I know the DMV doesn't always have the best reputation, but we have honestly had positive experiences here. The driving examiners may not be overly friendly or chatty, but they are professional and do their job. They weren't rude -- just focused. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars today is because they were running very behind schedule. Her appointment was at 2:00, we arrived at 1:45, checked in within minutes, and we didn't finish and leave until 4:00. The wait was definitely longer than expected. That said, our other visits have been quick, efficient, and the staff has been nice. I think being prepared, having the correct paperwork, and treating the employees with kindness goes a long way. Thank you to the DMV staff for helping make this big milestone a success!

Even though the Oceanside DMV is…read moreonly about eight minutes from me, I chose to go to San Marcos because of my past experiences there. I was able to get in and be helped almost immediately. I needed to update my license with my married name, and the process was incredibly smooth and easy. Unfortunately, the thumb scanner was temporarily down, so I wasn't able to take my photo right away. However, the employee assisting me was extremely kind and told me to come back to her window in a couple of hours so she could get me in right away. I spent the time getting breakfast and doing some shopping, then returned to the DMV, took my photo, and continued with my day. Even with the temporary system issue, the entire experience was efficient, organized, and stress-free.

We bought this property not having any experience with living off a well system. Turns out our tank was not holding air and had a leak in the piping system to our house. Ashley got a service person out right away and scheduled us to re-pipe the main. Ray was a pleasure to work with and very hard worker considering the Valley Center summer heat! We will for sure keep their contact information on hand if we ever need them. Price was right on our budget (ie: I didn't have to do the work). Thank you Ashley and Ray for a great experience.

Here is what unfolded recently ... My vacation home is a 150 miles away from my main home and I am hardly ever there. So I had to trust Ben completely when he said that he had replaced the well pump motor and that the well was now in good working order. Ben was not happy when I asked if it was okay to pay him in several days giving me time to verify the wells status. His previous temporary fix a week earlier didn't work at all, so I was a bit reluctant to pay this time without checking it out. Despite my hesitancy, he demanded that I pay him immediately via a credit card. So I paid in full based on what I believed was his honorable reputation. The well did work for a couple of watering cycles, but 2-3 weeks later it failed once again. Ben went out to investigate and stated that it was a minor issue and that he would fix it in couple weeks. About 2.5 weeks later, with temps close to 100 degrees and a lot of dying plants, I called Ashley his assistant to convey some urgency. She assured me that he would be out in a few days to make the repairs. Needless to say, he never showed up, nor were any of my increasingly desperate calls to his office ever returned.
