Enter: Minerva! She addressed all the potential employers requirements better than I could have hoped!! I just received a decision letter from the employer regarding the role I was interested in fulfilling. I WAS OFFERED THE JOB!!!!! Dr. Omidvar is phenomenal and he is not only brilliant but he is incredibly kind. Being under his care is a blessing. However, when a Nurse Practitioner is who you see between visits I believe it is their job to provide care as he would. Today for an urgent matter I saw one of his nurse practitioner, MD, and that was not at all my experience. This provider could not be more opposite to the way Dr. Omidvar practices. What is even more difficult is the fact that what I was presenting is frightening and it was as if they had one foot out the door before ever walking into the room. They never asked my name. There was no care here but just letters on a page. Never asking for my opinion or offering kindness but rather a list of things at a non stop and rapid pace. No exam until they were walking out the door, stopped and said "Oh, I should probably" at which time did a 90 second exam and noticed something but said we'd discuss it later. 4 minutes tops. This is the first time that I have ever yelped anyone but after a lifetime of amazing health care and sometimes dealing with challenges with care providers this was absolutely unacceptable. With deep regret I feel that I have to seek care elsewhere. A solution would be for Dr. Omidvar to choose N.P.'s that reflect his manner and professionalism. But that is for his future patients. My wife came under Dr. Yafeh's care after months of a frightening and rapidly progressive…read moreneurological illness. She had gone from being healthy and independent to suffering severe dizziness, slurred speech, loss of coordination, profound weakness, and eventually an inability to function normally. Despite extensive testing and evaluations at multiple facilities, we still did not have a clear explanation for what was happening to her. Dr. Yafeh did not give up on her. What stands out to me most is that Dr. Yafeh continued looking for an explanation when the obvious answers were not working. The records show that my wife had already undergone extensive brain and spine imaging, EMG testing, antibody testing and IVIG treatment without a satisfactory diagnosis or meaningful improvement. Instead of dismissing an extraordinarily complicated case, Dr. Yafeh pursued the possibility of a serious autoimmune neurological disorder. She treated my wife aggressively. Then came what our family considers the critical turning point. During this neurological investigation, imaging revealed a suspicious right axillary lymph node and an abnormality in the right breast. Dr. Yafeh continued to push the investigation forward, including biopsy of the suspicious lymph node. The biopsy ultimately revealed metastatic carcinoma, and the records show that hematology/oncology and breast surgery were brought into the case and chemotherapy was initiated during that hospitalization. Dr. Yafeh also recognized the potential connection between the newly discovered cancer and my wife's devastating neurological condition. Her documentation specifically describes the neurological symptoms as a paraneoplastic syndrome and anticipated that treating the cancer could help bring the neurological disease under control. That is why it is difficult for me to describe what Dr. Yafeh did for our family simply as "good medical care." From our perspective, her persistence helped uncover a cancer that had not previously been identified while my wife's neurological condition was becoming progressively disabling. At the same time, she treated the autoimmune neurological process aggressively rather than waiting for every unanswered laboratory test to come back. My wife subsequently began the long road toward recovery. Today, when I look back at how sick my wife was and how uncertain her future appeared, I cannot separate that recovery from the persistence, clinical judgment and determination Dr. Yafeh demonstrated during those critical weeks. There were many physicians, nurses, therapists, oncologists and other medical professionals involved in my wife's care, and I will always be grateful to them. But Dr. Banafsheh Yafeh holds a very special place in our family's story. She took my wife's condition seriously. She kept searching when the diagnosis was unclear. She recognized that something much larger could be occurring. She treated the neurological disease aggressively. And when evidence of cancer emerged, she helped connect the neurological and oncological pieces of an extraordinarily complicated medical puzzle. My family believes Dr. Yafeh helped save my wife's life. There are no words that adequately express what it means to watch someone you love begin to come back after fearing that you might lose them. For giving my wife that chance, and for giving our family hope when we desperately needed it, I will always be profoundly grateful to Dr. Banafsheh Yafeh. Before all of this, I was a healthy 30 year old who had never dealt with any major medical issues, so navigating recovery was completely new and overwhelming for me. Throughout this journey, Dr. Yafeh has been an incredible source of support, guidance, and I am still under her care today. She is one of the most compassionate and thorough physicians I have ever met. She regularly checked in on me, followed up when needed, and prescribed medications that helped significantly with the severe headaches I experienced after surgery. I am completely weaned off meds now. At the same time, she never made me feel pressured to take medications if I wasn't comfortable. Instead, she always listened to my concerns and worked with me to create a treatment plan that felt right for me. What I appreciate most is that she never rushes through appointments. She takes the time to answer every question and explain things in a way that makes sense. As someone who had never gone through anything like this before, I had a lot of questions, and she never once made me feel bad for asking them. She listens and makes you feel heard. Dr. Yafeh also took the time to educate both me and my husband about what recovery would look like and what challenges we might face along the way. She helped us understand how to navigate this new reality and gave my husband guidance on how he could best support me during my recovery. She has been incredibly helpful with disability paperwork, work restrictions, and helping me obtain modified duty so I could safely transition back to work. In addition, her staff have always been kind and helpful. Most importantly, Dr. Yafeh helped me regain confidence in myself after a life changing event. She helped me adjust to my new normal and reminded me to give myself grace during the recovery process. Apparently all the reviews about their scheduling/desk staff is correct. I kept trying to use their…read more"hold my place in line" feature when calling in and never get a call back. After a week of this, I finally opted to just sit on hold. Turns out they never have a massive queue, the wait is never more than a few minutes. But the staff is an absolute nightmare. Today I spoke with "Hamza" and he talked really quietly unless he was talking over me (which he did the whole time) and refused to make any changes after I explained I have an Auditory Processing Disorder. He then put me on hold to speak to a colleague, left me on hold for nearly 10 minutes then returned to say I needed to send an email. I don't have an email address for them and when I asked why he couldn't schedule me if he's a scheduling operator is because his colleague said they needed my referral first. I told him I have a PPO and don't need one but I can provide contact for the 3 doctors that made the reco I speak to a neurologist if they need. He said his colleague thought I had an HMO - I asked why he would think that and he didn't answer just said he would schedule me. I asked with who and he gave a name I didn't recognize. I asked him to stop, please because it was clear there'd been some miscommunication. He hadn't even taken my insurance so he'd be scheduling blind AND I was calling to get the availability for a specific neurologist at their location. When he again interrupted and reverted to speaking at an inconsistent pace/volume I stated this clearly wasn't working and asked if he could transfer me to someone else. He said yes, put me back on hold, and then rerouted me to the main menu instead. With no other option I re-entered the queue for scheduling operators only to wait my turn and be hung up on. I have since called back at least 5 times, and tried an alternate number for the office I found online. Every time, I wait in the queue, and then when my turn comes, I'm hung up on. I'm sure Hamza thinks he's hilarious but I will be reporting the behavior to my insurance company, and the ADA at bare minimum. I guarantee this behavior is not limited to his phone interactions and if this is how he treats someone with an APD, I cannot imagine how he treats stroke survivors and those with significant cognitive impairment.

