Dr. Neoman saved my life. I had a bleeding Hemmerhoid for two years. Bled every single Day. he helped perform the surgery to remove it. He's a busy doctor but very efficient in what he does. The staff were fine. The building is in disrepair. There's a boarded window, the inside has large cracks in the wall and the furniture is worn and tearing. I was there with my special needs adult daughter as a new patient. The doctor did not come in to talk with us prior to being "ready to do an exam". My daughter was unable to comply with his "way I do my exam" and was unwilling to even TRY to take into account her limitations, put her at ease, or even speak to her. After about two minutes, he threw up his hands, said "I can't do this" and walked out the door. Absolutely the WORST doctor I have EVER had the misfortune to have to bring my daughter to. When I arrived and checked in for my appointment it was about 45 min afterward I was seen by the doctor. I had the same appointment with a colorectal surgeon in CO but had to reschedule to get an appointment here in CA... When I went to Dr Neoman he failed to ask me what I think are necessary questions that my previous colorectal surgeon asked me (this is the same appointment for the same thing). Dr Neoman, I felt wasn't set up correctly to view the issue I was having and made it very uncomfortable (when I thought I was prepared for the exam since I've done it before). Dr. Ayman Neoman saved my life! From the first day we met his staff (AnnMarie), she went above and beyond patient customer care. She moved with a sense of urgency and was always empathetic to our medical situation and feelings. When we met with Dr. Neoman, he was very thorough in explaining the surgical procedures. When I left his office, I felt that I made the right decision in selecting him. Without going into too many details, the operation was a success! However, during the surgery (routine camera surveillance before operating), he noticed an issue with my liver that wasn't detected with my CT scans. He was able to correct it! This was in addition to the Cancer Correctol Colon surgery. In addition, he went above and beyond the testing expectations provided by the Oncologist. He is that thorough! Honestly, the compassion with which Dr. Neoman showed me and how he treats his patients is more effective than any medicine! He and his staff provide a perfect combination of responsibility and care. I had a worst experience with this doctor. I went to get treatment for my Anal Fistula, without diagnosing anything he advised to get ready for surgery. I highly don't recommend this doctor because he hardly talks and understands the patient problem. Terrible from the start. Called and spoke with a Hispanic lady who demanded I give her my insurance card (verifying it was PPO or HMO) before she would even schedule me? Talk about customer service. Sat in a waiting room for over an hour to be called. Once I saw the doctor, he looked at the notes the nurse wrote down, and looked at me for a diagnosis and said I need surgery, he'll have his people call me, not explaining the procedure or risk. And felt annoyed that I was wasting his time. Did not once ask if I had any questions or concerns, did not talk about the surgery, but simply stated, it's a 30 min process, well give you pain meds, and a 2 week recovery, then left the room. I would rather pay a premium to a specialist who is legitimately concerned about my health then someone who doesn't even give me the chance to ask a question. Will not come back! Dr. Neoman is the absolute BEST colorectal surgeon! He is extremely knowledgeable and a highly skilled surgeon. I'm very grateful for the care and concern Dr. Neoman gave me during and after my two surgeries. I had a very extensive colon surgery which involved complications which weren't shown on the two CT scans and ultrasound which were done prior to surgery. Dr. Neoman handled the unexpected findings with expertise and knew just what to do to correct the problems. My quality of life is better now than it has been for many years! Dr Neoman is the only gastro surgeon avail on plan, not acceptable at all. Hubby was hospitalized 10 times in 16 mos for diverticulitus. During one of his many stays, several nurses realized he was getting sub par care from Neoman and told him point blank-GET ANOTHER SURGEON. We found out from 3 different sources that MOST of his diverticultis patients that he operates on COME BACK to ER for leaking, not healing etc. This then requires a 2nd surgery and a bag. Again, not acceptable. I jumped thru the hoops to get an out of network surgeon and thank God I did. His case was very complicated and was in the hospital 16 days, having had the surgery with the very best of drs. The last time hubby was admitted, prior to surgery, Dr Neoman