I ate here on a Friday night while visiting Arizona. Very nice ambiance. We were seated just as the live band was finishing up. We got the elotes and guacamole with chips for appetizers. The Elotes were superb. The guacamole lacked flavor and salt. For main course I had the chicken green Chile enchiladas, which came with rice and beans. They were scrumptious. My sister and mother enjoyed their dishes as well (mole enchiladas and bacon wrapped shrimp tacos). I do wish they gave you more beans. The portion was skimpy. read more

What in the actual....... The carne asada was not what some of the other reviews described...... it was dry and had a burnt taste to it. The mole enchiladas- ok sauce was like 10/10 it tasted so good, BUT BUT BUT it was cold AF. My meal was not even lukewarm. (And I even saw this as a complaint in other reviews) I would have rather waited an extra 15 mins to get my food than to eat something that was the same temperature as something that came out of the fridge. I honestly (never worked in the food service industry) cannot even understand how a meal that was just prepped could be so cold? Do I even want to know? I thought the review that mentioned Taco Bell was extremely rude, but they might be right just sayin........... so expensive and probably one of the worst meals I have had out. We keep coming back here for a reason. If you are in the East Valley and want a place with a serious tequila program, this is it. Kevin, the manager, runs this place exceptionally well. You can feel it in the consistency, the energy, and the overall experience. What really sets it apart is the tequila selection he curates. He brings in unique, high quality bottles you do not typically see, and it shows a level of care that tequila lovers will appreciate. The Mexico City elote is a must. Packed with flavor and always on point. The Rib Eye Aguachile is one of our go to orders, especially with the quesadillas it comes with. We always add bone marrow on the side and it completes the whole experience. The ribeye was a little overcooked this time, but still good and not a deal breaker for us. Matthew took great care of us. Kind, attentive, and made everything feel easy. We came on a Wednesday and it was packed, so make a reservation. Parking is limited, so Ubering is the best move if you plan to enjoy the tequila. First time eating here, and will definitely go back! We had a reservation for four of us and were promptly seated by a friendly host! Our server Jazmine was excellent, not over bearing and always checked in at the right time. All the individuals running food and drinks were also great and friendly! The cocktails had fun presentations and the taste was on point. All the food we ordered was perfectly executed! The Short Rib Platter with Bone Marrow was melt in your mouth. We ordered it to share between two of us and had a lot left over as well. It made for excellent repurposed breakfast tacos. I've heard nothing but good things about Miel de Agave so decided to check it out for my Dad's birthday dinner. To be honest, only 2 things really stood out from this dinner. 1) Their mango margarita 2) Ribeye Aguachile Everything else was just okay. For dinner, I ordered their MDA NY Steak but felt like more than half of it was just fatty pieces. I had had a very stressful week and was in desperate need of a good spicy margarita! Earlier in the week, one of my good good girlfriends passed away and I was devastated. Anyway, I decided to come back here because I remember that their spicy margaritas were off the chain! I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint! In fact, I had two of them and they were quite tasty. I sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. There were several bartenders behind the bar, and it seemed that each one made sure that I was taken care of! Nice touch! I felt seen and heard! Since I was there, I thought I would try the Infamous Quessabirria tacos entrée. OMG! It was fabulous! It comes with two dipping sauces and some charred beans. This place went above our expectations. We came here for a celebratory dinner, and our server, Ana asked us about that right away. She was very kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our steaks were unbelievable. We were actually planning on going to the Keg before realizing it hadn't opened yet. These steaks were better! They were seasoned to perfection, and cooked perfectly. I got the green chili cream enchiladas. 