Avoid this company if you don't want to deal with dishonest business and lies about their "one year warranty". We used axium twice for our personal home and our investment property. They were not loyal back to us when their inspector missed a issue on our home and did not honor their one year warranty. They wouldn't send an inspector to look until we contacted them numerous times. Finally they sent an inspector who verbatim asked if we were just looking for a "hand out" and that they only sent someone to avoid a bad review. After they called and denied any compensation even though the item fixed was a reasonable $200. Imagine if you had a bigger number item to fix that they missed? Do not use or trust this service. Luckily legal action will be incited on our behalf. read more

Axium performed a home inspection for me recently and I highly recommend their services. My offer was accepted on a Saturday for a house purchase, so I called on a Sunday to get something lined up. Sure enough, there was a very helpful/thoughtful rep to answer all my questions and get something lined up in the following days. The person who answered wasn't an admin assistant asking for callbacks, etc. but a rep who could legit answer questions about different types of inspections, should I get that Inspection, is that Inspection necessary, etc. The Rep was literally looking up my house to find out the age, etc. to find out what was needed. Given that time is of the essence for taking care of contingency deadlines, this was highly appreciative. And again... this was on a Sunday. Three days later (and apparently the 5th largest snowstorm in Colorado history), Jason showed up. My agent and I asked if we could look over his shoulder from time to time and he had no issues. We asked if he found anything "truly abnormal", to alert us. Throughout the whole inspection, if something caught his eye, he actually educated us on what he was seeing. I paid extra for the thermal scans and well worth the money. The scans were nicely documented in the final report and aligned to the visual inspections. Jason also personally explained and demonstrated the whole thermal process while inspecting. I also ordered the sewer line inspection. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the person who actually did the inspection, (name is not on the report) but the company that worked with Axium was Sewer Optics. Again, me being hands on, the technician was cool with us looking over his shoulder and was essentially giving my agent and I a tour of our sewer line as he was pushing cable throughout the line. BTW, same person did the Radon inspection. Around 4-5 days after the inspection, a call was made to me asking if everything went well. I mentioned that I was very happy, but due to the snowstorm, a lot of items outside could not be inspected. I was informed that my account was noted and that someone will come out after closing and inspect those items that could not be looked at the time. I mentioned that my closing had rent buy back so it would be 45 days or so later and it didn't matter. Amazing! I highly recommend Axium. If you are hands on and want to look over the tech's shoulder during inspection, please show them the respect and mask up and keep enough distance to keep everyone safe and comfortable and I'm positive the inspector will be appreciative and keep the education process flowing. Disclaimer: I use the term "looking over their shoulder" loosely (not literally looking over their shoulder, but just being nosey in general :-D ). read more

I had to get some radon mitigation on a new home I purchased. The HOA records on the rules for external work were hard to get and my HOA wasn't very responsive. Also, while trying to get the work done, I got COVID causing even further delays. Axium was great during this process. They never once complained, their professionals worked with the HOA to get their questions satisfied. One time there was a miscommunication and a repairman came by the house, but they never complained or charged a visit fee for wasting his time. They responded to every phone call or email I had and were open and transparent about the entire installation. Their local partner who they sent was knowledgable, friendly, and got the work done quickly and went over everything with me. As best as my novice eyes can tell, they very good work. I've recently had some bad experiences with repairmen or contractors coming over to my new home. Axium was a great experience. The pricing was very comparable to other radon mitigation installers I spoke with. read more

We've never bought a house before so first inspection. Mike was great. He seemed to do a thorough job, and took a ton of notes/pictures. What I really liked though was that Mike clearly had a broad range of experience, so not only was he giving us info about the house but also just general tips about home maintenance, gotchas about houses in Colorado vs the East coast, etc. He was also really patient with me and entertained a bunch of questions even when I could tell he was pretty tired. Outside of the inspection, the call center team was really helpful too. I spoke to David about three times in one day and again, very patient and helpful. read more

Do yourself a favor and find a different company for your home inspection. These guys don't really care about giving you the info you need when buying home. You pay them for 100 photos of the house you are going to buy...but you get no answers or a better understanding of what they see. So if you want a 50 page report full of photos then hire them. If you want a company that will actually explain what they see and answer questions you might so you can make a more informed purchase...look for a different company. read more