popped in and said something rude & sarcastic @ good luck in getting the surgery. By this time he knew we had refused care from him and had gone out of network. He acted like a spoiled little child. Perhaps if you don't have a complicated medical problem, he would be ok. I am so grateful we found another surgeon who was wonderful and 5 weeks post op, hubby is healing. I cannot recommend Dr. Neoman and his team more. AnnaMaria goes above and beyond when it comes to working with patients to make appointments, follow ups, meds needed, and treats you like a person rather than just another case. Dr. Neoman is no different. His expertise, bedside manner and calm demeanor are what make him exactly what you want in a surgeon. I never felt rushed during my appointments - he answered all of questions patiently - and never made me feel like I was dumb for asking them. Nurses I spoke with before my surgery gave him glowing reviews. And I'd agree - I had a very involved surgery and he performed it beautifully. I was having very painful fistula for many years and happend to meet Dr. Ayman through my family doctor. The first day I visited his office I received five stars treatment from the front desk until walk out of the clinic. The front desk Nurse by the name of Ana Maria was very friendly and polite and made me so comfortable until I saw the doctor. Doctor is very serious but friendly. He did my colonoscopy and the surgery. The day I was taken to the ward the male nurse make me very comfortable by keeping me cool and fear free inside the hospital. The entire staff ware very friendly polite and extremely professional. Even after the procedure the staff specially the Nurse Ana Maria has taken an extra step and gone out of the way to help me with my EDD claim while advising me how to take care of myself with my wound. I am totally happy with the treatments I got from the Doctor and the entire staff in his office and the hospital. Thank you very much and I highly recommend the Doctor and this amazing and friendly staff for anyone who plan to have their procedures done in a very cool atmosphere. read more

I was referred to Dr. Neoman for an opinion about whether to start chemotherapy or have surgery after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer. After careful consideration of my situation Dr. Newman recommended surgery due to the severity of the problem. After the initial consultation I was scheduled for surgery within days. Having an HMO is frustrating to say the least due to the time it takes to be approved for anything but Dr. Neoman got the approval knowing time was of the essence and performed surgery. I am now recuperating and free of colon cancer with no side effects (that says a lot for his skills, assessment of the problem and immediate action). Please read before you proceed with this Dr. This review should have been written a few years ago but better late then never because my brother's medical condition continues to deteriorate and I don't think it will stop till he passes! This Dr did his colon cancer removal in 2018 and since then a reaction of medical problems started and never stopped. The first surgery this Dr conducted was ok but within 5 days my brother had a 2nd emergency surgery from this Dr due to an infection. We don't know what happened during these surgeries but my brother never walked and became bed ridden. I called this Dr's office to tell them my brother was at a hospital dying due to complications from ongoing infections just to find out this Dr was out of state on vacation. His attending Dr whom he left his duties to told me after several calls made to his office that the scope of surgery my brother needed was out of job scope. This attending Dr connected me to the UCI head of staff Colorectal Surgeon Dr who took on my brother's case, this is now 2019. This UCI Dr took on my brothers 3 1/2 hour surgery to remove infection from his abdomen area. Once this UCI Dr was done, he told us that the Dr (Newman) who performed his original colon cancer removal left gauze in my brothers abdomen which is a foreign body that caused all of his medical problems and continue to cause many more. He's been in and out of nursing homes and hospitals since. I don't wish this pain and suffering he has been through and that it has put our family through on anyone! Please use caution and do your research on a better Dr then this one if you can. Our lives have been through hell and back and this hell continues... Really a sad story of pain which I don't think will stop for him unfortunately until he passes! Please keep us in your prayers! This Dr truly deserves a Zero rating! My wife had to have major colon surgery (the removal of 12 inches of her colon), and the HMO told us that Dr. Neoman was the one who would do the surgery. I went onto