Yaaaas Ayeesha! I'm a huge fan of Bombay Darbar, but don't always want to go to the grove for good Indian. I went with my man and was super hungry! We got some lettuce wraps for an appetizer. I wanted them spicy, but was talked out of it. Glad for that because it was already spicy enough. Super good. Then we ordered some chicken korma and many different types of naan. The cheese naan was unbelievable! The korma was so good as well. Really spicy, but I was ok with that. The rice was perfectly cooked also! We got a vegetable dish (forgot the name), which was very good. Service was quick, attentive, and they gave us some really good suggestions. I made the journey over the Rickenbacker causeway continuing my never-ending quest for flavor driven food. Having read what some of my fellow Yelpers had to say about Ayesha, I was curious to see if it lived up to all the chatter. We started off with some butter and garlic naan. Both were very, very good. The naan was light and airy on the inside, while picking up a nice crusty outer layer from the tandoori oven. The naan here is a great way to kick things off. They also started us off with some sort of baked, buttery, crispy chip thing with a spicy onion dip. I'm not sure what it was, but we cleared three rounds of it, so I can say with great confidence that we enjoyed whatever it was. As my main I ordered the chicken tikka masala (spicy). I thought the chicken was cooked perfectly and overall the flavor was excellent. There may or may not have been a bit too much curry in mine, but I suppose that ends up being a personal opinion depending on ones relationship with curry. Also on the table was the chicken tandoori, which was awesome in taste and aroma. I will probably order a tandoori dish on my next visit. The main courses are served with rice, and I think the average price for an entree was about 15$. The service was slow, mainly because the owner is also the waiter and the host and the chef and the engineer and the lighting and sound guy. All in all, Ayesha offers up some very good Indian food. The Yelpers are on point for the most part. Not sure it's a 5 star place, I would say more of a 3.5 or 4, but definitely worth the trip out to the Key of Biscayne. PS. One of the better Indian restaurants in Miami, but it might be a little hard to find considering the sign is blocked by a tree. It's in a shopping center incase anyone goes on a hunt for this place. Saffron lettuce wrap? A lettuce wrap at an Indian restaurant? I was puzzled but absolutely enjoyed this appetizer. It had great flavors with a modern twist. I think someone that isn't accustomed to this type of food would even enjoy it. For my entree I had the Navrattan Sahi Korma which is a vegetable korma. It was on the sweeter side, which I liked. I would recommend this dish since this is one of the few places that makes it well. And if you like Rasmalai, this is the go to place for it. The cheese portion is the perfect texture. read more

Great food, warm service, cozy and elegant decor. It's a great feeling to dine in a restaurant where the staff and proprietor enjoy serving you. Papadums with pickled onions whet your appetite as you look through the menu. We knew we were in for a treat when we tasted the full-throttle onions. The menu, while focused, still provided a nice range of options. Favorites like Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, rogan josh and korma all appear on the menu as well as some I have not seen such as Apna Curry and lettuce wraps (?!). We started with lettuce wraps which were surprisingly good. The bright red chicken delivered that great pop you expect from good Indian food. We followed with tandoori lamb, chicken tikka and the okra. All were great, different and used great ingredients. No weird cuts of meat, no heavy or stale flavors. A delicious white rice with saffron and cardamon is included with each dish. The host was ever present and talked us through any questions we had. Overall, it has been the Indian meal I have enjoyed most in Miami, and is especially the best Indian meal I have been served without Indians in my party. The menu states that they are part of the Saffron Group, which includes two restaurants north of Miami-Dade and the former Taste of Bombay. In my experience, this is the best Indian restaurant in/around Miami (with Bombay Darbar in the Grove as a close second). The food and drink here is consistently excellent and the service is friendly although a little sluggish at times. My default entree is the lamb korma, but I have enjoyed the chicken tikka as well, which was also good. The eggplant is nice for vegetarians and the naan is perfect every time (try the garlic naan or aloo naan). For dessert, I highly recommend the mango mousse, which is more of a thick consistency than what you would ordinarily imagine for a mousse but filled with delicious concentrated mango flavor. Their lunch specials are an excellent way to try out sn entree item, vegetable item, and dessert all for one reasonable price. read more

I eat here about once a week. Their aloo nan is my favorite and their basmati rice is delicious. Lamb korma curry is my favorite dish. The mango lassi is a great drink/desert. They have good lunch specials, but I haven't had a chance to make it to the key during the week for quite some time. read more

