So, if that wasn't rude enough, after she finished checking out the customer at the register, another person went up in front of us to the hostess/cashier and started talking about baking and what she did wrong in her food and about personal stuff, the hostess replied "Yes, I'm the baker", and she continued to talk to this other person about what she does, etc. and about some personal stuff. After about a minute or so of listening to her personal conversation and life we decided to leave. We drove down the road a few miles and found another family restaurant, "Butch's Place", that we hadn't been to before and we loved it. The service, prices and food we're all great! We'll be coming to the new restaurant instead of the Cakery Café in the future.

It's always a touch humorous to have your bowl arrive, be bigger than everyone else's AND have the luxury of technically being "a salad." It's delicious. Lorie's is also a staple for my family. Whenever I visit, I'm typically adventuring across their breakfast menu, and I've never been disappointed. Service is kind and some of the fastest I've experienced. This spot deserves to be in the Erie "Hall of Fame" restaurant wise, but I feel the fact it is not, adds to the charm. Love this spot and I hope you do too.

I wanted to share my experience I had on my last trip to Avonia tavern. I am a one time resident of the area but moved away and return yearly to fish. The last trip was even better than the rest . My party started out on a Friday night as 6 then 8 then 15 then 20+ Most place would have been overwhelmed . The food came out on time ,and delicious which is amazing because it's made from scratch not like chain Restaurants .. The servers were attentive and right in time .. We Met the owners and and they were as welcoming as the staff.. Would we return? The answer is not only yes but HELL YES!!! Thanks to everyone there see you next year read more

(I think it would have been better on sourdough). I put down $20 and the server asked if I wanted change. That would have been over a 50% tip. She seemed offended when I answered yes.
