If I could give zero stars I wouldn't even give that when rating this company and their complete lack of customer service and communication. We met with Chris on October 13, 2025, to discuss replacing an exterior patio door at our home in Leesburg. After we reviewed the proposal, we signed the contract on October 15 and paid the 50% deposit with the expectation, per Chris, that our door would be installed within 6 - 8 weeks. We never heard back from Chris and had to contact him OURSELVES on November 28. At that time, Chris let us know Bob, the installation manager, would contact us the following week. It was shortly after that Chris let us know he NEVER PLACED THE ORDER for the door as discussed on October 15. He then scheduled Mark Arnesen to come to our home on December 5 to confirm measurements for the door and we again believed the order was placed. We heard from Chris again on December 10 to let us know the door would arrive the week of December 22, to then receive an email minutes later telling us the shipping date was updated to January 8. All that to be said, we have not heard from Chris since December 13 when we requested a discount on this order for this major inconvenience. I then emailed the owner, Mark Russow, on January 8, but of course, received NO RESPONSE. We are now going on over 3 months and still do not have our door replaced...but yet I received an invoice for our final balance today...with ZERO DISCOUNT APPLIED. I am more than understanding of the ordering process and delays due to the time of year/ holidays, but I am not understanding of the lack of customer service and communication. We purposefully were trying to work and support local businesses, but I cannot recommend enough to avoid working with this company. read more

Would love to write a review but I can not get them to return my calls. I met the owners and they were very nice. Their son contacted me and we scheduled a time for the walk through. He was great, took a bunch of notes and pictures. Told me that we would have a quote in a few days. It has been over 2 months and nothing from them. I have called multiple times and left VMs each time, I have sent emails to Tom, I have sent texts and I have gotten nothing in return. I like buying local where I can and supporting family businesses but this type of communication makes it difficult. If a company does not want to work on a house, please just say that and we can both move forward. read more

Tom was my sales person. He was personable and professional. I received the quote within a day or two of his measuring day. I asked for a premium product initially and realized it wasn't in my price range at all. He reworked promptly the quote for a different slider at a lower price point. I was having an inner slider removed as well as the outer slider replaced and wasn't expecting any door company to do any of the trim/painting after removal. He also stated his people could do that no problem. I had had multiple quotes his came within range of the others (better than most of them) but with a fiberglass door instead of vinyl which from what I could research is a better material. Because of COVID-19 the wait was 10 weeks out and the install was done within the time he quoted. The install men came on the day promised and were polite. They replaced the outside door, removed the inside door, and installed and painted trim. It looked so good I handed the guy the second check before he handed me the keys for the outside (now only) slider. The only thing I am a little iffy on is if the new Marvin door will last. It was immediately after installation allowing water into the inner sill for a stationary piece of the slider through a hole between the moving door piece's base/sill (it seemed to be a manufacturing defect?). The company did respond promptly and fixed that issue, but I'm not sure it will be a permanent solution. read more

No attention to detail. Requested a quote and it took a few days for a quote to come in. Quote was missing 11 windows and based on the missing windows prob about 19K over from the place where we needed up buying windows from. Salesperson has been mentioned in several reviews and didn't really talk about the windows he was selling but ask what we wanted and then ended up measuring the house. read more

This company had a change in management a few years ago and has become a hot mess. We had the misfortune to have bought an expensive ProVia door from them some years back under old original owners, who were great. ProVia quality turned out to be very shoddy, especially the cheaply-made hardware, which fades and rubs off. Dealing with the new management to replace the awful hardware has been a nightmare. They are inattentive and unprofessional, to say the least. If you want to save yourself aggravation, don't buy ProVia and don't deal with Hodges. It's a shame because years ago they were a great local company. read more

Our house, built in the mid 1950's, had the original windows. It was time. We are so happy that we chose Hodges to replace all our windows, many that had not, or could not, be opened for many years. After careful research, we decided to go with Hodges. We are so glad we did. After discussing our needs with their rep, Harry Shovlin, he arranged for the salesman & expert measurer, Mark Arneson, to meet us. He came with all the necessary information, pamphlets, costs, etc. It was a no pressure meeting and we were not told that if we make the decision that day we would receive special pricing. The cost was reasonable and affordable. The down payment was lower than we expected and the installation day was amazing! We thought it would take several days to complete, but Chris Spicer and his assistant, Edgar, steam-rolled through the installation process and left us speechless. Both Harry and Mark came to our house during installation to ensure all was going smoothly. We are thrilled with our new windows as we can now enjoy fresh breezes with open windows that are easy to open, easy to clean and look absolutely beautiful. Their attention to detail was amazing to watch. I highly recommend this company and appreciate the quality, service and professionalism! read more

The experience with Hodges has been superb. They have superior products and excellent customer care. The windows and balcony door for our condo were replaced. These were all custom ordered due to the size requirements. Brian was the sales rep. I used Hodges to replace 6 large picture windows in the house. Very pleasant to deal with, good selection and a fair price on the windows themselves. Two complaints: I was charged $3850 for labor. It took 2 men six hours to do the job. That's $321 per work hour. Secondly, paint on the window sill was damaged at each window. I like the product and I liked all of the people but I was disappointed regarding those two issues. read more

