Small hometown place. Good food, good portions, and good prices. Lots of locals here. I normally get the small steak salad. Its plenty of food for me. Lots of homemade dressings. French is excellent!

The whole thing was 1/4 the size of the takeout container.

Impeccable serving, food was spectacular and savory. The inside is MUCH better than how it looks from the outside. 100% would recommend.

We got a smorgasbord of stuff (of which items I can't even recall right now, but at least one entree salad and drinks), all of which was excellent. Even our picky daughter enjoyed herself. Solid 5 stars! Today, on my way through town on a work trip, I figured I'd stop in to replicate the magic. I opted for the short rib grilled cheese and subbed out the fries for the side of Brussels sprouts. After ordering, the food was out in about 10 minutes flat. Not a reassuring sign out of the gate... The grilled cheese was supposed to have caramelized onions. Now, I'm NOT a raw onion fan, but I can generally tolerate caramelized or fried onion strings on stuff. As you can see in the photo, the onions are NOWHERE near the color they should be to be caramelized. Sauteed? Sure, but they still had a good amount of crunch to them so not even that deeply cooked. Most of the onion leaves were still connected at the root. Also (and fortunately for me and my onion-loving self), the other half had maybe 2 very tiny pieces of onion. The short rib was done quite well and very tender but came in large chunks instead of being evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. There were also a couple rather large pieces of fat in them that was just too much to try and chew through that I had to spit out. The server was very upbeat and kind though and the inside of the place is amazing. Such a cool vibe. Overall, that's one amazing experience and one less than stellar. Being a mid-week lunch, I'm going to assume the A team wasn't on staff so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely come back for dinner another time for sure but I might look elsewhere for my lunch...

Out of all the fine dining experiences I've had in Erie so far, this would be at the top... food wise and view wise. It's beautiful to sit outside and have the view of the bicentennial tower right next to the water! Now for the dish details! -Buffalo cauliflower was nothing special, your standard Buffalo cauliflower with a side of ranch... great to share for the table. The Roasted Organic Chicken was so juicy and tender, it fell right off the bone. Mashed potatoes and green beans paired perfectly. One of my favorites! -The heirloom tomato salad was a 7/10... I think the tomato wedges needed to be smaller pieces. This salad had the best croutons I've ever had! French onion soup was also a standout for me... definitely recommend! -Lastly Walleye Fish & chips: I think they could've included a bit more fish (it was three tenders), tasted good tho...7/10 as well! I would definitely come back here again and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining waterfront experience in Erie!

I found a table near a tv where my game was showing and asked if I could sit there. The server offered any table in that area, then offered to change any of the tvs in that area to my game. (This doesn't happen at BWWs.or Primantis.) My server, Wes I think, was friendly and attentive. He kept my drink full, but didn't hover or interrupt me watching my game. I ordered the candied bacon BLT with the fresh cut fries. The sandwich was delicious, a perfect BLT. (Although I got it with regular mayo, and the spicy mayo on the side.) The fries were hot and crispy, but a tiny bit too salty. However, they were perfect with ketchup. I also ordered a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. It was pretty good, but I'm pretty sure it was from Sam's Club. This was my first visit, but I will definitely back again during the football season to try their Mac and cheese and burgers.

Once seated, we were served by Yvette who did an outstanding job! She was cheerful, made great suggestions, timely in all aspects of service, & was a great representative of the business by always speaking well of how things were prepared & handled by the staff. The food was excellent. My sampler included meatloaf, ham, & a boneless pork chop. All portions were extremely generous & I feel one would be hard pressed to find a better value for the price of our meals. I was disappointed that the dinner rolls were not homemade but they were still good. While Sugar 'n Spice IS located in a historic building, it's my opinion the decor is far from adequate in conveying without necessarily having to imitate an early 1800s atmosphere. Early 20th century 'grandma' is not the look I would choose & a deep cleaning would bring about substantial improvement. Such changes would easily bump my rating to 5-stars. A hour of travel for a solid dining experience is something my wife & I are willing to do. I will now add Sugar 'n Spice to our list of worthwhile options. May your experience be every bit as pleasant as ours! ------------ Hey, fellow Yelpers! If you've read to this point, please take a moment to rate my review as it helps keep me motivated. Thank you!

This little shop offers a decent amount of options for a quick lunch while also giving you a place to pickup full desserts and even some big honey baked hams (but like, yum). I ordered a standard honey baked ham sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and some wonderful sauce that made me like the sandwich even more (seriously, it was delicious). The sandwich itself didn't come with anything else so I picked up a can of sprite ($1.99) and a bag of BBQ chips (I think $1.50) and it made for a pretty filling meal. Overall, if you want a ham sandwich this is probably where you want to go. The place was clean, the food was good, and the prices weren't bad either. This was inedible and on Tuesday after Thanksgiving I brought all untouched meat. Only three slices had been eaten. It was tasteless, overly salted, and dry. FYI for the small half ham and small turkey breast, about 5-6lbs total cost was $85+. Maybe my expectations were unrealisctic? Store owner negatated my comments, stating that no one has ever complained. Really?!?! Dealing with food and retail store no complaints - I find that unbelieveable!!!!!
