I've been to this gong cha several times and most times, there wasn't anything that stood out to me in particular. This last time I was a bit disappointed. It was pretty packed when I arrived so I just placed an online order, sat down and waited. I didn't realize how much time went by but people were getting their drinks and it got less busy. I was still waiting on my drink but I was just assuming they were working on catching up after the big rush. It was maybe 30 minutes that I waited until I asked them and it seemed like they didn't even check the tablet that they received online orders from. So glad Gong Cha is here! We usually drive to Fairfax to our favorite bubble tea shop, and was so glad to hear a much closer tea shop was opening. Plenty of parking is available. It's neat and clean inside. Everyone was wearing masks (COVID-19 time) and there are markers on the floor so you know to stand 6 ft apart, which is greatly appreciated. Indoor seating is available. Employees were quick and friendly. Our order was ready in no time and neatly wrapped. Their menu has a nice variety of drinks, toppings, and egg waffles with ice cream. I got their Dirty Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with Brown Sugar Pearl drink. It was very sweet but super tasty! I think if you're well experienced with brown sugar drinks, then you'll definitely like this because you'll be expecting that kick of sweetness. The brown sugar boba was absolutely delicious! The chewiness was perfect! All the drinks I've tried from Gong Cha have never disappointed me! They're all pretty good, and the boba is always good too! I think the only downside is the cost for the size of drink. It costs over $7 for what I would call a medium size drink. This is my second time coming to Gong Cha. It caught my eye over some other bubble tea places because it's very pretty inside. There's a huge wall of flowers and it's overall very aesthetically pleasing. There's a good amount of seating and it's pretty calm inside, so it would be a nice place for working. The menu has a very large assortment of drinks and even ice creams. Last time I ordered the Oreo black tea latte, which I ended up loving. It tasted very similar to a Oreo milkshake but lighter in consistency which I prefer. This time I decided to order the strawberry creme brûlée latte and my friend ordered the taro purée latte. I wasn't sure what to expect if a crème brûlée flavor mixed in with strawberry milk tea latte but I've never seen this mix at another place so I decided I had to try it out. I did not regret it, this drink was super good!! At first I thought it was too sweet, but once the crème brûlée flavor mixed in with the strawberry, it was a big hit for mr. It was also so foamy and there were pieces of strawberry mixed in that made this drink even better. I'll definitely be ordering this drink again. For the taro drink, the taro flavor itself was great but the purée had a weird texture and aftertaste to it that made the drink less enjoyable. I would've opted for a normal taro latte instead.
