual people there were very nice but man was the service aweful. First, unless you have 45 minutes to wait on hold, forget calling them. The three times I've tried contacting them I was on a minimum of a 25 minute wait each time. Second, the condition of the car was appalling... I cannot even describe the level of filth that car had. The back seat had actual seepage in the lining if the seats... it smelled disgusting, there was sticky spots and hair EVERYWHERE. The wipers didn't work, and when I first went to drive it and pulled the shifter back, WRAPPERS and crumbs popped out of it. I mean come on.... this could never pass an inspection so I'm assuming it never went thru one. How could that slip thru the cracks? You're charging almost 40 a day for someone to ride around in someone else's filth??? Finally getting my car back was the happiest experience yet...I exchange it around 12pm and after the guy does a walk thru he tells me "mam I just refunded your full 250". Awesome, I leave, and I was thrilled to be done with that process. Next, my billing statements say I was only refunded 210. After waiting on hold for a half hr and explaining the situation to an employee she told me I was charged unknowingly the 40 because I had it an extra day. I said again I only had it for a couple hrs and she said it basically didn't matter if I had it for one whole minute. It's a "calandar" day and I'll be charged. I asked why the other employee told me I was being refunded the full 250 and that they apologize for the horrible condition of the car. She said she didn't know but shell talk to him so it doesn't "happen again." Well it happened to me? So what can be done about it? And she quickly told me that she couldn't do a thing about it. So instead of getting angry with her lack of business etiquette I said thank you and hung up... knowing I nor anyone that I know who will ever look for a rental will ever come back. Not just to this store but enterprise entirely.... there's principles to these things and when you hand someone a beat down, disgusting vehicle and blindly charge them.... well... it's not going to work out very well. They have always met my expectations, and occasionally they've provided a free upgrade that exceeded my expectations.
