Customer service would be a start. The girls that work there are so rude. They seem like spoiled brats. Maybe learn some basic customer service skills or go away and don't work in customer service. The manager is the worst of them. She doesn't seem very educated in how to handle certain situations. Bathrooms are disgusting. You all are pathetic at your job. Do better.

Came here with my husband after neither of us had ice skates in years! It was fun and affordable, not too busy. A little disorganized but not too bad. I like that they have a lot of open skate time options. Glad I got to check it out!

    Absolute shit

The ceiling is broken, water dripping in every locker except the far one. The closest one is literally a maze to avoid the nasty roof sewage water. Someone call the code inspector because there is trash everywhere. The water is literally dripping onto the ice. The air filter is filled with mold.

Before pop culture coined the term tween; but only by about a year or two, I had the privilege of playing ice hockey as a young teen. I had a few 'wordy' on ice debates over this or that during a peewee season. "I think you'll like they way I use 'Pow!', 'Bam!', and 'Zap!' in a sentence." I 'politely' explained to the defense-man, alas, I was cordially invited to take a 'break' from the sport I so loved. Time marches on, or so the song goes, and fifteen years later I still hadn't picked it back up. Shazam! I got this wonder-brained idea about a year ago, I'm going to play ice hockey again! Fifteen years later, the call to get back on the ice was overwhelming, I felt like Uncle Sam himself was calling me to serve my country, do my duty, stand up and take action! I spent a few months debating weather I would do it or not and decided to take the plunge. Being the frugal person I am, I chose to pay the entire season instead of game by game. You'll spend closer to $20 per league game, instead of $25 by paying it upfront. I picked up a few new pieces of necessary gear I didn't already own, a helmet, gloves, athletic protector (those boys are sensitive you know) ;-), and away I went. Suiting up that first time, brought back that feeling of sporting camaraderie you can't find anywhere, at least outside of a locker room. Taped the hockey stick, laced up the skates, pulled on the jersey, buttoned up the helmet, and away I went. The puck dropped for my first rotation on the ice, I skated my heart out, and holy cr*p! What the heck was I thinking! OMG, I think I'm about to die, right here, on the ice. I looked up at the clock, and it was only about 67 seconds into the game, go figure. My next thought was "I knew I shouldn't have paid the 'entire' season. Now I have to come back :-/ " Fast forward nine months, I'm still going back week after week. I can finally make it back to the car after a game without limping the entire way there, and no longer feel like I'm punishing myself for the future possibility of keeping up in Adult League Ice Hockey. I've been told by a number of skaters that while Arcadia doesn't have the best facility, they've got one of the better patches of ice in the valley. Lucky for me, I live only a few miles from here, short commute! Check them out for a free skate, drop in for an open hockey, or join me for C-League. There's always a beginner class happening on the weekend for anyone interested, they'll even loan you out some gear if you'd like to 'try before you buy' so to speak. Happy Yelping Phoenix, see you on the ice!

I was originally going to host my daughters birthday party at the Ice Den, but this place is so much better. Other than the rink, it's small in size, but the party room is very long and fit 25+ people. The host/instructor was AWESOME!!! He got everyone their rental skates, helped the little ones put them on and get to the ice, he helped them learn - almost the whole time! Was really patient with the very little kids AND he served lunch, filled drinks and helped out consistent! Was so easy and nice having the extra help when you gotta cram a whole birthday party into 2.5 hours

Overpriced. Terribly old, uncomfortable skates. This place has great potential if it were kept up better. The bar is awesome though.

This is a nice escape from the Phoenix heat. It's pretty cheap to skate here and never had any issues with their ice or skates here.

Decent ice but no good shinny times. I'd be a much bigger fan if they had evening shinny available, even just once a week.

Great place to skate! As Craig said before me not super flashy but for a cheap way to cool off and have a good time it's a good place to go!

I'm giving Great Skate the second star because Great Skate at least refunded 2 of the 3 grandchildren's fees since 2 of the 3 refused to skate once getting past the Great Skate entrance and seeing what it was like inside. I was there just to bring the kids. I did not skate; I was just 1) a Great Skate spectator, 2) the source of payment to Great Skate and 3) to be responsibile for the kids while they were visiting Great Skate. Nonetheless, I had to sign a Great Skate waiver and I was not allowed to sign the Great Skate waiver without providing an email address. I was more than willing to sign the Great Skate waiver, provide a driver's license, provide my passport, give fingerprints, whatever to just to get inside of Great Skate. But, because the Great Skate waiver is online I could not progress thru the Great Skate waiver without me first forking over my email address. Otherwise, I would be denied the ability to be responsible for the kids. Rather than wait outside the doors of Great Skate while the kids went in by themselves, I gave up my email address . . . just to sit on a bench and watch. Yep, now I'm getting spammed with a relentless barrage of Great Skate email solicitations. They are not about a good CX, just generating more revenue, bolstering the Great Skate spam list and managing data via a rigid Great Skate platform.

Last night I…read morearrived to skate the Saturday 7- 9:30 pm session that had been advertised on the calendar, only to find there was a private function and I wasn't able to enter. I had checked the website earlier THAT SAME DAY to check the session time, and it was still being advertised. There was no notice that the rink would be closed to the public. No one knew about this. I stood in the foyer and watched them turn away whole families and a continuous stream of their regular patrons. This is such a disrespectful way to treat customers. Some of us have a very long drive to get there. My problem is that this wasn't a one-off occasion. THIS IS A REGULAR ISSUE. Multiple times, Mesa has failed to adequately announce closures and facility issues. Their website and socials are always wrong, and if you call to check, no one answers the phone. At a bare minimum, customers need to know when the business is open and when it's shut. That's a baseline operating procedure. There is no excuse in this day and age for not being able to relay reliable opening and closing times. If there is an emergency issue, that's understandable, but failing to notify people about a private booking is not. We just want to know when we can skate. Why can't you even do that? You fail before I even walk in the door.
