The food is great. I had steak tacos which were excellent. The house Margarita was perfect! The basket of tortilla chips were good but the salsa was watery and not too flavorful. The service was fast however our server did not smile and mumbled when asked a question. She was young and possibly part of the family who recruited her into service on a Friday night. She obviously wanted to be somewhere else. The restaurant was decorated in typical Mexican style and had Valentine's Day decorations up already. They had Mexican music playing which did well with the ambience but was a bit too loud for us two old folks. I would definitely go there again !! read more

Tried out this place the other day and the people working are so friendly. The place wasn't very busy for a Thursday night. We ordered to shed a few things. I enjoyed the jalapeño poppers and my spicy margarita. I wish I asked for some spice in my guac, so that's on me! Really enjoyed the plantains. Give this place a try! read more

Very friendly and attentive staff. The good wax done very well... I almost wanted to turn in my birria tacos when I smelled the steak fajitas at the next table!! Beer is served in a frosty glass which was a nice touch. This is a new favorite. For families... the bathroom even had a child seat! read more

We were here after we couldn't get our foot in the door in any Mexican restaurant nearby. It was Cinco de Mayo, and everyone else had a 2 hour wait time. They got us seated quickly and got our drinks running quickly. For food we ordered the quesadilla and fajitas. The food was average and the meat felt a little soggy. The wait time didn't help given the busy evening. I'd try different places before I go here again. read more

We really wanted to like this place, but it was just not our favorite. This was some of the most flavorless Mexican food I've ever had. The staff was pretty nice, but even the margaritas were bland. I was worried when it was dead on a Saturday night, but another family walked in while we were considering other options, so we decided to give it a try. My husband thought his chicken chimichanga was "fine." My beef empanadas were very bland, and were served with a red sauce with no flavor. I ordered black beans that also had no flavor. My son's nachos were "fine," but he also wasn't enthused, and his stomach is upset following his meal. I will say that the restaurant seemed clean & the staff was friendly. Maybe we had an "off" experience, but it definitely wasn't our favorite meal. read more

Mexican food served up in a festive atmosphere with a friendly and attentive wait staff. Overall the food was average and a bit on the bland side. We had empanadas with guac and chips for appetizers. The guac had was pretty much tasteless. Given its appearance I thought perhaps it was premade and they just added some onions to it. The empanada were nice and crunchy but the fillings were mild in flavor and heat. We had the Birria tacos and sauce, which lacked that rich flavor. Rice and beans again just bland. I had high hopes given the authentic Mexican decor and mostly Spanish speaking staff, but was overall disappointed. read more

We went for an early dinner and we're the first ones there. Warmly greeted and quickly seated. A dish of salsa and chips were brought. Pretty good and when we finished the first bowl, they brought another one out. I had the pork chimichangas. There were two, big, nice and crispy. I chose the rice and beans. Could have gotten the salad and Maduras instead. The pork was delicious, as well as the sides. Oh, also came with sour cream and guacamole. Couldn't finish both, so took one home. Hubby had the Pollo Diablo which he devoured. A very good and filling meal. Hope to be able to try the desserts next time. Before we left, more people had arrived. Wouldn't be surprised if they became popular fast! We will definitely be returning. read more

Tried Avocado's in Bethel CT with a friend on a Thursday night. Of course up first was chips and salsa. The chips were addicting and homemade! My friend got an avocado salad (I personally dont eat salad) but it looked good. As my appetizer I got beef and cheese empanadas. The beef was moister than I like. The cheese empanada was melty goodness. My dinner I had garlic shrimp and unlike other Mexican restaurants your side choices are maduros, rice and beans, or a salad. I went with the maduros as my side. I think many will like they have a choice besides rice and beans. The garlic was light to me it was in a creamy sort of yellow type sauce. Im not sure if the sauce may have taken away from the amount of garlic I like. I loved that the shrimp were Big!! Because I was not overly full from dinner I was able to have churros for dessert. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Avocado last night. Service was very good, although the waitress spoke little English, so my Spanish skills came in handy. Not everyone would appreciate that opportunity though! The homemade chips were very good, but the salsa was just average. No kick. And that is my complaint with all the food- it had absolutely no heat. Even the jalapeño margarita wasn't at all spicy- they had removed all of the seeds. The mole and tomatillo salsa were flavorful but mild. The red sauce was extremely bland. We both ordered burritos- mine just with beans, and my husband's with carnitas. Rice and beans and plantains on the side. They were good- but, you guessed it- extremely mild. He smothered his in the tomatillo salsa, and I smothered mine in mole. Both sauces were thin and not great for this use. The food was edible but not memorable. We like some heat in our Mexican food. My husband gets "gringo sweats" when there is minimal spiciness, and he didn't sweat a drop during this meal. Disappointed. Doubt we will be back. read more

I went again with a different friend and wasn't thrilled. Their chips and salsa are still good and the guac is still made fresh and is quite good. This time I ordered fajitas and it was literally an entire onion sautéed with a few strips of bell pepper and some oddly shaped steak pieces that I had to cut up before I could use in the wrap. There was no cheese or sour cream. It should have come with at least lime wedges. It was pretty flavorless. My friend ordered a burrito and said it was ok. The waitress was the same one we had last time and she's sweet, but not especially attentive. We had a nice lunch and I like the atmosphere, but I'm not likely to return. I tried to be positive in my first review because I felt they had promise and were newly opened, but now I'm not so sure. I think there are better Mexican restaurants around. read more

The food was amazing! We got salmon and steak. The complementary salsa that comes with chips was so good! My salmon was cooked perfect and the mash potatoes had lots of flavor. Only thing I didn't like was there was a "wait to be seated" sign and we ended up seating ourselves because no one came. Server was pretty well also. read more

Fresh and tasty food. House tortilla chips and salsa better then all others and I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants in the area. Service is attentive and portions are very generous for the price. Pricing is very competitive for the costs of food in general, especially since it is obvious the chef individually prepares everything from scratch. This place has amazing food and a very friendly staff. I am told the owners our from Mexico and the style, preparation and presentation shows it. I have always been a chubby guy and me to leave full plus a doggy bag will give you an idea of the portions. They have been only open a month and waiting on their liquor to but Do Not Wait. Stopped here with my daughter and wife for lunch. Took a leap of faith with only one review and were pleasantly surprised! Honestly, a little on the pricey side for Mexican, but the portions were big and the food was delicious. I'm not an expert, but tasted like authentic Mexican. I had the enchiladas (cheese, green sauce), my daughter had the steak tacos, and my wife had mixed tacos (chicken, steak, pastor); my wife and I got sides included (salad for her, rice and beans for me; very generous portions!) and everyone was really happy with the flavors and presentation. Even the chips were clearly made on site and the refried beans they used as dipping sauce was perfect. Overall, we were super happy and would definitely come back if we are in the area!
