Took my car in here and they diagnosed it as a sensor issue but weren't able to detect which sensor because transmission isn't normally their area. A Service Station with integrity and honesty!!! I recently brought my daughter's car to Mr. Tire in Manalapan to check on a leak that had occurred the day before. Mr. Tire did their assessment of the car, found not only an oil leak but the source of the leak as well. The provided step by step of what needed to be done including two hours of estimated labor to complete what was oil everywhere in the chassis of the car including the brake pads. After their review the recommendation was to bring the car to the dealership as the faulty parts which were anticipated to be needed could be under warranty - which they were! Mr. Tire completed the cleanup and oil change to make the car drive-able to the dealership. Their cost was less than anticipated since the clean up was completed in less time than originally anticipated. Furthermore, Mr. Tire wrote up their assessment which we were able to share with the dealership. Brendan was the manager on duty and technicians (Zachary?) on Sunday were professional and extremely helpful. They took the time to explain the entire service process, outlining what needed to be done and providing clear, upfront estimates. What I appreciated most was their honesty and integrity! The Manalapan Mr. Tire team has set a new standard for automobile service in my eyes. Their exceptional customer service, expertise, and attention to detail are unmatched. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of car maintenance or repairs. Brought my car in April because a/c wasn't working. They checked car and stated leaks had been fixed, coolant added but a/c compressor did not work. To get A/C working would cost $1600. After a lot of debate, service man said that it would work for a year guaranteed and likely a lot longer. Agreed to pay and do the repairs. Brought car back in early July because A/C stopped working. Ken, office manager, stated had many leaks needing repair, would cost an additional $1000. When I mentioned about the guarantee, stated no such guarantee was made which was not true. Very poor customer service. Will not return. read more

He sent a very nice young guy out to change my tire and bring tire back to shop.. ended up being a screw in tire. Could have really charged me a lot but he didn't .. very honest and professional. I don't know how well they service cars, but I can tell you that their customer service and desk representation is complete garbage. I made two online appointments to get a $20.00 oil change as listed on the site. The appointments should have been for 10 am and 1 pm. When I scheduled, I got the first emails letting me know they got my requests. After Mr. Tire opened, I got another pair of emails letting me know my appointments were confirmed. I got there for my appointment only to be told that "the system" glitched out and overbooked both time slots. Seemed unlikely since the emails came in after someone was manning "the system." Was told it would be a few hours. Then I spent about 10 minutes at the desk with the worker, trying to get checked in. He then asked for coupons and I told him the price was advertised on the site, not as a coupon. He told me that I was going to need to print out both coupons for each appointment. Reading this back, it doesn't sound that bad. But honestly, the guy behind the desk had a shit attitude. Pro Tip: When your "system" is glitching, you don't know what the fuck you are doing, you are inconveniencing your customers, it's probably best to accuse them of "over exaggerating." read more

Very honest, trustworthy and nice. I had a bent nail in my tire and went in for a patch. I was given an estimate for the patch placement. When the nail was removed it did not end up puncturing the tire. The tire was thoroughly checked and replaced. I left with no payment and a "see you next time". And I will be back! Had one of the best business experiences auto associated. Had some pretty serious or at least I thought were serious tire issues. Tim greeted me with a smile, a firm handshake and a don't worry about anything attitude he had it all under control. What I thought could be a serious problem was nothing more than a bent rim from hitting a pothole that my wife never told me about. While I was there they kept me updated as to how long I'd be there, what they were doing and how we can go about fixing the issue. The mechanic also found a screw in my tire and in no time patched my tire. Since the car is a lease and I have rim insurance the dealer will replace my rim - thank god I decided to buy into the extra charge or it could have cost me thousands in new rims from the dealer. I felt very comfortable, assure and confident in the way my car was serviced. Oil change coming up in about 1200 miles and I'll be back for anything they can do on all my cars/suvs! A big thanks to Tim and the team - top notch, straight forward and imo honest. 04/03 - went back this past weekend and boy was I taken care of - best of the best as Tim and his team did such a great job, done right and quick while making me feel at home. read more

I spent over $360 for two tire replacement, as well as an alignment. They did not complete alignment on all 4 wheels, because they didn't have the part, but they just charge me full price for the alignment. I asked about it at the counter, and the guy gave me an attitude. Its the unshaven, overweight guy with glasses. Looked hispanic to me. read more

Representative Jason of Mr. tire store attempted to overcharge me 1000 dollars. He knew I was stuck and quoted me a ridiculous price for the problem and also suggested additional work the car actually did not require. I subsequently towed my car to my local NY State registered repair facility at which the required repair was done for less than half the price quoted by your franchise. When I advised Mr Tire that I would remove my car he claimed he spent two hours and charged me 106 dollars to diagnose a problem that took an honest mechanic less that 5 minutes. Don't trust these guys with your car. My daughter was going to college and they trashed her brakes. When she went to school and tried to drive home, they found that her brake master cylinder was destroyed along with her caliber a her brake system failed. Had to fly her home because there were no brakes when she tried to come home. read more

I took my car to Mr Tire, Manalapan NJ. ,route 9S for 4 tires ,wheel alignment and oil change.When I went to pick up my car ,was documented I need struts and steering linkage changed.A wheel alignment could not be done if it really needed these parts.So either way they were trying to rip me off.They also said I need a new timing belt which I just had replaced.I have this in writing.What they did not know I worked on my cars for many years and I have a friend who was a licensed mechanic.I will never go back. read more

