Thank you so much to Awards by Paul for bringing my dream locket to reality!!! I had been on the hunt for the perfect locket for a bit now and finally found by Vintage Yordy, I had such a specific vision on how I wanted this locket to look & thought the process was going to be easier to bring it to a reality but I was wrong. I specifically wanted an old English 'B' & coordinates on the back, I had gone to multiple jewelers and none of them could give me exactly what I wanted, only one or two jewelers claimed they'd be able to do it but was way to pricy to justify, one of them told me I would need to get it laser engraved due to it being sterling steel & wasn't provided with any alternatives, so I went on the hunt, which surprisingly led me to calling multiple laser engravers and award shops, all of them turned me down except for Awards by Paul. I was given a heads up that they weren't 100% sure if it would show up or how it would turn out and offered me multiple options to make sure I was satisfied & they definitely did exactly that! I came in on a Monday to get my locket turned into the shop & was contacted by Friday that my locket was ready and I was filled with so much joy over how beautiful it turned out, exactly how I envisioned it! I'm not sure if the shop has had experience engraving jewelry made of sterling steel but we both took a chance to give it a try and I'm so happy I did! I'll definitely be coming back to awards by Paul and be recommending the shop to everyone! The pricing is so much more reasonable than any of the jewelers that told me they'd be able to do it & the process was so fast! What a hidden gem. I recently had a perpetual plaque prepared here and service was quick and amazing. When I arrived, I was completely overwhelmed and did not have the slightest idea of what I wanted other than a plaque for my fantasy basketball league. I was immediately greeted and shown the many options. I was not up sold on any unnecessary or expensive items/add-ons. Initially I was going to have a perpetual plaque and a trophy prepared so that the current year's winner could carry around the trophy (a la the Stanley Cup). I am glad that I had someone at Awards by Paul talk me out of that and was directed to the perfect plaque that had a photo frame display. This will be perfect for the current year's winner. Communication was done in person and via email. I found all contact to be professional and warm. I was even given a discount on the name tags prepared for the plaque. Now that I've discovered this great shop, I feel like walking around giving deserving person a plaque just so I can come back. read more

Warning: This guy is a complete nut! I cannot believe how horribly I have been treated by Paul at Awards by Paul. I requested a rush order and was told there would be a $48 rush charge, to which I agreed. Late in the afternoon on the day my order was to be delivered, I received a message from Paul that I needed to drive over to the shop and pick my order up. I responded that I was disappointed, since that was not what we had agreed to. It was at that point that the verbal abuse began. Paul's messages became very aggressive and defensive. He eventually agreed to deliver my order, but acted as if he was doing me some huge favor. He then charged me an additional $100 shipping charge. When I complained about the charge and told him I would be Yelping about my experience, this was his response: "you are unbelievable; you ought to examine yourself in the mirror; you sit back with this sense of entitlement that we somehow should fall at your feet and worship your business. And you act as if you are spending your money when in fact it is not your money; get over yourself; we have been in business for 37 years but doing right by our customers, producing quality and great service; and because I wouldn't bow to your demands, you think I am going to be upset? Yelp away all you want; good customers know when they have a good thing. That $100 freight comes right out of my pocket, I have to pay it but it is your freight, not mine, so yes I will remain adamant that you pay it because that is the right thing to do. I have not lost a customer that I care to bust my butt for that is for sure; you have lost a good vendor, one who is dependable and excellent. So I think you are the one loosing here. So yes, let's get the facts straight, we don't want your business nor do we need it; Go bother another vendor with your bad attitude. Maybe they will roll over for you. Good riddance." I would recommend steering clear of this place unless you like being randomly charged without warning and then verbally abused if you complain about it. read more

Truly a gem facing Anaheim Blvd. ABP fits right in with the old town, mom and pop Anaheim vibe while only being a block away from the more urbanized Packing District area. I've gone from place to place to get awards (fantasy football oriented lol) engraved in the past and have never truly left happy. That was until I discovered APB. I recently moved in a block away and luckily spotted this place while walking to the Packing District one day. I was greeted with a smile from several staff members and really appreciated the attention to detail that Paul himself showed to my small request. I was e-mailed a proof within a day and all in all the engraving only took a few days. In my past experiences with other places, I would have to wait close to two weeks. They were often too busy, and because the plaque I needed engraving had a curved surface, they used that to justify the time delay. I'm a terrible procrastinator, so thanks to Paul and staff for the quick, quality service. PS: The pricing was well below what I was used to. I used to go here since i was the president of a high school club and needed awards for those end of the year banquets. Right when you walk in, you should be greeted right away with 100% help for all your needs, whether they be paper awards, plaques, gavels, and much much more. A couple of complaints though, the parking is a little weird as you have to pull over while driving to a curb which might not always have parking spots. and theres an old man inside, not sure if he's paul, is rude and always giving the cold shoulder. the assistants are an absolute dream though. go here for your awards. read more

Honestly , I will only write a review when a place did a great job and left me very happy or if it was sooo bad that I took time to let it be known . These guys are the best. Especially Paul. Very helpful , very courteous. Most importantly he knew what he was talking about. I went in looking for a fantasy football trophy with a design in mind. He didn't have anything in stock or in showroom that I liked so I showed him wht I was looking for . Within couole days he had the best looking trophy I could ask for. Where he went over the top was the double base he found for me to use .. even when he went on vacation for over a week communication was still great with his son who was at that point in charge. Definetly recommend this place to anyone needing work done. And for the record I have no clue where other reviewers get that Paul could not be kind or courteous . I have been doing business with this company for a few years now and my experience has always been positive and the work that is done is always good. This year, however, I was very disappointed when my invoice was $60 more than the original quote. It was explained that I was not quoted the correct price, but rather than apologize and honor the quote, I was informed that the price could only be adjusted by $16. I understand that people make mistakes, but I'm not sure why the customer (who didn't make the mistake) has to pay for them. It makes me sad. read more
