I went last night with my family every single staff member was so kind and helpful except the security there so was very hostile and just plain out rude like if she was being forced to work there. She would not stop watching our table as if we were doing something wrong it was 2 babies and 8 adults me and my husband were taking turns watching the children so the other one could go skate and each time we came back it was like we were being monitored all the other security guards there were very kind but it was just that one that looked like she was having a bad night and was itching for something to happen... other than that amazing it was a great night would recommend read more

Very pricey for the experience received. Great Skate charges for everything and are entitled. I won't get into the actual Great Skate skating experience, as that I'll leave up to the grandchildren to review if they feel like they want to. I'm giving Great Skate the second star because Great Skate at least refunded 2 of the 3 grandchildren's fees since 2 of the 3 refused to skate once getting past the Great Skate entrance and seeing what it was like inside. I was there just to bring the kids. I did not skate; I was just 1) a Great Skate spectator, 2) the source of payment to Great Skate and 3) to be responsibile for the kids while they were visiting Great Skate. Nonetheless, I had to sign a Great Skate waiver and I was not allowed to sign the Great Skate waiver without providing an email address. I was more than willing to sign the Great Skate waiver, provide a driver's license, provide my passport, give fingerprints, whatever to just to get inside of Great Skate. But, because the Great Skate waiver is online I could not progress thru the Great Skate waiver without me first forking over my email address. Otherwise, I would be denied the ability to be responsible for the kids. Rather than wait outside the doors of Great Skate while the kids went in by themselves, I gave up my email address . . . just to sit on a bench and watch. Yep, now I'm getting spammed with a relentless barrage of Great Skate email solicitations. They are not about a good CX, just generating more revenue, bolstering the Great Skate spam list and managing data via a rigid Great Skate platform. read more

As a child, you could not get me out of a rollerskating rink. I made my dad take me every Saturday as I just loved skating back then and stil love it now too! I came here for adult skate night with a girlfriend and absolutely enjoyed myself thoroughly! Adult night is really fun, with most people knowing how to skate (nothing wrong with people who are beginners), which made it a lot easier to gauge how others would behave on the wooden rink floor. Music was old school hip hop with a real good DJ and had me bopping and dancing along while we skated! I also loved the dimmed lights and strobe lights, which gave it a club like vibe instead of like in a classroom. I got in two hours of skating, and called it a night. Next time, hopefully, I'll stay for longer as adult skate is 3 hours! Admission was $14 and with tax, a little over $15. Rentals cost more but I dont know how much as I own my own skates. Great way to get your body moving, dance to some good beats, hang out with my gitlfriend and an all around good way to spend an evening! You know I'm gonna be back here again, just like when I was a kid. Gonna also take some lessons to improve my backwards skating and hopefully gain more skills for some fancy footwork on the floor! read more

I stopped by today for my son's school event and I have not been here in YEARS! The place is definitely very much fun!! My son loved it, it was his first time here and wants to come back! They had great songs, good quick food choices, the staff were friendly, the ambiance and vibe in here is amazing and cool! They even had a glow in the dark dance where they shut the big bright lights off and that was super fun! The kids loved it! My son is not a pro at skating yet but he freaking loved it and he wants to come back. They also had Mario there to take pictures with the kids, after the kids skated they even had a dance party for them all! Super cute! It was a good time! I've been skating at Great Skate for years and attend 3-4 times a week. I've spent a significant amount of money supporting this rink because skating is something I genuinely love. Unfortunately, over the last several months, the atmosphere has changed dramatically, and not for the better. What used to be a fun and welcoming environment now feels overly monitored and uncomfortable. The constant questioning from security and staff, even as a long-time regular, has become frustrating. I've repeatedly been asked my age, whether my waiver is signed, and other questions as if I'm a first-time visitor despite being there multiple times each week. The incident that finally prompted me to write this review occurred when a friend and I attended a non-adult skate session. We are both adults with families. I immediately provided my ID when asked. My friend was using her mobile ID and simply needed a moment for it to load. Before she even had the opportunity to show it, a female security guard told us we could not enter and then instructed us to leave the property, claiming we were trespassing. I had already presented valid identification and was a paying customer, yet I was spoken to in a hostile and confrontational manner. The interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and completely disproportionate to the situation. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt harassed. This has not been an isolated experience. On multiple visits, security staff have been rude, dismissive, and overly authoritative. Bag checks are also inconsistent. I've watched some guests walk through with barely any inspection while others, including myself, have had personal belongings handled carelessly and invasively. There should be a standard procedure that is applied respectfully and consistently to everyone. To make matters worse, admission prices continue to increase while the customer experience continues to decline. The music, atmosphere, and customer service simply do not reflect the premium prices being charged. I continue to come because I love skating and have supported this rink for years, but the current environment created by security and staff is making it difficult to enjoy something that used to be one of my favorite places to spend time. Management should seriously reevaluate how customers are being treated because long-time patrons deserve better. read more