Yelp and read the May 6, 2010 review by Michael P., and I was a little concerned. With respect, I must disagree with Michael. We had a terrific experience with Dr. Neoman. First, the bad news: his waiting room is really cramped, and the furniture is out of date. That's it. But now the good news -- his office staff, particularly his office manager, were competent, considerate, and businesslike. The doctor himself is a delight -- he has a wonderful sense of humor (which isn't exactly what you would expect in a colo-rectal surgeon). He is warm and caring. Our initial interview was very encouraging. The surgery itself went wonderfully -- he was able to do it laparoscopically. (There was a chance that laparoscopic surgery wouldn't be available, depending on the location of the polyp.) My wife's recovery was rapid. He visited her every day in the hospital. He came in late on a Saturday afternoon to tell her that he had just received the biopsy reports (which, thank goodness, were benign). Our follow-up visits with him were equally excellent -- he patiently answered all of our questions. I strongly recommend this doctor. read more

I too have a hard time with Michael P.'s review.... I had never seen Dr. Neoman before last Wednesday. I was in a world of hurt, and this very professional Dr. took one look at my problem, and lo and behold, I am in surgery the next morning. He was very professional, kind, and addressed my Husband with all of my post operative needs while I was quite incapacitated (in a very good way). Back in late 2009, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer (many many polyps the entire length of the colon). After the customary colonoscopy, Dr. Neoman told me that most if not all of the colon would have to go. It may even come down to a colostomy bag depending on what he found once he got a first hand look. As many people can imagine a colostomy bag can put a real dent in what you can/can't do. I asked him if there was any way to avoid the bag that was the way I wanted to go. He braced me for the worst with a heads up that I might be needing to use the WC 3-5 times a day, but would do what he could to leave me enough bowel to maintain somewhat normal function. Here it is four years later, with 90%+ of the large intestine gone and I could not ask for better results under the circumstances. With a moderate diet I may have to visit the WC once a day on average. I was happy with his staff and he sat down and explained to me in layman's terms what was going to happen and why, and what to expect after the surgery. Thank you very much Dr. Neoman for enabling me to maintain as much of a normal life as I could expect given the severity of the surgery. Bleh. Referred for fissure. After 8wks of 'try this first' had surgery.. Somehow got E. Coli and Sepsis as a side effect. 16 days in hospital. Discharged and was given 3wks of pain meds for something i was quoted 8wks recovery.. So now im left to suffer for 5 more weeks with no pain meds and an open wound in my @ss. I had surgery by Dr Neoman in 2007 and can not believe Michael P.'s review. I do believe Dr Neoman is one of the kindest and most considerate Dr.'s around. I was pleased to learn after surgery he was able to remove 1/2 of my bowel laparoscopically. I have had very little changes in my lifestyle and I know it is because of Dr. Neoman's expertise with my surgery. He also came in after hours to announce my mass was benign. He wanted me to have a restful night with the good news. He is a dedicated fine surgeon. I will be following his orders and scheduling another colonoscopy this year. read more

I was suffering from Anal Fissure and visited Neoman. Neoman advised me to do a sits bath for few months, however that didnt work quite well for me. After a couple of months of fissure I had a little bulging on the outer side of the anus. I again visited Neoman and without proper diagnosis and tests, Neoman told me that its a absess. Neoman told me that after removing the absess by a small operation the fissure and itching and any other infection will vanish. I asked him will it cost me a lot, all he told me was that my insurance will cover and I just have to pay the COPAY. He performed the operation and guess what, there was no absess at all. I landed paying 1800 $ towards my part of the operation which was a complete suprise for me. Later another check of 500 $ came from Neoman's clinic. Not sure why he kept all this hidden. And guess what, the fissure was never cured thoroughly. Thats not it, a friend of mine also went to Neoman as he had some boil around his anus and Neoman suggested for an operation again :-(. My friend waited for few weeks and the boil disappeared without doing any operation. I would take a 2nd advise always going forward before going for any operation. read more
