To my understanding, these services had no direct connection to the starting complaint that brought her to your store. The battery--the component most closely related to the issue--was ultimately replaced as well in the end. No parent should have to worry that their child will be treated differently simply because they lack automotive knowledge. Unfortunately I was not there to advise and protect her from these vultures.
