I hate rating restaurants based on nonfood factors, but this place is ridiculous. First off though, the food here is very good. staff is pretty friendly, no issues there. The big issue is ordering. I've tried ordering online here from both DoorDash and Joyous, and my last 3 or 4 orders never went through. It said it was sent to Aybla, but that's it. Nothing. As if the workers are just ignoring the orders or something. I'm glad this place is apparently so popular that they can just refuse customers like this! read more

Oh man, the food here is incredibly delicious. Every bite had flavor. The rice cooked to perfection, chicken was so flavorful and the tzatziki sauce...well I ate that up. The dolmades were amazing too. The lady was sweet and friendly. My food came out in a decent time. 10/10 would recommend. read more

My Son and I decided to have a recent dinner at the Beaverton Food Cart Pod (BG Food Cartel) closest to City Hall. While he ordered Thai, I opted for very good and plentiful Falafel wrap (with Chicken) at the Aybla Grill. Great choice and quick service with a smile. We enjoyed are selections at an adjacent picnic table, fortunate that the dark clouds overhead did not result in rain during our meal. I had been craving a specific sandwich that I used to get at an amazing spot in SE PDX which, sniffle...permanently closed. I want grilled chicken chunks, piles of feta, tomato, onion and tzatziki... thank you Aybla Grill! Their falafel are also wonderful - perfectly made so I forgive them not having hummus I like. Some people really enjoy very liquid hummus...I am not that person. Also. they did not seem to have tabbouleh. Genuinely I have ordered delivery from here since and will probably order regularly now that I know. I would just order this gyro because it was FREAKING AMAZING... The regular size is pretty huge and a few bucks more and it is out of control - be ready as that is a whole lotta sandwich! And I should address the elephant - that MOUND of pita was an ordering error I will not make again. I've ordered from other places a side of hummus and had them bring no pita because they wanted you to order that separately. Their foods and sides were super inexpensive so that's what a $2 side of pita looks like - basically I ordered two $1 sides...because like, oh $1 but it already came with pita....oy... We ordered a super and a regular chicken gyro, a combo with fries on the latter. Plenty of fries for 2 to share...they were definitely appreciated since hand cut vs directly from the bag. The gyros were a good size, with plenty of chicken. My only real complaint was that I had to steal lettuce from my husbands super not realizing my regular didn't come with any. The flavors were good, service friendly. And of course the court is fabulous, with loads of space and tables (for humans and pets), including a heated patio/bar area. read more

I got the fries bowl with chicken (the lamb is not gluten free but the chicken is) and holy moly; the flavor is incredible. The chicken itself was seasoned so well and it wasn't dry. Then there is an orange sauce (maybe the garlic sauce?) and delicious tzatziki (they didn't skimp on the tzatziki ), feta, parmesan, tomato, red onion and herbs on top of fries. It's a hefty serving too. It makes at least two meals for me. This is my new favorite meal at the Beaverton food carts for sure. read more

Never again. I really wanted to try Mediterranean food but this place was just annoying. I wasn't greeted or anything although as I walked up to the food cart I said "Hello" and the guy who is the owner just immediately asked what I wanted in a grouchy way. I brushed it off and ordered a Mediterranean plate with grilled chicken and a side of fries. The plate wasn't warm at all, and the portion to flavor to price was not it. I didn't even get the pita bread that it was supposed to be included in it. The owner wasn't even busy, I was the only one that ordered and no one else was behind or in front of me. He rushed my order just so that he could talk with his friend that visited him. I don't recommend this place. Rude owner, lack of flavor AND food, not worth it. read more

Overall: Average. Food: Tried the Gyro Fries Bowl Combo and it was nothing special. I've had much better versions of this combination. The meat was too chunky and didn't suit they dish as smaller, thinner slices would have worked better with the fries. Love this place! So glad to have found their Beaverton location after enjoying their former Belmont location for years. My go-to order is the veggie mezza plate (I sub their delicious tzatziki for baba ganoush). Falafel: crispy and flavorful. Others are sometimes mushy -- these have a nice balance of crispy outside and soft (but not mushy) inside. Hummus: among the best in PDX. Creamy and flavorful and plentiful. Tzatziki: crazy delicious. Thick but not too thick. Others can be watery -- this is a great consistency. Also a generous portion. Pita: while not fresh from the oven (looking at you, Hoda's), their pita is a nice mix of grilled, a bit chewy (that's a good thing), and flavorful. Cut into wedges that make eating that delicious hummus & tzatziki easy. Dolmas: densely wrapped and flavorful. Yum. Salad: big portion that's a nice compliment to the other items. Meh. I have had FAR better Mediterranean food. The hummus was an odd flavor, which reminded me of lamb, and as a vegan that was WEIRD. The falafel was nice and crisp but didn't have very much flavor. The veggies on the pita weren't the freshest but they were okay. I didn't eat most of them and scraped the hummus and veggies off about 2/3 since one of my falafels fell out. All in all, I would definitely skip it. The service was good but if the food isn't then why bother? ‍ I was disappointed as I was really looking forward to a falafel! read more