After waiting for an hour beyond my appointment time they took my husbands car in. 25 minutes later the car was brought out and I was told that the oil change and the tire rotation (free because we purchased our tires there) were done. I paid for the oil change and returned to the car only to find that the tire rotation was not done. I had marked the tires! I went back inside asking the manager to come outside. He measured the tread and told me that it was fine and a rotation was not necessary so they didn't do it. I reminded him that I had in fact been told that it was done. If I hadn't marked the tires I wouldn't have ever known. Waiting is one thing................lying to me is another story. They don't need my business. read more

Went in for a routine oil change and they called me and told me my control arms and struts needed to be replaced as they were "shot". They said it would be about 600 for the control arms which needed to be done right away and about 600 for the struts. I only had about 50k miles on my car, but trusted them since they were the "experts". I drive my car a lot for work and didn't want to risk it. Yesterday I called a well reviewed car repair place on yelp and asked for a quote on new struts. The guy asked me how many miles were on my car, and when I told him, he said he doubted I needed new struts. Brought my car for him to look at today and did a test drive where he proceeded to tell me my car is perfectly fine and Mr. Tire ripped me off. DON'T TRUST THESE SCUMBAGS! read more

First and last time I will use this service center, had a flat over the weekend and left my car there over night. I called the next afternoon to see if my car was done and the gentleman said no but he will get to it, 5 hours go by so I called again considering it was a Sunday and they closed soon, the gentleman Tim proceeded to yell at me and reprimand me for calling twice and asking about my vehicle. Never have I been treated so poorly for asking a simple question considering I have to plan my day around picking my car up. The customer service I received was horrible and I hope no one ever has to go through it. I will never be coming back. read more

Brought in my car for oil change and tire rotation while visiting my sister for lunch next door. After picking up the car and getting back I do a check around and under the hood. I notice immediately my OEM factory oil cap is not on my engine but a cheap plastic flimsy POS cap is on instead so I call up thinking they mixed up some caps. They tell me that "they forgot to mention it when I picked up the car" but while doing the oil change the hood fell on the cap and broke it LOL so you are telling me the pro's who do 1,000s of oil changes happen to break a cap??? Yes they replaced it but it's nowhere near the quality of my OEM! read more

I had a great experience today -probably made my week . I use Mr Tire in Manalapan and North Brunswick as live in one and visit the other for my family . Today I was given a great deal on new rotors and the labor fee was waived . I never heard of anyone waiving that fee , I didn't even ask for it . They were just giving me a good deal because I am a returning customer who has had a bit of work done keeping her Nissan Rogue running right . I will continue using Mr Tire because they are fair and honest. I have never walked away feeling taken advantage of . They always explain why or what you may need, and they don't lie . Took a bit of waiting even though I had an appointment, however, for a tire shop this is one of the best experiences Ive had. I felt they were honest, I took my car in for an alignment, but it needed more (two new front tires) that was also throwing off the car. Any other shop I would've rolled my eyes at, but these guys took me into the garage with the car up, the mechanic shows me the tires on the car, and explained to me the impact it was having on the drive. I could clearly see and understand what he was speaking about, which was a completely new experience. I felt the price was fair, and they have discount coupons on their site. They also had a couple pizza pies they had ordered for what I presume is their lunch, and the guy offered me a slice while I was waiting--which I thought was very kind! I would recommend. read more

I'm hoping that things get better at this but it is usually a disappointment. They don't care about you and it shows. I dropped my tire off this morning and when they called me to tell me it was ready I asked if they could put it on the car for me at around 5:00 PM when I went over. They said sure. But when I went there - they said it would be an hour or more wait. They couldn't even guarantee that they could do it that night. Really? So I'd wait all night and have to go home without my tire on the car. I'll take it to another shop to have the tire put on the car. read more

This place is the sketchiest car shop I've ever seen. Before I used their services, my tail light was working, and when I picked it up the next day and it wasn't working. I figured I didn't need to inspect the car myself after they handled it because it was a car shop, and I got pulled over for it. Also, when I picked up my car after running diagnostics, they just took my money, gave me the receipt, and threw me out the door. I wouldn't mention this except for the fact that they said the previous day they would break it down for me and explain what it meant. I had to interview them about what it meant and suck the information out of them. Not to mention since they're a mom and pop shop, you can't exactly try to get so much as an apology. They clearly don't care, and STS is just a little ways away from here, so it's not worth the hassle and stress. This place needs to close down. read more

Advertised oil change $9.99, showed up and it was not that price. Had to do it anyway so left my car, told me an hour or so. Have my friend drove me back to his place, and we waited 5 hours for them to call me. Was not even busy when I went there. Went home, opened the hood and see a really dirty non brand filter, makes me think if it's even a new filter. Checked the oil and it's not the usual clearish brown like I always have had in the past from other oil changes. The color I saw was BROWN. Stay away, there are many other oil change places that does a better job and not make you wait 5 hours for a 10 minute job. read more

My car was dead right by this shop. They replaced a Y heating hose and overcharged both in parts ($300+) and labor ($250). The parts only costs below $100 online and take less than 30 min to replace it. If there is another option, stay away from this shop! read more
