The tacos were average. Good, not bad or great. If I lived closer and didn't know a better place I'd definitely go here. The service was great, the price was fair and the quality was good. The restaurant was clean and had adequate seating and very comfortable. There is nothing bad about this restaurant but also nothing that stands out where I'd say you have to go here because it's got the best "something ". That's why it gets 3 stars if you follow my reviews.

Camarones Al mojo de ajo... so good that my wife stole my dish and ate before I could get a bite.

Really great family restaurant, small quaint and clean. The restrooms were squeaky clean. I ordered the Camarones de ajo (picture a Mexican version of the "Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Plate", which was sooo good. We also ordered some soft tacos. Definitely surprised us how good the food was.

The food is always consistent. Just a few things you should know ahead of time. Chips and Salsa are extra. The large 20 ounce Aguas Frescas are about $5 each which is unheard of. The breakfast burrito has a $1 extra charge for your choice of protein like sausage which we thought was part of the menu choice. There's also a debit/card fee. Overall, portions are great and this is a good menudo spot. We just thought for 2 adults and 1 child it was pricey.

Went for lunch with my husband and we enjoyed all our food! I had three tacos: cabeza, al pastor, and carne asada. My husband had a burrito. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Reasonably priced and quick service. Come support this small local business!

Great food been coming here for 15 years. Great family business. The staff here is awesome and great to talk too.

Carne asada chimichanga and pollo torta... amazing!

Amazing, definitely going to come back. Reminds me of Mexican food I'd get in Texas, I missed that.

I randomly was craving Asada fries and came here since it's right by my place. The price is $10. The fries, while hot, were soggy. I actually, picked out a lot of the fries and put them in my air fryer to cook a little longer and get a crunch. That did the trick. Visited: 10/25/21

Mucho Taco falls closer to 2.5 stars-average. The prices are very good and the staff was very friendly. Let me start with some positives: the salsa was fresh and tasty as in these were whole tomatoes 5 minutes ago. veggies on the tacos were also fresh and crisp. I had a fish taco & a carnitas taco-total about $4.50. The fish was decent but the carnitas was pretty gristly. I overheard the kitchen staff talking to a customer and found out that they make liberal use of the "L" word here. That's right, old school cookin' for better or worse; Lard.

Best Menudo ever! I've also had tacos, burritos and enchiladas here and they are all delicious... I've lived in Chandler now for 20+ years and this place is my Saturday/Sunday go to for those pesky hangovers lol

Mucho de nada. My fish taco consisted of three nuggets of very deep fried "fish" laying into mini tortillas covered with shredded iceberg. I skipped the entire fish taco and had the soupy refried beans and overcooked rice that came with it. The highlight was our our waiter, great guy, on top of his incoming orders and tables. Ron had an enchilada combo, cheese and chicken. Those two minuscule items bathed in a bloody tomato soup.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance, customer service, and drinks were amazing. I'm a HUGE mezcal lover, and they had a great assortment of mezcals and tequilas to choose from. If that's your thing, you will definitely appreciate their drink menu! Since we were heading to a show afterward, we didn't want to get too full, so we decided to share a few appetizers instead of ordering full entrées. The portions were surprisingly generous! We tried the chicharrón with guacamole, ahi tuna tostadas, and the Aguachile ribeye. Everything was delicious, but the ribeye was definitely a favorite. We're already fans of it from their sister restaurant, Blu Seafood, so we knew we had to order it here. Just keep in mind that at Agave it's served as an appetizer, so the portion is smaller so but absolutely worth it! And of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We finished with their tres leches cake, and OMG... absolutely amazing. The perfect ending to the night! A special shoutout to our waitress, Jazmyn. She gave us incredible service, was so kind, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the menu. She made an already great experience even better. Great atmosphere, amazing drinks, delicious food, and outstanding service. We will DEFINITELY be back!