The inspection on my recent home purchase was totally fine and I didn't have an issue, but the buyer of my home used axium as well, and the inspector made a lot of big mistakes that could have been very expensive for me. The inspector said my water heater was old and nearing the end of its life, despite paperwork attached to it stating it was only six years old. The inspector also said my roof needed thousands in repairs and enhancements that were not only completely unnecessary, but weren't even advisable to be done for the roof (i.e. kickout flashing in areas that it is never typically installed). The furnace door was left slightly open in my crawl space, which cost me $130 in HVAC repair services that would have been otherwise unnecessary. The inspection stated the electrical was "maybe" improper, with no explanation as to how, leading the seller to demand I have all of the electrical redone. Fortunately I had city inspection paperwork to counter, showing everything was up to code. In addition, there was a ridiculous amount of dirt tracked into the house when we got home. On top of all of that, ever since my inspection almost two months ago, I've been spammed with calls almost daily from Porch. They call from completely different phone numbers every time so I can't just block them and move on. This is especially annoying during the home buying process when you don't always know if a call is important or not. Overall I am very dissatisfied and would not recommend this company. read more

UPDATE: In terms of the Radon mitigation work, I would give Axium 4 stars. The guy who did the initial work was great, and when the test results came back and they were still high, the second guy they sent out was also great, and he was able to fix the problem. The cost was reasonable, and I think they recovered nicely from the earlier communication issue. That said, I would recommend Axium for radon mitigation, however, I still would not recommend them for an inspection and they would still get 1 star for this service. I thought it was too expensive, several things I thought should have been found were missed, and the communication was poor. read more

Axium has been amazing to deal with. We put in a radon system about a year ago, and it reduced our levels. We contacted them recently to see if levels could be reduced further. An inspector (Ron) came out and did a thorough evaluation of our house and all possible area where radon could be penetrating. Wade, It is a visible and active leak especially when the water is turned on (inspector turned on water during inspection). Are you saying that your inspector saw the leak in crawlspace but did not report because I did not purchase Mold package from your company? I appreciate your willingness to assist but I need the full refund to consider it resolved, and anything you can do to expedite the resolution will be a great help. It is going on since mid April. This all started because your inspector missed an active leak in the crawlspace. What good is your service if your inspector cannot detect an active leak? The point of hiring your company is to detect these issues, I unfortunately trusted your company for this huge purchase and you guys totally failed to deliver the service. Just to be clear, YOUR INSPECTOR MISSED AN ACTIVE LEAK as part of his visual crawlspace inspection AND I'M DEALING WITH THE CASCADING EFFECT. I appreciate the partial refund but I need to recovering the full cost. As emailed, total out of pocket expense to get his all fixed is $3698.95. I got ~$1500.00 paid by the warranty company already. Excellent service! Our home inspector was Bob, he was very professional and very detail oriented. I'm a first time home buyer so he explained a lot things to me very patiently and also gave me good suggestions on what to pay attention to when buy a new house. Bob also arrived extra early. We scheduled for 1pm but he was already there by 12:15. The inspection report came out quickly too. I thought it be out by next day but it was actually completed by the same afternoon. I paid this company $3,320.00 on March 6, 2020 after they installed two radon mitigation systems in my basement. I have two complaints. First, the installer, Fry, did not measure correctly when he cut the hole in the roof of my garage for the pvc pipe. As a result of his miscalculation, the pvc pipe that vents the gas through the roof of the garage is not level, it protrudes through the roof at an angle and it doesn't look great. A couple of days after the install I reported the issue to the company spokesman, Jerry Mitchell, and asked him to notify the job supervisor, Ron. To date I have heard nothing from the company. If this were my business, I would at a minimum call the customer and apologize, or offer to try to fix the problem, or refund some money. Evidently Fry has been installing radon mitigation systems for years, so this should not have happened. I asked him about the pipe at the time of installation and he didn't seem to care. Evidently he is also an interior trim carpenter. I'm sure glad I didn't ask him to do the interior trim in my custom home. Secondly, Fry hooked one of the radon gas fan's electrical to a light fixture in my basement ceiling. When I turned the lights off the fan would turn off. I had to leave the lights on in my basement for five days before the company could find time to send him back out to rewire the fan. Ridiculous! read more