Hillsboro, OR The BEST Gyro ever! I lived in Greece for a year and this compares with the best I had there. The meat is perfectly prepared and cooked, the tzatziki accents the onion, tomato and feta cheese and it's all wrapped in a crispy pita cloud. My mouth is watering just writing this. I was at the BJ Round food carts grabbing a burger today and noticed this guy, who was sitting at the next table, talking to himself and was probably homeless. The guy had a full drab colored military bag and other items. I thought about asking him if he wanted me to buy him something when the guy at Aybla cart hollered at him to come up. He handed this fellow a paper bag of food and the guy took it, muttered a thankyou and rolled up the sack tight and went back to sit by his bag. Whether or not he was embarrassed or whatever he was thinking, he didn't open the bag for a minute. Finally, he looked in the bag and pulled out a nice wrap, a salad and even a coke. Immediately he started to cry and put his head down on the table, pulling his hoodie up over his head. He cried silently for like a full minute or so. By this time I had tears streaming down my face and the lady next to us started to tear up. Just then, my order came up and I cried all the way to my car. I think that we need to be better at noticing who is around us and be better at not just looking the other way. Kudos to the awesome guy running the Aybla food cart today, you absolutely rock! read more

Highly recommended! There is a great selection of excellent carts at the pod; this was my first time. I have spent a lot of time in Greece and so went to Aybla. I had the Mediterranean plate (ordered extra pita also) for about $16 and it was easily enough for two hungry adults. Beautifully cooked lamb, served quite hot; juicy and tender; very nice sear on the edges. Rice perfectly done; not gluey or stuck together. Tzatzki delightful, a bit of zing. The owner of the cart was gracious, and I will look forward to talking with him more. You can have a top quality large Mediterranean meal for $20. Go there. They deserve your custom. read more

Had lunch here today and was a little apprehensive as my wife felt like she was shorted on meat in her last gyro-experience at this cart. Not wanting to risk the same fate, I went with the super gyro (with lamb) combo for $2 more. $12 total for a huge sandwich, side of fresh cut fries and a can of soda. Came away extremely satisfied and was arguably one of the best gyros I've had in quite some time. Lots of fresh tender chunks of lamb, crispy yet chewy pita, fresh veggies and wonderful feta cheese and tzaziki. Highly recommend this spot. First time ordering food from this place and it was a very pleasant experience overall. I ordered the chicken gyro which was soft and warm and just the right size; the side Greek salad for $4.00 extra was fresh and lovely; the $2.00 pistachio baklava was rich and not-too-sweet; the $1.00 falafel ball was my favorite. I really enjoyed how they made the falafel and next time I go there, I will try the falafel gyro. It's also really cool that by charging such nominal fees for the falafel ball and the baklava, a customer gets to sample an item, which I can't think of any other place that does that. As much as possible, I don't want to give bad reviews especially we need to lift each other up in this time of pandemic, but it was not fair what they did to their customers last night. I placed my order at 7:15. It was done at 8pm. By then I lost my appetite. This is supposed to be a food cart, meaning service should be fast. There were a lot of us waiting. There was one person taking order, one person making food. The person making food did not wear gloves, and he keeps pulling up his mask. There are a lot of people angrily waiting, but they priotize the Doordash orders. Yes. One person preparing food for us who plans to eat there, and for Doordash orders. And you know what I ordered? A Veggie Mezza Plate! The baba ganouj, hummus, and pita bread are already done, all they need to do is to fry the falafel! And the salad is drenched in the dressing, I can't even eat it, especially thinking about the preparer who keeps pulling up his mask with his bare hands while preparing food with his bare hands. Worst lamb gyro I have ever had and if it weren't for being hungry, I would have thrown out. Admittedly, I was the first there on a Monday, but the large size, super gyro was carved from the burnt exterior of the spit. My first bite was crunchy and I figured the whole thing can't be like this, but it was all burnt and hard. Any reasonable owner/worker would have given the fresh meat and the exterior, assuming they were saving money by not cutting off the blackened meat.