This is a very special place with good hearted people. A lot of them helped me find my phone after I tracked it to still being in the skating rink. It is just like the 90s skating rink that I grew up with going to almost to a T. Wood floor is stellar and top tier. The kitchen staff were handling food with no hairnets, some without gloves, and zero care, the whole setup looked like a health code violation waiting to happen. The pizza was so poorly handled that multiple people in my group got sick, including me. And after looking into it, it turns out this isn't even the first time people have reported getting food poisoning from this place. It's honestly shocking that a business serving kids and families can be this careless. Until they fix their food safety practices, I wouldn't touch their food again. This review is specifically calls out the PIZZA, the health inspector has failed Great Skate before for storing food ingredients incorrectly. We've been a few times - school events, attending birthday parties, and just hosted a birthday party. It's not the most up-to-date looking atmosphere, but that feels exactly right for a roller rink. I'd recommend showing up a few minutes before the session you'd like to attend - the line moves very slowly and that cuts into skating time. They do have their last skate song about 20 minutes before the end of the session and then a dance party, but the session is about wrapped up 5 minutes before the posted end time so you can return your skates while they prep for the next session. Skip the snack bar, the food isn't worth your time or money. Your experience will likely vary depending on the other skaters, but that is really out of Great Skate's control. Took my daughter here for the first time and she had an absolute blast. The employees were all very kind. The dj not only djs but skates around and makes sure everyone is ok and being safe. We had a church event at Great Skate with over 50 of us in one group! The general manager was amazing!! I loved Sonya and her positive attitude. Her willingness to help and assist at every moment was superb. We couldn't have asked for a better GM to be by our side the entire night. Sonya checked in on us frequently and was very patient with a group that large. Where most people would have possible become a bit agitated she did not. She conversed and make us feel more than welcome. The DJ was amazing and kept everyone on the floor safe. We really appreciated the engagement and crowd interaction! HA! Great skate... MORE LIKE CHEAP SKATES I wish I could rate 0 stars. I don't even have time to write about all the issues that occurred but I will talk about a few. My bf and I went on 12/30/24 and 12/31/24 and I've never had worse experiences at a roller rink. I thought maybe it was just the day so we decided to give them another try and even worse management of the rink floor. We paid for 3 hours of skating and only got a total of an hour to an 1.5hrs of skating in due to a number of issues with management including; inclusion issues of backwards skaters only songs, floor clean ups, lost items, and an unnecessary dance party at the end that you can't even jam skate too. You're required to take off your skates for the last 15 minutes. It's a total scam and I will never put another penny into this place. I recommend Jessica Perez - current manager - take this review very seriously and incorporate some major changes. read more