If I can give a zero star, I would. I have purchased the expensive Marvin casement windows throughly this company, however, when the windows came, the hinged directions and opening angles of windows are incorrectly. They failed to deliver what the customers' requests for the purchase. The sale person was Brian Whitehouse. I'm not sure if he lacks of listening skills or incompetence to input the data in Hodges windows and doors ordering system incorrectly not as what I requested. They don't accept their errors and told us to repurchase and pay for the new purchase if wanted the way we asked at the first time. These are Marvin windows, not an inexpensive purchase, easily fir them to say to throw them away and pay for a new order. So unbelievable, there is a bad worker like Brian at a company like Hodges windows and doors. We ended up with bad windows and the appearance for our new extension. We paid for 90 degree opening and they came with only about 45 degree opening. We paid for the swing out direction to the left. They sent the window swing to the right with the cranks on the left side when we are right handed to open the panel to the right. The salesman Brian scrambled my the panels in the incorrect directions, single panel to the right instead of on left side and the double panels on the right side instead of on left side. As I said in the beginning, not sure if he's incompetent or lacks of listening skills for the customers' requests. Don't waste your money with this Hodges windows and doors company if you need to purchase windows or doors for your renovation, new homes, or extensions. You should avoid the company's worker guy name Brian Whitehouse if you have to make purchases with Hodges windows and doors. He's the worst nightmare. read more

Hodges cane greatly recommended and gave us great insight into the type of door we needed when we spoke to them. Unfortunately there was no follow up. After they came to measure my door, I never received an estimate. I then emailed them to ask for the estimate and got no reply. Then we went to the store and was told that the contractor that measured my door was the only one that could help me with the order. He was out on assignment and gave a quick over view of our measurement but then He never called us back. even after I left a voicemail asking him to! Guess I am stuck with Home Depot. At least they seem to want my business!! read more

We were very pleased with our overall experience in dealing with the owner (Mark) on the door selection, contract, scheduling and installation. We had interviewed 4 other door companies and chose Hodges for many reasons: Mark's knowledge of the product, quick turn around time for the proposal, Provia install experience & Platinum dealer status, referrals from other neighbors on NextDoor, able to see the product in their showroom and competitive price. His install team came on time, were very professional, did a quality job and cleaned up after themselves (even brought their own trash can). We would definitely use them again and recommend Hodges for future home improvement projects. read more

They did send out someone to look at the job within just a few days. However, I never heard back from him. Over the course of the ensuing month, I emailed him and called him several times, leaving messages on office and cellphone voice mail boxes. I never got a response. Completely unprofessional and rude. If they don't want my business, they should at least have the decency to call me back and tell me so. read more

However, since I sought out this company based on their excellent reviews I thought I would share. I had contacted a couple of 'other' companies prior to calling Hodges's. Interestingly enough, because I only wanted two windows, and didn't want to finance something, those other guys and their high pressure sales, didn't have time for my business. Tom Langley met with me, clearly reviewed my options, timelines and promptly provided me a quote without any high pressure sales. Mark and John worked with me on scheduling. My husband and I contacted Hodges Windows and Doors to get an estimate for replacing two exterior doors. They sent a very nice man out promptly to do the estimate (Tom) and we really liked him and his thoughtful approach to the best options for our unusual modern home. We told him in person that we'd like to use Hodge's services, and he said he'd send us three pricing options within a week based on what we'd discussed. We ceased conversations with other door companies based on wanting to move forward with Hodges. Unfortunately, we never heard back from them. Over the course of the following month, we emailed and called both Tom and the mainline several times, leaving messages on office and cellphone voice mail boxes. We never got a response, not even a message to say that they'd decided not to move forward with a bid despite promising an estimate and saying in person that they'd like to do the project. We wasted a lot of time and now have to start over in our search. I wish they would have at least done us the courtesy to let us know that they wouldn't be available. read more

Hodges is great. We've worked with them on two occasions. Once to replace our old, energy-inefficient front and back doors, and another time to install windows in our basement (one new, one a replacement). Tom helped us sift through the many options and find some beautiful solutions to what we were looking for. After seeing good online reviews, I visited the Hodges showroom in Falls Church to see about replacing the exterior French doors in my kitchen with a sliding door. The salesperson was helpful and we scheduled a time for him to come and take measurements for my door replacement project. He came at the scheduled time, measured, and told me about a few different products that would work. Said he would email an estimate, but never did. I emailed the salesman a few times, and then called the showroom. I spoke to him and he said he thought he sent estimate, but would send again right away and follow up with me. After a few days, I still did not receive estimate. I emailed again and finally received an estimate on two products that were MUCH higher than he had told me when he had come to do the measurements. Sorry, Hodges. This is not a good way to conduct business. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Hodge's team is awesome! We've used them for three projects in the past 3-4 years, and are about to embark on another project at our current home. Service and product is excellent, both pre and post installation, our estimator was accurate and had good suggestions, and the installers were on time and careful to avoid mishaps with the existing walls etc, .
