Nice stopping by here, order came out at a moderate pace, shop was not busy at all. They had a buy 3 get 1 free promo, so we both got 2 drinks each! Mango pomelo sago is always my go to! The black seseme cheese smoothie was really good with mochi! The mochi isn't in balls but like mass at the bottom of the drink! They have good recommendations on ice and sugar level for each item! Just a heads up that they may seem like they're not busy because they're empty inside, but mobile/online orders may just be the majority of their orders. The decor is simple but tasteful. We used to come here religiously, every week, 1-3 times a week for 2 years. We loved their tea and the consistency in the drinks. They were always good, we got exactly what we expected. For us, it was the best place in the NoVa area. However, the past 6 months, something changed. Our tea tasted kind of watered down. We figured it must have been the new crew and they were just new and learning. We just came back again last week, and oh gosh!! We had the worst milk tea of our life!! I literally come here every weekend. Honestly, a bit more pricey than other chains, but they are just too delicious. I mean you really don't have to be that good, but I really just cannot deny the qualiTEA of Ben Gong. Growing up in Asia, I am very particular about milk tea, especially black milk tea. You have to be able to taste the tea, and for some reasons many chains here fail to do so. Their tea is super fragrant, milk tea is SO creamy, their milk cap (cheese) is so so delicious, their cheese smoothie doesn't taste superficial and super refreshing. And by the way, the tea cube is yummy and a fun variety of topping different from other chains - basically a jelly that tastes a bit caramelly like brown sugar. Not much needed to say about Ben Gong - this is what I would call real bubble milk tea tastes like. It is so good I bought the tea leaves to drink at home lol. This place has me in a chokehold I come here about 5 times a week and I usually get the dahongpao milk tea and sometimes when i feel like changing it up I get the jasmine milk tea with boba. The brown sugar boba is perf chewy and sweet which goes well with the nutty less sweet (i get 0% sweet bc the boba is sweet) milk tea. I also get tea cube jelly as a topping bc they make it in house and its sweet and tea flavored and adds a nice texture. The owners are constantly experimenting and adding new flavors to the menu so I love tasting the diff options. Grabbed some bubble tea here the other day after the spa and it was really good. They have a pretty large selection to choose from. My husband got a matcha brown sugar bubble tea and he said it was so good. I ordered a black tea cube milk tea and quite honestly it was freaking incredible. One of my best friends lives in Dumfries (45-50 mins away) and makes her way to Ben Gong's to get boba often. I live like 5-10 mins away so of course I had to finally make a visit! Their menu is a bit smaller compared to other boba spots but if you have a good product, smaller usually means higher quality! My fiancé and I ordered ahead online for their social distancing pickup.
