On a Saturday evening, I was unexpectedly looking for a hookah spot so I hopped on the trusty Yelp app. It had been at least a year and a half since I last smoked hookah, so this is a rare occasion for me. Axis Hookah Lounge was the closest one to where I was, and the reviews were solid, so I made my way over. They're located in a shopping center along with several other businesses including a Latin club. Parking wasn't an issue. Ambiance (4/5): While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is pretty nice. There is plenty of seating, mostly comfortable red couches. Which makes for a nice way to kick back and relax. There are also some tables if you'd prefer that instead. The seating is spaced out well enough where you have a little bit of privacy. And they were also playing music while I was there. Service (3.5/5): Pretty much your standard service. We were greeted upon entering, allowed to pick our seats, we ordered promptly, and the waiter brought our hookah to us. I had to proactively order drinks and close out, but overall, the service was fine. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior, so no food for me. I did notice they have crepes, but I'm not sure if they have more than that. Drinks (3/5): I had a Gatorade. They have various cans and bottles including water, La Croix, Coke, pineapple juice, and various other soft drinks and juices. No alcohol here. Which isn't uncommon as many hookah spots are Middle Eastern. Some hookah spots have alcohol and some don't. I prefer spots that do. Now to what's most important, the hookah. Pretty much your standard options. They have a good number of their own creations or you can create your own mixing fruit flavors, mint, etc. We went with one of the creations and hung around for about an hour or so. ended up coming across this place. this location is space. the couches are really comfortable. the service was great. the music was good too they played r& b, hip hop and rap. a perfect vibe. the hookah was so smooth. they also have a pool table. id definitely be back. read more

I had never had any issues with this place before--in fact, I even stopped by one day just to chill and build a connection with the owner after he initially reached out to me about DJ services. When I followed up with him about DJing in March, we weren't sure how the turnout would be. Out of kindness, I offered two pricing options: if the night went well, he'd pay my regular rate; if not, I'd accept the lower rate. I also created the event flyer myself and offered to pay for my own drinks and hookah. Normally, I charge a set price for hookah lounge parties, but I wanted to show support and help out. Since 03/30/2025, I've been reaching out to the owner because, to this day, I still haven't received my payment. The only replies I've gotten were things like "I've been busy, I'll send it soon" or "I'll take care if it " --but nothing ever came through. I went out of my way to make this event work, but it's clear the owner doesn't value people's time or effort. I gave him one last chance and told him I wouldn't be reaching out again. If he was going to pay me, it was up to him--but instead, he ghosted me, showing he had no real intention of paying for my services. I won't be returning, and I strongly advise any vendors or artists working with him to get paid up front. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Found this spot online and stopped by. It was $25 for the hookah I got. Flavor...Nothing fancy. Much seating room. Open space. We just grabbed a soda and another drink out the fridge and sat. He brought us the hookah and chilled out. After and hour and some change, we left. I walked to the register and paid. I would be back. read more

Best bowls, best vibes, and best service. Jay makes the perfect bowls. Not too packed and not empty. Just right. They have comfy couches and good music. Good throwback jams. They have a DJ on Saturdays and bigger groups come in which is cool. They are always roaming around chatting with other people and making sure they're enjoying themselves and refilling coals. Only things I would recommend: 1) bathrooms need a little more love. They're a little messy and I have refilled the toilet paper about three times. 2) this is just a personal preference, but it would be cool to have more pillows on the couch. Smaller throw pillows for comfort, but that's not a deal breaker. Axis is our go to spot in a weekday or weekend. It's cool to see their establishment grow 2x it's size and see updated decor. The ambiance of this lounge is unmatched. The largest space in Arizona, with comfortable seating I must say. The decor is beautiful too. The music they play is a variety and will take requests! Their hookahs are smooth and have a large variety of flavors. I would recommend getting a lotus head to preserve your bowl for longer! Customer service is very strong as well. Always making you feel welcomed. A great place to go during the day to work to hang out, or even bringing a group of friends to enjoy the time too! read more

Cool spot. Music was good and they had games on the TV. Now as someone who smokes hookah probably everyday the hookah experience was mediocre. Hookah was harsh because it didn't have a heat management system and coals kept getting in the sheesh so I'd have to take the bowl off a blow out the coal. Flavors were pretty good though. It seems like a new spot though so there's no doubt in my mind they won't grow. It's decently priced so give it a try just don't expect the best.....for now. read more

This is located in a very shady area but as soon as you enter the place the ambiance shifts. You get a mediteranean feel with big lavish sofas and good music. The hookah was reasonably priced and the service was quick too. Definitely recommend if you're in the vicinity. read more

Axis is a chill lounge to get your hookah fix and catch a game, study or just catch up with with your friends. Hookah is out pretty quick and is decently priced, along with their rewards program. The lounge has been remodeled and is more spacious than before, so that's a plus. I also gotta give props to Jay for his attentiveness and making sure I'm taken care of! I came here for the first time the other night with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have been to a couple other hookah bars and I like that this one has more of a chill/do as you please environment. The lights are dimmed but you can still see, whereas most hookah lounges have strobe lights and play club music. Here, they play good music but not with crazy remixes or anything. They also have TVs on the walls and games you can play. The couches are comfortable and the lounge is spacious! We had strawberry mint and the staff was very friendly and kept checking up on us to refresh our coals. I will be coming back for sure :) read more
