He offered to come to our house to check the issue, and to our surprise, he arrived just 10 minutes later. He quickly diagnosed the problem and informed us that they would return to fix it within two weeks. The entire process took only 30 minutes--what amazing service! Also, I want to mention the friendly front desk lady at the San Marcos office. I've visited a couple of times to make payments in person and avoid late fees. When…read morethe water main burst in our complex last month Vallecitos Water was super responsive in coming to our humble hood in the middle of the of the night to make it right. I mean, shit happens and it's how you respond to it that counts. Yeah, it sucked not having water for over five hours but whatchagonnado? The workers who came out seriously worked all through the night to get us some temporary water lines. They were incredibly respectful and quiet considering it was 3 am and by morning we had running water again (which was a huge relief considering I ate 2 rice beans & cheese burritos from Robertos for dinner)! Over the next few weeks they had to dig up our street and VWD was very accommodating with minimizing the noise and traffic. Their workers were diligent and friendly while having to deal with cranky neighbors and really worked to accommodate everyone. It seems like they have a thankless job however I am very appreciative of their efforts. I am thankful that the disruptions were minimal and that everything is back to normal now. Whew!

He stated this was for hours worked and many more days than originally needed. Unfortunately we didn't pay attention to days he was there, hours nor crew. There were days he didn't come, his crew would be there for an hour or so and we didn't keep track. Not once did he mention how much more it would be. He made a statement that he'd have to rent the equipment longer and that would increase the price, but that was all. We used our entire savings, and had to pull out 10,000 from our 401K to pay him. We now have a dirt lot we can't do anything with due to no funds. The work itself isn't bad. The job was well done. But I'd keep track of exact hours, crews and make everything written down in the contract. This destroyed us financially.

However, the employee assisting me was extremely kind and told me to come back to her window in a couple of hours so she could get me in right away. I spent the time getting breakfast and doing some shopping, then returned to the DMV, took my photo, and continued with my day. Here is what unfolded recently ... My vacation home is a 150 miles away from my main home and I am hardly ever there. So I had to trust Ben completely when he said that he had replaced the well pump motor and that the well was now in good working order. Ben was not happy when I asked if it was okay to pay him in several days giving me time to verify the wells status. His previous temporary fix a week earlier didn't work at all, so I was a bit reluctant to pay this time without checking it out. Despite my hesitancy, he demanded that I pay him immediately via a credit card. So I paid in full based on what I believed was his honorable reputation. The well did work for a couple of watering cycles, but 2-3 weeks later it failed once again. Ben went out to investigate and stated that it was a minor issue and that he would fix it in couple weeks. About 2.5 weeks later, with temps close to 100 degrees and a lot of dying plants, I called Ashley his assistant to convey some urgency. She assured me that he would be out in a few days to make the repairs. Needless to say, he never showed up, nor were any of my increasingly desperate calls to his office ever returned.
