The inspector was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered insights on what might go wrong in the future and how to prevent / fix it. That was above and beyond since their job is to only observe and report, but I appreciate the advice all the same. It was easy to schedule the inspection, though in my case the online scheduler said there were no slots available, but a phone call got me schedule in a few minutes. The online scheduler issue and having to call to remove the Porch service agreement from my contract were the only negatives. I'm pretty happy with everything Axium has done for us. From inspection to Radon mitigation, everything except one thing went smoothly. Inspectors were polite, personable, and professional. Took time to show me details on their findings, offered suggestions on fixes, and things to keep an eye on. Overall pretty good. Sewer scope was not so great, the gentleman wasn't able to find where to scope so he didn't do it. We hired another person to do the scope and got the results. As an act of good faith, Axium refunded us the entire inspection. Talk about customer service!!! Because we were happy with them we opted to get our Radon mitigation through them and they delivered. The system was installed, the installer was extremely nice, and did a helluva good job. We went from 18-20 down to .1 at times. According to Airthings smart device, we average 1.5 a week. We're waiting on the post install test results from Axium but I imagine it to be just as low if not lower. Definitely a repeat, will use them going forward without hesitation. read more

I contracted with Axium inspections to perform a buyer home inspection on a property I was under contract to buy. The entire experience was good, from scheduling to asking Axium beat the price from a competitor to the inspectors showing up on time. The inspection itself was good and the report arrived quickly. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5 is that Axium's inspection was significantly less thorough compared to another company (I had two inspections performed, with Axium being the second). This is less a criticism of Axium and more that the other company went above and beyond. The home portion of the inspection took a little under two hours (compared to over 3 from the other provider), and Axium's inspector either chose or wasn't allowed to inspect certain items. For example, while Axium inspected the main electrical panel, the inspector did not remove the faceplate to look at the actual wires and circuits underneath. As such, he could not tell me if the home had copper or aluminum wiring. The other company removed the face plate and discovered that there was copper wiring, but also that the individual breakers were mismatched, and that one of the incoming wires showed heat/charring damage. This information was very valuable when it came to making inspection objections. There were three or four other similar examples where Axium's inspection was more surface level compared to the other company. At the end of the inspection, the inspector went through his findings with me and answered all of the questions I had. Generally, both inspections found the same issues, which to me is a good indication that they did a good job. The inspection report produced by Axium was well laid out, with photos of not just the issues that were found, but of many of the other items. I will say that compared to the other inspection report, Axium's report contained more boilerplate descriptions and fewer comments that were written directly by the inspector, but overall the report was well written and easy to understand and reference. In addition to the home inspection, I also had radon testing performed and a sewer scope completed. I believe Axium contracted those out to another company, and the technician arrived about halfway through the home inspection. He did a great job with the sewer scope and the reports used the same format as Axium's. read more

Had a technician call to restart a test (his mistake) and we cancelled the test. I was still billed for the whole amount plus a convenience fee. No test was ever performed and there is no report. When I called to try to work it out I was told that a since it was after 4:00 a representative would call me back tomorrow after they 'looked into it'. No one bothered to call or even send an email. Pick an inspector that would at least return a call. read more

I'm a homeowner in Denver. An inspector from Axium named Bob Merth recently did a home inspection of my property. The property was vacant at the time of the inspection. I went to check on my property about 5 days later. I discovered that Bob had left a screen-less window wide open, exposing my home to dirt, insects, and outdoor elements. He also left several lights on and things generally out of place. It seemed as if he was either in a huge hurry and just left things open-on, or simply has no respect for other's property. I can't speak for the qualify of their inspections. However, in my opinion they are unprofessional. Reply to response: The parties were all asked if they would like to go for the inspection. All declined, leaving only the inspector. It looks like the inspectors take a lot of photos with their hands pointing at items. The report has a clear photo of the inspector's hand pointing at my open window. The window was left open just as in the photo. While I appreciate your attempt to blame it on someone else, it's not necessary. Just do better. read more

I think Axium Inspections runs a very profitable business for themselves but deceiving to the end customer. I paid 495.00 for an "Asbestos Inspection/Testing" and then on top of that, without anyone telling me something, the inspector (not his fault - Ron Long was actually very good,) explained that for each sample they would test I had to pay 15.00 and each area has to be sampled twice. The add on to my bill was 270.00. You tell me how this is a fair business practice? They won't release the report unless this is paid. So I paid 495.00 to have an inspector come out - that's what that covered plus some other online fees they charge. This is not a fair practice and they should be ashamed of themselves. 9/7 - as an update, the owner, Wade, likes to insinuate that it is the customer's fault that there was a misunderstanding instead of taking ownership of the communication issue and improving on it. read more