You can go to Ayesha to hear about the owners humble beginning as a peanut seller in India or to absorb the beauty of Key Biscayne. But the real reason to go there is the amazing, mouth watering, finger licking good, Indian food! To summarize what I thought of the food: it was PERFECT! can't think of a single thing that I would change about the taste of the chicken tikka masala and the palak paneer I tasted. We decided to try several appetizers and enjoy a few Indian lagers (Taj Majal) as we dined outside and enjoyed the perfect Florida winter weather (75°). Our server Ricky was very helpful and recommended the lamb chops which were amazing! We also ordered the Chicken Tika Masala and lentil soup. Everything was delicious and the portions were plentiful for appetizers. Of course we saved space for dessert which I can't remember the name of it but it was also very tasty!! We have eaten here three times so far and will be making it there a lot more. Everything we have had is great, even the Indian wine. You just need to be careful with the heat issue. I have asked for mild a couple of times and if what I got was mild, I don't want to experience hot. The unfortunate situation with this restaurant is its location on the Key Biscayne restaurant desert. Good restaurants just do not last here. The majority of the island population is looking for either pizza, mediocre Italian food, mediocre Cuban food or pizza. Two of the times we were in the restaurant we were one of the few if only people there. I hope they make it. read more

I agree with another reviewer that they have gone way downhill in the last year. The first time we had a bad meal I chalked it off to maybe just a bad night, or different chef. 3 times this year we have had bad meals, the flavors are not as good, the quality has gone way down hill, and the quantities are smaller. We ordered shrimp madras, an entree, only had 4 pieces of medium shrimp in a sauce. Was supposed to be medium spicy, was mild. My husband ordered chicken tikka masala and it was greasier, and he ordered it Indian Spicy, which is super spicy, and again it was mild to zero spice. The food is greasier than before, not as fresh, I think they are cutting quality and portion sizes to save money. We used to love the place, we will never go back. read more

This is a great Indian restaurant recommended by my bf. We came here for dinner, ordered the lettuce wrap, chicken tikka and Hariyani. They're all very delicious. I honestly like the chicken tikka better than Hariyani probably bc of the abundance of sauce it comes with. Garlic naan is also fresh out of the oven still crispy when you first bite it. Visited Ayesha Indian Restaurant for dinner on a Tuesday night. Ordered the Lamb Samosas and Spinach And Paneer Samosas as appetizers, the Chicken Tikka Masala as my meal with an order of Garlic Naan. Quality I was very unimpressed with what Ayesha's had to offer. The two sets of samosas were definitely the highlights of the meal and that is not saying much. The Lamb Samosas were stuffed with meat and with just enough spice to add a unique zing. The Spinach And Paneer Samosas were also good, a bit smaller but packed with flavor. Then came the Chicken Tikka Masala and a serving of Basmati Rice. What I can say is that they definitely used higher quality chicken then I would have expected. However, I was completely disappointed in the tikka masala sauce. It was ordered at medium heat, but it came without any heat at all. It lacked the normal creamy deliciousness that comes from the yogurt base. Typically I am trying to lick the bowl for every last drip of the sauce, but hungry as I was I was not even tempted to do so. Then there was the Garlic Naan, which I feel like could hardly be called naan. It was extremely crispy without any of its usual soft and doughy goodness and it was just absolutely doused with garlic. Quantity The two different samosas came in small quantities, but they were meant to be appetizers so I felt it was fine. The Chicken Tikka Masala felt like it came with a good amount, on this occasion I shared it, but it was more than enough for a large plate. The Garlic Naan was a typical portion, but because of how crispy it was it felt like much less than usual. Value As is usually the case the food at Indian places tends to be on the pricey end, and it was no different here. Felt like even though we did not order a ton of food, just one actual entree and no drinks, the bill still showed that we did. Ambiance It was a gorgeous evening so we decided to sit outside. Ayesha's is located in the bottom floor of a strip mall on Key Biscayne, in the village itself. The inside seemed fine with a good deal of tables and a style that captures a lot of Indian culture. Paintings, warm colors, and unique ceramics. Outside they have a few tables and we sat at a hightop. It is on the sidewalk in front of a strip mall, so obviously expectations are a bit low, but the weather seemed to nice to be stuck inside. The real problem though was that there are several other restaurants in the mall, each playing music outside so you have this mesh of sound that is both loud and terrible. I believe Indian folk music was playing from the restaurant, but it was overpowered by two radio stations on at the other places. Crowd Two big groups were the only other folks at the restaurant. Both seemed to be visitors who were likely tired of the food offerings of their nearby hotels. However, I felt it may have been a warning sign that it was not a place really attracting locals, few as there may be in the area. Service No problems with the service. Even though for most of the meal we were the only ones outside, they still managed to make the rounds to fill up our drinks and check in on us. Parking They have a large parking lot for all the stores in the strip mall right in front, which is nice because it means free parking. However, you do have to go across a toll that basically negates this benefit. Extra As a general rule I use Chicken Tikka Masala as my measuring stick before diving deeper into an Indian food restaurant's menu. It is a staple and typically the most ordered dish, so if it is done right I become a believer. In this dish I felt Ayesha's failed and with other options now available in South Florida, I don't see myself returning. read more

