Fantastic company! Hassle free and so easy to work with. I did my research online for an awning after building a deck on the back of the house this past summer and decided we needed an awning. I found Awnings by Clark and looked through the website and liked what I saw and read and reached out to them. They returned my call a few days later (I called on a weekend) I set up a consultation at home and the sales agent showed up on time and was very professional and answered all of my questions with a satisfactory answer and explanations. He showed me awnings color samples and we selected the frame color and awning color and went from there. He explained that it takes about 8-10 weeks to make it and that they would call to set up the installation date around that time. Well temper actually ended up being quicker than the 8-10 weeks called to set a date for install. The woman setting my appointment explained it would take 3-4 hours to install and that if the day of installation turned out to be a bad weather day they would need to move it. That is completely understandable. My install day came and they ended up showing up earlier than my scheduled appointment and called to ask if it would be okay which I said it was but I needed an hour to get home from work and asked if they could grab lunch and kill some time, they said they could and they will see me soon. The installation crew showed up and were professional and courteous and explained the process of hanging the awning from the house and as they got it set up they would let know so they could ask for my input. Once they were completely finished they showed me how to use the Manuel crank to bring the awning in and out should the power fail, they showed me the open and close remote control and how to change the batteries on the wind sensor should the batteries die and how the awning will act if the batteries are dead. From start to finish the process was stress free and handled professionally and quickly. The awning we had installed was a motorized retractable awning with remote and opens to cover a 14' X 18'6" area. We paid for the optional wind sensor that detects winds that get up to 20 MPH and will retract itself so the wind won't damage it. The price tag at first seemed steep but after seeing it, using the remote and seeing the amount of sun it blocks I am extremely pleased with it and believe it is worth every penny. read more

Awnings by Clark installed some security shudders on my roof top deck and did a good job although, to be honest, within 1 year of installation, the awnings broke and I had to have them out to fix the problem. While Gavin was there to fix the problem, I asked him about a retractable sun shade pergola for the roof top and he gave me an estimate. He told me that this oral estimate would not be enforceable, that he would follow it up with a written estimate that would be formal. It took me prodding him to get the written estimate and then, when I received it, the written estimate was almost twice as much as the original estimate. I emailed back & forth with Gavin, asking why there was such a difference and whether or not we could get closer to the original estimate he gave me, and he simply never responded. Had an awning installed in July 2015. In 2018 December the crank mechanism broke. I was informed even though the warranty was for 8 years I have to pay $150.00 for them to come out and look at it and additional for labor. Not worth the $3120.00 I paid for it. Diane Young read more

I purchased two awnings from Awnings from Clark and spent nearly $15,000.00 and was informed at the time of purchase that there is a five year warranty. Well as it turns out there must be fine print in the agreement so I suggest for anyone to read it very carefully before negotiating the final price. Basically, the five year warranty is going to only be a one year warranty because there are additional charges, which are astronomical to the extent of not even having a warranty. I would and always considered Awings by Clark a 5 star rated company, but now being informed after the fact about these service charges feel misled. My recommendation is to negotiate service calls into the price prior to entering into a contractual agreement to ensure the warranty serves its purpose. read more

We had two standing seam awnings installed by Clark this spring. So we've had them now for several months and they perform very well and they look great and definitely enhance curb appeal. Also, it's nice to have a dry spot by our doors. Gavin was excellent to work with, and helped me work through the many questions I had with the online Fairfax County permit I got. I can't rate the company yet because I don't know how I feel about the product. My Retractible awning install has fallen short of what I expected it to be. The first time it was installed, I wasn't home. I had my sister at my house because I had to work. I came home to find a gaping hole between the actual cloth of the awning and the bracket up top not lined up at all. Very disappointing and surprising. I couldn't believe that they actually installed it and left it like that. Like, how do you walk away from something like that and think that it's okay? It's a $5k product. Since then, they've been trying to fix it. The cloth was sent back to the factory to have it re-cut. Brought it back and the gap on both sides are a bit better but you can clearly see it isn't leveled, a bit anticlimactic. They've offered to send it back again but at this point, I don't know what to do with it. I was so excited to have a quality product installed. Now, I'm a bit worried about the long term quality of the product and reading about their warranty issues, leaves me even more worried. I gave them 2 stars only because of the staff in the office, they've been good to me with getting the crew here to fix the problem. read more

Excellent service from beginning to end. When I called to inquire about their services, I spoke to a pleasant and informative person who scheduled my consultation. I then met with someone who came to my home and measured it for the awning. He explained the process and helped me with selections. He was also patient with my process, as I had to get final approval from my condo association. Then, several weeks later, two guys came to install the awning. Bad bad bad service. Requested 2 estimates for commercial buildings in Manassas Virginia. Only received one. First the sales person said he forgot!!! Seriously!!! He forgot??? Then he blamed it on the factory. I called 1.5 months later to follow up, was told I would receive the estimate in a week. Never received it. I called again (weeks later)...I was told by the Manager that I would, rain or shine, receive a quote or a follow up call. It seemed there was a tsunami because I never received a quote or a call. I call today, and the office manager, ask for the highest authority to talk to, since my faith in management for Awnings by Clark is almost extinct,...the office manager stated that she became "offended" as a result of my frustration. So I told her politely, "it's okay, I won't bother you any more, I'll just go elsewhere"...and hung up! Really bad bad bad business. read more
