I have mixed feelings about this place. Right by the ever-popular KPot, AYE is a good place for an after-dinner stop. It's got a good amount of seating, as well as a bunch of games (video, card, and board), so it's great to unwind and hang around for a bit. The service is quick, and the employees were incredibly patient with our large party. The issue I have here is with the drink itself. The size is good for the price you're paying, but it was way too sweet. I ordered a strawberry lychee tea with lychee jelly at "less sweet," but it tasted as if it were at full sweetness. The flavor was fine, and the texture of the jelly was nice, but I can't imagine what this would've tasted like without the adjustment. Stopped by here after dinner at Kpot. The store is very clean and airy. They offer a lot of varieties so that is a plus. I decided to try the Egg Coffee and Lychee Blue Sparkler. The coffee is very strong so be aware of that. The Lychee is nice also. There are a lot of bubble tea places around here in NOVA so when you open a new one, it needs to be different from the others. They do have few drinks that are unique here and their desserts are very good here. I got the Singapore dessert which I never have tried before and it's delicious. Service is fast and the lady who took my order knows the drinks very well. I order buy 4 get 1 free drinks and they missing one drink for half an hour. But it's their first day so it's to be expected. A friend mentioned Aye was good and we happened to pass by after Hpot around 9 Sunday. no line, just two small groups enjoying chatting. My bro's addicted to sugar and didn't request less so he found the Sunset (hibiscus spice,pinapple, kumquat tea) very sweet but otherwise quite flavorful . They have a lot of options, ample seating though ambiance's different from the '25 photos (perhaps they had to sell all the figurines or cater to older customers). My first time there was super welcoming I was craving a late night sweet treat n upon entering they informed me they are offering a "late night deal" on their drinks! So 5$ drinks from 9pm-12am!! And that includes the toppings!! I got the house tea w cheese boba + flan and the black sesame coconut milk tea and enjoyed both. I would like the cheese boba balls to be more ...sturdy...and able to fit through the boba straws...but theyre still delicious. The milk teas themselves also tasted good w a good amount of sweetness. Maybe we went in an off day but the drinks we tried here were average. I asked the cashier if they freshly squeezed the sugar cane juice and she said yes, but the drink itself tasted like it wasn't freshly pressed or something was added to take away the taste of regular fresh squeeze sugar cane juice. The Thai tea was okay but lacked a little flavor. The egg coffee was tasty but very small for the price and mostly just ice. When we left we let the ice melt into the coffee more to have more beverage to consume but even then it was not a lot of liquid for the price. They do have a wide selection of drinks, so maybe we just happened to pick ones that were not so good for me. read more

We usually go to Tea-Do for boba but stopped by Aye Tea to switch it up. Parking is a bit of a hassle but there are some 15 minute parking spots right in front and directly on the side of the store, and when we came by at 7pm on a Saturday there was no line and we were able to get our order within 5 minutes. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk and there's plenty of pictures of each drink on both if you decide visually like me. The inside of the store has a bunch of labubus and other collectibles on one side of the wall. I was a bit off put by the strong smell of cleaning products while entering the store. Aye Tea has a lot of unique flavours on their menu, and most of their drinks are dairy-free and they use powder. They also have some dessert options like flan and labubu shaped cookies. I ordered the green tea rice drink with crystal boba. There were no size options and even though I had asked for the lowest (25%) sugar it was still really sweet. Unfortunately they don't make any of their drinks hot. The crystal boba had more of a jelly texture than boba texture and almost tasted like white grape flavour. There is a good amount of boba to drink ratio so no complaints there, but I was not a fan of the tea itself, which tasted to me like white grape + milk?? Not sure how to describe the flavour but it was not what I expected from the description for green tea and rice, which I expected maybe a light toasted barley flavor, or a stronger tea flavor. I had to knock off a whole star because for this subpar tea to cost $7.58 is daylight robbery. With Tea Do around the corner, it is hard to justify breaking our routine to risk $8 to try a unique flavour at Aye Tea that would be a toss up and predictably way too sweet. read more

What a great way to start Spring Break and find this new boba spot on Gateway Dr near KPot Fairfax! The store is bright and nicely decorated with fresh flowers and balloons, and I appreciated the QR code being passed down the line as we waited outside. There's a cute tree with lanterns at the front of the store and a lot of seating. Today and tomorrow, there's a BOGO for their grand opening. I got the Jasmine green milk tea that was light, and floral. The boba added the sweetness, which was perfect for me since I asked for less sweet and less ice. There's two variations of their Thai tea, red and green. I'm unsure of the difference but we also go their red Thai tea which was a pretty ombré color before our mix. It was pretty sweet even with less sweetness. It tasted like the powder to me. Overall, the owner brought the hype and he was so friendly and welcoming. The spinner wheel was so fun! We won a coffee machine, and so did 3 other customers while we were there! A great atmosphere with so many options, everything looks good! Plentiful seating, and welcoming ambience! Congrats on the grand opening! There's a good amount if seating right now, but Aye Tea is open for business right in the same area as KPot Hot Pot Fairfax, which is a great transition from a meal to some yummy bubble tea. I ordered the strawberry sugar cane + the avocado smoothie and both were pretty tasty, I did prefer the strawberry sugar cane a little bit more. My dad ordered a taro coconut coffee and a sea salt coffee and told me he liked the taro coconut coffee, but did not like the sea salt coffee. Inside the vibes are nice, there's currently giveaways for the first two days along with modest parking in the garage. The staff are nice too, but since they are in their grand opening phase with no soft opening, I believe the service is a bit slower than expected. I'd recommend going on slower days for now while theyre still training/ learning the ropes. read more

I got the egg coffee, super excited to have tried a new bubble tea spot and I was looking forward to this. The spot is very cute, however parking is a not very great either. Anywho i came in around 8 and there was more people working versus people in the store... they were ready to take my order, but the ACTUAL SERVICE WAS SOOOOOO SLOW. It took a total of 14 minutes from the actual order to get my drink... and they all just kept looking at me... no apologies until the very end when I actually recieved the drink. Taste? It was just ok, they were out of a lot of the things I wanted to try. Coconut matcha was not bad. Sugarcane juice is a huge disappointment. It was not freshly squeezed and tasted nothing like sugarcane juice.

I've saw an ad showing they had boba in a cooler filled with toppings and wanted to try it out. Turns out that drink cost almost $16 dollars because you're paying for the drink, plus the cooler, and additional toppings. For that price I was expecting to have a lot, however there was only a couple of pieces of toppings here and there, and the tea barely filled the cooler. It was mostly ice inside. I would comeback and try a different drink since the cooler is definitely not worth it. On the plus side, I now have a cooler to pack lunch in. read more