Great Indian food in the American style. Service was well paced and friendly. The owner was there and made a few suggestions which were all very good. We started with samosas and garlic naan. We tried lamb, chicken and veggie samosas. My favorite were the vegetable ones, but they were all very good. While we were waiting for our fifth guest we tried the cheese naan, also very good although I preferred the garlic. For dinner we shared chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, begun bharta, saag paneer, chana masala, and another veggie dish. The standouts were the begun bharta and the chicken vindaloo. Dessert was a mango ice cream, gulab jamun, and rasmalai. All were very good. Prices were moderate to high moderate. This place is definitely worth the trip and they are supposedly opening a location down south in the pinecrest area. We know a bit about Indian cuisine, having lived in Middle East and been many times to India , and we can comfortable conclude this restaurant is indeed very impressive. Easy parking , moderate in seize, white table cloths, and great service. Our waiter from Bombay knew as much about the dishes as the owner who watched over all details. As appetizer we took vegetable semosas and stir fried greens ( superb!!). Eggplant barta and channa masala veggies as main dish were also fantastic. You can order spicy as you like. Wow, was I impressed! I have never been to an Indian Restaurant and I'm so happy Ayesha opened the gateway for me. Everything was perfectly delicious. Me and my boyfriend started out with the vegetable samosa. So crispy and good mmm. For the main course I had the Fish madras. I got it medium spicy and the plate was the perfect amount of spice. The Fish madras was full of flavor. Absolutely loved it. My boyfriend was very content with his dish as well. He is vegan and always finds it difficult to go to a good restaurant where and can eat happily but Ayesha did the trick. He got the Eggplant Barta with no cream. They accommodated his order quite nicely. Oh, and dont forget to order the garlic naan! To top off our great experience, the service was expectacular. Had the shrimp curry lunch special.. came with salad (refreshing), rice, daal (or some kind of dish with garbanzo beans in it- delicious)..the curry shrimp (really spicy and phenomenal flavor), and some potato dish (also extremely flavorful). The naan was the bomb. I found this place thanks to the Miami New Times Best of Miami 2013 (Best Indian Restaurant).. They were spot on. Located in the heart of KB in a strip mall this small joint is responsible for providing a delicious Indian Cuisine experience accompany by impeccable customer service delivery. I write this review while on the toilet miserable after eating here. Food was awful - stale and dry! My punjabi food had curry leaves and when asked for South Indian food they were out. Presentation was crappy and we were seated by a kid taking a leak in the bushes. Waste of money - should have canceled or returned but we just wanted to get out of there ASAP. read more

This was simply one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. It's a small, cute, colorful place with very nice staff. Our group ordered chicken korma, eggplant bharta, and lamb vindaloo, plus raita, tamarind chutney, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. While it was a little bit of a wait for our food, what eventually came out was fresh, hot, and simply wonderful! I have been to almost every Indian restaurant in Miami and one that was said to be the best in Broward and Ayesha is leagues above. I visited for the first time on my birthday on a Tuesday night. My husband I began dinner with an appetizer of Chicken Samosas and they were delicious! Samosas at most restaurants are usually these big balls of breading with lots of grease, but Ayesha's were small triangles that were so good and just enough for two. Before that, the standard tomato and onion chutney was served with Papadum. It was the best chutney of its kind that I've had, a little bit spicier than usual, but I love spice. For main dishes, my husband ordered the Saag Paneer (spinach with cheese), which was flavorful, and I ordered the Chicken Korma (chunks of chicken in a tomato/yogurt sauce infused with spices, cashews and raisins). The Korma was fantastic. I ordered it spicy, not Indian spicy, but had to send it back because it wasn't spicy enough for me (my fault, not theirs). We also ordered the Eggplant Bharta, a dish that I have not been able to find in Miami. The dish was exceptional, a savory combination of grilled eggplant, and spices that make a thick stew-like offering. It was perfect for dipping our Garlic Naan -- also delightful. My only nit pick about Ayesha was their selection of wine by the glass. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc that tasted stale. I wish they had a better selection. Another nice plus, when we asked to pack up our leftovers, the server added a portion of rice since we'd eaten all of ours. A pleasant and unexpected surprise! Overall the service was great, the food SUPERB, and the bill very reasonable. We are definitely going back. Our go-to place before had been Imlee in Pinecrest, but the food quality has gone down some recently and the service has always been lackluster. We also really liked Darbar Bombay in Coconut Grove, but I have to say Ayesha is now the winner. I highly recommend! read more

Wonderful food and service! The location is in a glamorized strip mall, and was initially hard to find (probably my problem because I am from CA and was just visiting). Once there though, the place is very classy with a tasteful and warm ambience (minus the bar-like flat panel tv blaring indian music videos). The food was phenomenal! Big fans of Indian food here and this place did not disappoint. Our one complaint is that the portions are not that big for the price of each dish, and we're talking $19-20. We got a lot of sauce with small pieces of chicken/ lamb. We placed our order through uber eats and everything was delivered promptly and fresh. The butter chicken was spectacular, the lamb dish was creamy and delicious and can't say enough about the tandoori chicken! The perfect amount of spice! And we love spicyness. Hopefully we'll stop by one day and order in the restaurant and see if the amount changes but definitely overpriced for the amount given. read more