The procedure went ok, quite painful, but everything seemed to go as planned. Later that day and for the following week, I was in extreme pain - unable to walk. I called the doctors office three times to leave a message and see if there was something wrong as this was not normal. Each time, my messages were left unanswered - no doctor to respond to my inquiries. I ended up going to Urgent Care for assistance to address the excruitating pain. When I finally was able to speak to someone, it was the front desk who provided me some advise (same that was on my handout - she was not a medical professional, so I didn't have any help in that conversation). I provided the feedback to Dr. ElKhoury- Front desk staff unprofessional, no follow-up at a very vulnerable time in the process and unfortunate. I've since found other Pain Management doctors in OC that have been much better - but I wish, pain management was more than just spinal shots and more thorough review of options.

Avoid Dr. Oh if you have epilepsy or any condition where medication consistency matters…read more My experience with her has been rude, dismissive, careless, and medically dangerous. From the beginning, I found her condescending and unpleasant to deal with. After reading other reviews, that does not seem to be an isolated impression. The bigger issue is not her personality. It is the repeated failure to handle my epilepsy medication responsibly. Multiple times, my prescription was not renewed when it needed to be. In one instance, I was told her license had expired, and no one notified me for over a week. Because of that, I went two days without my epilepsy medication. That is not a paperwork mistake. That is dangerous. Epilepsy medication is not Tylenol. I cannot casually stockpile it because it is a controlled substance. Because her office failed to communicate properly, I had to drive around Los Angeles while experiencing auras and mini-seizures trying to find someone who could help me get my medication filled. That situation could have led to a full seizure, loss of my driver's license, serious injury, or death. When I explained this to her office, they did not seem to care. I was essentially told it was too difficult to notify patients about the license issue. That answer is disgusting. A similar situation happened again recently. I called her office and learned she had been placed on leave for the month, and once again my prescription had not been renewed. I had to go through urgent care just to get medication I should never have been left without. I was off my medication for more than a day again. A neurologist who treats epilepsy patients should understand that missed medication can be life-threatening. Dr. Oh's office treated it like an inconvenience. Based on my experience, I would not trust Dr. Oh with epilepsy care. I would not recommend her to anyone who needs reliability, urgency, or basic concern from a doctor. Her care has been dismissive, careless, and unsafe.

Long story, short....i reached out to their billing dept. IRENE CURIEL responded with half ass responses and could not provide me an itemized statement so she produced her own version. On top of that they provided me a refund, which was questionable. Then 16 months later they deposited a check for $530 and told me it was owed for services...AFTER they provided me the refund for being overcharged!! I went back and questioned IRENE and she has ignored me. I am owed a refund for the $530 and now have to go through the legal process. This office did nothing for my pain only attempted to squander money out of me and it looks like others. It's unfortunate because I was willing to settle this amicably but IRENE doesn't want to be bothered and unprofessionally does not respond. I would not attend this facility. There are other qualified pain management specialists. I have a new one, extremely qualified and have only paid my co-pay.