I just called to schedule a home inspection for my house, only to be told that I shouldn't have to be educated on what kind of inspection I need if I am a real estate agent and have used them for the last 10 years! UNBELIEVABLE. I explained to this arrogant customer service rep that I plan to sell my house in the next year and just wanted a basic home inspection so that I can be ahead of any issues when it goes up for sale in the future. I have lived in my home for 18 years and wish to proactively know what issues there may be when I sell my house in the next year. Simple request, you would think, especially since I've worked with Axium for over 10 years, and this kind of customer service was never present. It's really unfortunate that your company is getting really bad reviews due to people who only job is to answer phones and think they can be terribly rude, beyond disrespectful, before making an effort to set up an appointment much less get pricing for a basic home inspection! Not to mention, I clearly explained no radon, lead or asbestos testing was needed. Do not recommend. For my own inspection, Axium inspection missed that the copper wiring connecting the AC unit had been cut, which is visible had the inspector actually looked at the AC unit. This oversight cost a significant amount to replace the copper wiring. Also, the inspector missed that the heat unit was running on emergency mode. read more

I am a homeowner selling my house and had an inspection done by Axium, who was hired by the buyer. The inspector Brian was the worst and caused the buyer to terminate. He called out cracks that didn't exist-bumps in the drywall, texture marks in a newly finished bathroom and superficial cracks in the foundation of a home built in 1975 that were less than 1/16" wide. Said the garage floor was "heaving" because there was a crack in it. As a "professional" home inspector, he wasn't even able to use a volt-meter correctly and said my 220 dryer outlet was reading half what it was supposed to. It has been professionally checked and is fine (Brian clearly read the hot to neutral reading and didn't bother reading the hot to hot reading, or didn't know how). He left my home in total disarray with all interior and exterior lights left on, insulation tracked all over the home, insulation thrown about in our crawl space, etc. He couldn't figure out how to lock our brand new windows so he listed on the inspection that they weren't able to lock, even though he had to unlock the windows to test if they opened or not. read more

I would give them 0/5 stars if I could. We bought a house and had the inspection done. Less than two months later started demo on the guest bath and found mold.... A LOT OF MOLD! So bad so we had to replace the subfloor and the contractor said he was surprised the tub hadn't fallen through the floor!! Then we had a plumber come in and he said there as so much damage inside the walls because someone had altered the plumbing it all had to be redone because nothing was connected inside the walls!! DO NOT GO WITH AXIUM INSPECTIONS!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE & HORRIBLE PRODUCTS!!!! Purchased a home in 2021 and part of the sales contract was for the seller to have a radon mitigation system installed. The seller went with an Axium radon system. 3 years later the fan has already gone out and anytime it rains, water leaks from the radon pipes into the basement. Had to call Axium at least 4 times before I was able to get someone to come out. Finally they sent a person out who only replaced the fan, which took them literally 5 minutes to replace. THIS SYSTEM IS UNDER A 5 YEAR WARRANTY....YET I GET A $150 BILL!! REALLY? Tried to get anyone at Axium to answer my call just to get a response on why I should have to pay $150 for a part that is under warranty and took 5 minutes to replace, but no luck. I have not received any call backs or response. So I paid the bill and now leaving as many reviews as I can. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ON USING THIS COMPANY!! UPDATE: Wade from Axium responded to my review a month later with a ".". Really Wade? Just more disrespect from your company to a customer. If you've ever bought a used car and know the trepidation that comes with it, take the stress and multiply it by 1,000. You're buying a used house for hundreds of thousands of dollars! You are stuck with this thing for at least 5-10 years, so everything needs to be right. So, first of all, I requested a quote through Yelp and ended up getting a sweet discount that made Axium cheaper or at par with all other companies I called (around 5 or so). When I got a callback, everything went smoothly and there was no upsell. In the confirmation email, it does say that the sewer scoping and radon testing I requested were going to be performed by contractors and potentially not on the same day as the inspection. I panicked a bit since we're on a tight 30-day close, but called both contractors and Axium did in fact get everyone there at the same time. I REALLY wish I was told about the use of contractors when I talked to a rep, could have saved me a lot of stress. It all worked out, I guess. For the actual inspection, I had Jim Hardin come out. He arrived at the property before us and was getting started on the outside. Jim was very friendly and professional, let us follow him around from room to room and answered our billion or so questions. If and when something didn't sit right with him, he made sure we were paying attention and explained the issue in simple, everyday terms so that we could understand exactly what was going on. I appreciated that he was straightforward and honest, but not alarmist. And again, we had five hundred billion questions and he didn't even bat an eye. If you get Jim, you can certainly rest easy that this guy is experienced, by the book and simply great to work with. His detailed report, including photos and all recommendations for fixes, was delivered in just a few hours. Bottom line, Axium is a good value for the money. And if you have Jim Hardin show up, know that you're in great hands. Just be sure to read up on what an inspection covers and doesn't. If you're worried about mold, asbestos or squirrel infestations, you'll need to add on other services (probably more contractors, so be sure to ask). read more

The inspector was really nice but he caused damages to our electrical box (started a fire) and blew the fuse for our smoke alarms. So we had to have an emergency electrician come out ($600) to fix the issue. The company did cover that which was nice. Also- they told us we had too high of water pressure but did NOT tell us we don't have the gauge installed to decrease the pressure. Which we learned afterwards is a $400 job..... they did not cover this cost. I even spoke with the owner about this. I would likely not use them again. read more