It fed the both of us just right. For dessert we had the Tres Leches cake and man we loved it too. The cake was moist and sweet but the ice cream was mild so it went perfect with the cake. This is the first restaurant I have ever reviewed twice on Yelp--and for good reason. The Mexicano…read moreis, without exaggeration, the single best Mexican restaurant I have patronized in my entire life. My wife and I first came here about a month ago, and the food was so incredible that we had to return. Our second visit confirmed that the first wasn't a fluke. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, everyone is friendly, the illuminated decorations create a fun atmosphere, and even the music is at the perfect volume. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste it. From the salsa served with the chips to the green, cream, and red enchilada sauces, every sauce is phenomenal--fresh, flavorful, and not overly salty. My wife ordered the taco trio with the crispy beef tacos we loved during our first visit. They are the best crispy beef tacos we've ever had. The meat is folded inside the tortilla before the whole taco is deep-fried, then topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, crema, and queso fresco. I ordered the enchilada divorciada with chicken tinga, Mexican cheese blend, crema fresca, cilantro, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. One enchilada was covered in green sauce and the other in a rich red sauce. Beautiful presentation and incredible flavor. I normally wouldn't single out the rice on a Mexican plate, but this rice deserves it. It was light, fluffy, never clumpy, and full of flavor. Clearly homemade--and homemade extremely well. The food arrived piping hot and so quickly that it actually beat our cocktails to the table--and the drinks didn't take long! I had a double dirty martini and my wife had a Long Island iced tea. Both were noticeably stronger than standard restaurant cocktails. They definitely don't skimp on the alcohol. The waitstaff are impeccably trained--attentive without being intrusive. They check back within a minute or two, and finished dishes disappear almost immediately. Two floor managers also came by to check on us, laughing and joking and making us feel genuinely welcome. At one point I retrieved a menu to check the spelling of a dish. A manager noticed, rushed over, and apologetically asked whether someone had forgotten to give us one. I explained that everything was fine, but his awareness and concern were incredibly refreshing. I also appreciated their sanitation practices. Bussers don't carry open tubs of dirty dishes through the dining room; they take the trays directly to the back. Each table is also cleaned with a fresh disposable wipe instead of the same dirty rag being reused from table to table. Finally, the made-to-order pineapple flan takes about 15 minutes because it isn't frozen or prepackaged. Once you've reached perfection, there is no need to change, so I ordered it again. It comes in caramel sauce with warm pineapple, whipped cream, and a crisp wafer. The texture is unbelievably smooth and creamy, with exactly the right sweetness. It is literally the best flan I have ever eaten. Even my wife, who doesn't like flan, loves this flan. My wife summed it up perfectly: If you want Mexican food with a genuine home-cooked quality, this is probably the best place you could choose. The Mexicano has exceptional food, strong drinks, impeccable service, outstanding cleanliness, and truly attentive management. This isn't merely my favorite Mexican restaurant in Chandler--it is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever patronized anywhere. We will absolutely be back!

Disappointing Experience Despite a Beautiful Atmosphere…read more From the moment we arrived at the mexicano, the experience was somewhat disappointing. The entry area is extremely small for a restaurant of this size. While the hostess was wonderful--polite, friendly, and quick to seat us--the cramped entrance made the initial impression less than ideal. We were seated at a high-top table directly across from the bar. This seemed like an odd choice for a family of four with a child and wasn't particularly comfortable. It was also about 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table. She was polite, but seemed rushed to take our drink and food orders. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees so that everyone could try something different. Unfortunately, most of the food arrived only slightly warm rather than hot, and the portions were surprisingly small given the price. The shredded beef crispy tacos were, quite honestly, some of the worst tacos I've ever had. The fish tacos were tough and overcooked. The enchiladas, however, were the highlight of the meal and the one dish we genuinely enjoyed. The presentation of all the dishes was attractive and thoughtfully done, but unfortunately, the appearance was much better than the food itself. The rice was undercooked, and each entree came with what appeared to be only a couple of tablespoons of rice. The refried beans were a good portion and had a nice flavor, although they were quite salty. Service was another major issue. Our waitress only returned to the table twice during the approximately 90 minutes we spent eating and waiting. While she was always polite, the lack of attention made the overall experience feel neglected. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The atmosphere is pleasant, modern, and very clean, and the presentation of the food was excellent. Unfortunately, those positives couldn't make up for the quality of the meal and the service. Our bill was $158 for four people, including four entrees, one appetizer, and water with lemon. At that price, we expected a much better overall experience. Instead, we all left hungry and disappointed. Atmosphere: Excellent Service: Below average Food: Disappointing, with the exception of the enchiladas Value: Poor Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and plenty of potential, but the food quality, portion sizes, service, and value simply weren't there for us.

It was clean, the staff responded quickly to me, but I was the only person at lunchtime on the restaurant side, and there were only two people on the bar side. Despite that it was loud. They need sound attenuation, My server was prompt, and freely shared her menu favorites when I asked. Sadly I'm not really a mole fan, her recommendation, but did try the enchiladas divorciadas. First the chips and salsa... the salsa was basically puréed tomatoes. No heat at all. Just some salt. I asked for something spicier and the server found me some habanero salsa. That was tasty, but it probably had very little habanero in it. Again, no better than a low-med heat. I grew up across the southwest so to me that was disappointing. The enchiladas? I really wanted to like this place but honestly? It was unseasoned boiled and shredded chicken, wrapped in a raw / untoasted tortilla. And drowned in some that was not enchilada sauce. The red sauce tasted like tomato sauce. I'm used to red sauce being pepper based. The spicier and more roasted the better. No pepper discernible. The green sauce tasted like it had a hint of green Chiles but mostly tomatillo. Also boring but better than the red. Neither was good. I ate it, I was hungry and it wasn't greasy, but... this was a midwestern spice-hating simulacrum of an enchilada. No bueno, demasiada aburrida. So to sum it up; decent but slightly loud facility, wonderful server, and I would say forgettable food but the reality is it was unforgettably boring.

The carne asada was flavorful, tender, and clearly high quality, and the burrito itself was packed with great ingredients and balanced flavors. The added guacamole was the perfect finishing touch. I had a similar dish last time I was in San Carlos deep sea fishing and this was right there on flavor and freshness! Very comfortable atmosphere with bright color mural paintings and mariachi music playing in the background gave the feeling that I was in Mexico! Afterwards I learned that the owner is from San Carlos! Wow! Small world! We will be back! Highly recommended for Baja Mexican food!

I ordered the tuna tostada and a small side of rice. Both were packed with flavor! Cute spot with artwork around Next time I come I want to try the drinks here! My server was Jeny and she was nice.