Ahhh a big part of my childhood weekends were spent at Great Skate. Recently was here for a kids outing. It was a Sunday 1pm skate round. There was a line about 50 or so deep at that time. The place was busy but just as I remembered. The carpet still stinks and the shoes smell like powder lol. They have concession type food and drinks for sale. The prices are not bad and they have little skate walkers for those that need it. Overall, it's a cool spot to get out of the heat and have some fun with family and friends. I have visited this place twice both times were for school events for my kids the first time was more laid back and you did not hear the dj speak and repeat herself every 5 seconds that was giving me a headache already. The first time my kids and I got the pizza and drinks let me explain I should have already known to not eat the pizza they were short staffed they had two guys struggling to make the pizzas that should have been my sign. So we ate the pizza and we all ended up getting food poisoning that was super fun. Second time we go it was worse than the first time. Everyone that worked there that day was just very pushy and mean. They were so strict with the rules to the point it wasn't enjoyable not that anyone was holding up traffic or anything. But the staff that were helping on the floor blew that damn stupid whistle just to have fun I swear. This time I just got my daughter a cotton candy y'all the cotton candy looked so deflated like they don't ever change the snacks or anything. This place needs some staff training. The part that got me was I honestly thought water would be okay to bring in nope they will make you dump it and you can get water there but it's DISGUSTING not all water tastes good. Went to Great Skate for an event. I have not been to a roller skating rink since I was little back in the 90s, but it definitely took me back. The place opened at 10 and there was a line outside at least 15-20 mins before 10. They have a good pay scale for a party or event, but if you want something extra like a guide support you have to pay a pretty penny to rent it. The food is decent, typical skating rink foods. We had the pizza and it was okay. I will say I do like that they make all skaters wear wrist guards to help prevent injuries (that is definitely an improvement from when I was little.) Sadly this does not help if you fall on your leg wrong. While we were there a girl fell and looked to have broken her leg. I could see us going back again for future events or parties. read more

This was my first time in a long time going to a skating rink and it was my son's first time ever. We had a blast! We had our own skates but the process to get in was quick and simple. As stated on their website and in the building everyone is required to wear wrist guards. If you have your own I would suggest bringing them. Not that theirs were dirty or anything it's just a me thing with germs. They have an arcade area as well as lockers available if needed. We got there right before 6pm and it wasn't busy, got more busy around 7pm but we were still able to skate without tripping over each other. Toxic, rude, and inattentive staff. When skating, two of the worse things you can do as a "floorguard" is get in the way, and cause needless collisions. Several of the floorgaurds are constantly going the opposite direction as the flow or traffic, badmouthing anyone who the cut off, or cause to fall. This being said, a few of the more experienced guards are quite good at what they do. The majority of the staff couldn't care less about the overall wellbeing and enjoyment of those who pay to use the skating facilities. In all seriousness they are just in it to get a quick buck. If you have the opportunity to visit another rink over this one, I would recommend it. You will skate in a less crowded area, enjoy a more friendly staff, and probably save some money. read more

Extremely disappointed in our first visit to GreatSkate. I paid for 4 children, 4 skates, and 3 skate assists as well as a spectator fee in supervise my own children and their friends while they skate. The skate desk refused to give my son a skate assist bc he is "too tall" so, I decided that I would just rent skates and help my son myself however, the admissions desk refuses to allow me to switch my spectator wristband to a skater wristband without paying all over again and wouldn't discount the $4 off the new price to accommodate for the fact that I already paid $4 to watch my own kids. For the simple cost of a $7 skate assist, $4 wristband discount, and your rude teenager employees - I will NEVER recommend anyone to step foot inside or spend money inside this building. read more

We're not local to the area but stopped in for a Saturday morning session with the family and had a great time. We almost didn't go based on some of the poor reviews. Not sure if they've recently renovated or what but we found the rink in great shape, plenty of friendly staff and terrific music with an attentive DJ. Also the skate floor seems to be either new as it's also in great shape. It's small bummer you have to fill out a waiver, plus go thru a metal detector and wear wrist guards (which they supply for free and were very clean) but it all went quickly and again the young staff were very patient and kind. They were even inspecting skates, told me I needed toe stoppers to provide their newly installed floor, which doesnt make sense cause toe stoppers leave more marks.
