    Chicken Tikka Chaat.

This is the third Awadh location in Columbus, but unlike the other two locations, this newest location serves up Indo Chinese dishes. The setup of the restaurant is counter service, and there are plates, utensils, and to-go boxes in a corner for diners' convenience. We tried several items on our trip here - Chicken Lollipop, Chicken Tikka Chaat, Chicken Manchurian, and the Hakka Beef noodles. Everything tasted decent, although we felt that being Indo Chinese, the dishes could use a bit more "kick" to them. While I like the counter service process, I do not think that these restaurants should be tipped establishments. This is another area where this restaurant can rethink their strategy.

Saw this place after the Columbus Zoo with my dad as some place different. It is Indian/Chinese fusion rather than Indonesian. My dad got the Lamb Chop Suey and I got the Chili Lamb Gravy. They also had lunch specials even on a Sunday but nothing had lamb which we wanted. The service was pretty fast and friendly. The ambiance is fast-casual.

Terrible first time going experience. I ordered on their website and when I arrived they said they did not get my order. I showed the associate my bank statement showing that the order was paid for and placed. She would not make my food or apologize for the inconvenience. She then had to be asked for a number to call and when I did call the supposed owner answered. He gave every excuse as to it being anyone's fault but there's and then said I could not come back another day to get the food and instead he wanted me to wait which I had no more time to wait since being on a lunch break was ruined by trying to explain the issue. Instead of them apologizing and making it right they made excuses. I would absolutely not recommend supporting this business.

Unfortunately we did not like the food here. Placed an online order and it was ready right on time and service was great. The chicken lollipops were really good. We also got the general tsos chicken and chili lamb, which were both really gelatinous and had such a gross texture that we ended up throwing both away :( we tried heating it up as well but it stayed very gooey and fatty, it did not melt at all. It's a shame because it smelled so good so I feel the spices and flavor actually could've been good but it was so gelatinous it was impossible to swallow.

Our server Kelcie, who was 5* by the way, helped us in navigating all the intricacies to the ingredients. Lots of nuance to the menu. Our choices: lamb appetizer, black cod, sirloin, and chocolate mousse; each were tasty, presented well, and excellent dishes. The potato cake on the steak was very different and well done. Our Old Fashion had a nice taste. The place is very small and reservations are a must. The GM Michael came by and chatted us up...to thank us for coming, and glad they were able to accommodate our food needs. Nice touch. Excellent bathrooms. Thanks for that. Be prepared to spend $100 per person. Welcome to the Columbus culinary scene.

The small cozy atmosphere was a delight to enjoy a wonderful meal and conversation. The drinks were exceptionally great and since I'm coming from California, very affordable. The food was delicious, especially the braised beef croquets, chicken friend mushrooms, whipped ricotta, and sourdough. The pork collar and the tare squash were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I requested the sommelier to recommend a wine that would compliment our order and the Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf - du- Pape a fine French wine from the Rhone Valley was our selection. This was a beautiful bottle and fine selection. John, our server was the perfect gentlemen and server with great personality and full of customer service.

Pretty loud and hard to hear, but that vibe is OK for a boil place to me. Only waited about 15 minutes. Two adults, two elementary kids. I like Lees of all the boil places because they have good options for non seafood people too. Both kids found wings, chicken fettuccini, etc. Started with the hushpuppies, about 12 smallish sized but a perfect starter for 4 people. Came with ketchup, I wish they would do a remoulade option. My wife and I split the duo (snow crab, shrimp) and I decided to add a LB of blue crab. Medium homemade juice sauce (always....it's sooo damn good). Snow crab was really good this time, snappy not bendy like some places. knuckles sweet and not overly briny. Perfectly cooked and came apart and out easily. Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. I'm bringing my own next time....serious. Finished with the fried oreos which were a perfect finish to the meal. 6 oreos for $6 was a great price.

Food was good, my only complaint was the amount of sauce, they held back on the sauce I could've boughten the extra sauce but wasn't looking for it to be drenched, but looking for alittle more love in the boil, especially since it was a lot of food and I had to take some home and reheat it. Other than that a great place, nice people good food!

While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.

Today my first lunch option turned out to be carry out only, so I came here. It's nothing fancy. It's a small strip mall Chinese place, but it's authentic Chinese, not Chinese American. The service is, well, a little disorganized; friendly, but perhaps with some confusion from the language barrier. And I think they mostly do carry out and don't have too many dine-ins. Very interesting menu, loads of things I wanted to try. I went with one almost at random. "Sauerkraut braised beef sirloin noodles with soup." It's not sauerkraut, it's bok choy and vegetables, not fermented. And the beef is mostly beef tripe. Very tender, but still, of course, a little chewy. Excellent broth, excellent noodles, loads of veggies. Huge, steaming, fragrant bowl. I wish I could've captured the scent in addition to the photos. So good. Involuntary moans. It was so big I couldn't finish it, and I came in hungry. Price was reasonable for quality and quantity. I will definitely be back to try other things.

Unfortunately the…read more'create your own' option is a-la-carte off the menu so you pay for each ingredient individually, meaning it ends up being quite expensive. From what I know, malatang restaurants usually have open coolers where you can choose most of your ingredients and they charge by weight. The set malatang combos do seem like a much better deal, but the combos didn't appeal to me personally. The malatang itself was very delicious. The broth was very cloudy, perfect for a bone broth. The portion size was massive, possibly the biggest bowl of soup I've had in Columbus, and it was absolutely full of the ingredients I chose (lamb, lotus root, crown daisy, enoki mushrooms, two kinds of tofu, bean noodles). I chose the 'regular spicy' option but didn't find it spicy at all. The employees were happy to bring out a huge bowl of good quality chili oil for me to add, and it really made the dish. To be honest, I probably wont get malatang here again since it's so expensive, I'll wait for a restaurant that specializes only in malatang (I'll be on the lookout in NYC and Tokyo soon). But, I'm very interested in coming back to try their other dishes, since this one was such high quality. Bathroom was a bit shabby but the food is good enough that that doesn't matter.