1 steak 2 chicken... the presentation was nice. The food was not. The steak had a ton of gristle. It wasn't a few bites it was almost every other bite. So I continued with the chicken... the chicken was CUBED. Not seasoned. I couldn't get over how chunky the chicken was and did not continue eating. I definitely do not recommend this dish. I've got mixed feelings. First, the good: parking was easy, service was super fast, and the inside is really nice. Lots of greenery, elevated lighting, and the whole space has this rainforest-meets-modern vibe that feels thoughtfully designed. There were no tables available, although it did not seem too crowded--(No problem though, so friends and I sat at the bar.) We ordered a few apps and got the Sonoran tacos as my entree. I really wanted to love this place because the food is phenomenal. I had the chicken green chili cream enchiladas, and they were absolutely delicious--easily 5-star quality. However, the rest of the experience was a letdown. We visited on a Saturday afternoon (3/28/26) and the service was frustratingly slow. There seemed to be only one server working the floor while multiple runners just stood around the bar area. The drinks are a total rip-off. I had the Paloma, very refreshing and tasty but could not taste the tequila. The worst part of that, we paid $17+ per cocktail, only to realize there was little to no alcohol in them. Pro-tip: Come for the food, but save your money and grab a drink at one of the many bars down the street in downtown Chandler instead. Or stick to wine & beer. Hubby and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and this was a meal that did not disappoint! The inside is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner for 2 or a girls night out with the group. We started with cocktails and an order of the elote. Hubby's paloma was refreshing and light and my carajillo was perfectly balanced. As an avid espresso martini lover, it was a perfect option for something new that fit the vibe The elote was also wonderful. Grilled corn topped with traditional elote toppings, it was sweet, smoky, spicy, and delicious. For entrees, I had the NY Steak, cooked to a perfect medium with a lovely, herby chimichurri and parmesan truffle fries. The fries were truffle-y but not overdone, something many restaurants struggle to execute well. Hubby had the pasta Bacanora: tender shrimp, wrapped in crispy bacon, served on the most creamy, delicious pasta, with perfectly grilled sourdough bread. We ended the meal with the tres leches cake, which, although it did not need the ice cream, was one of the better tres leches cakes I have had in a while. Here's the good, bad, and ugly about this place. We had a Christmas gift card from our kids who heard great things about the food here, so we were excited to try a higher end Mexican restaurant. Food: I have mixed feelings about this. First, I do not recommend the pasta with chicken. My wife got it, and the chicken pieces were obviously processed (uniform size, color, etc) lukewarm, and tough. If you've had those prepared chicken pieces from Costco in the refrigerated section, that's what these are like. Okay for a protein boost for a cold salad, but not actually tasty on their own. Don't be fooled by the grilled chicken breast description. This wasn't freshly cooked. It was more tough and dry, than juicy and flavorful, yet somehow the juices from the chicken soaked into the pasta, and it imparted an unpleasant flavor. They likely cut open a bag and dumped it into the already cooked pasta. The Infamous Birria tacos were juicy and delicious. The sauces were so-so. I've definitely had more flavorful birria consume. There was no cilantro flavor which is good for some people, but I rather enjoy cilantro. The tacos were served with a very small amount of beans which were salty and delicious, but not smokey in case you prefer your charro beans to taste smokey. We also ordered chips and guacamole for an appetizer. The guacamole was delicious and tasted fresh. They brought plenty of guacamole. They didn't bring enough chips and never asked if we wanted more. There was plenty left for the tacos. Service: The service is a mixed bag. The wait staff was quick to refill the water, but we ended up waiting a while for the check. Our waiter never brought out a manager, but he knew we were disappointed with the chicken pasta. He did not offer to comp the meal which basically was wasted. For $28, that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. When it came to paying, they brought out a machine to pay and never offered to print a copy of the receipt. The machine tip starts at 20% which is a bit presumptuous when the service did not deserve it in my opinion. Ambiance: It was okay. The wait staff dressed nicely. The lighting was quite dark. It looked pretty nice. My plate had no fewer than 6 chips, and not the food kind. This is a health code violation according to someone I talked to who worked in culinary. They shouldn't have been using it anymore, but they did. Price: They are trying to be on the fancier side, but they have a long way to go to compete with prime steak houses in terms of a quality experience. They do need to step up their game in my opinion to justify their place. We probably won't be coming back. read more

We celebrated with the 3 of us after going there in the past and having a great experience . 1. We were placed in a table right by the servers and bar. High traffic , constantly dodging servers going by as the tables for 4 were small . 2. The manager made no effort to accommodate us to other tables even though there were several available telling us we would have to wait a hour to switch. 3. We ordered drinks and waited 40 minutes until we received them. 4. The food also took a longer than normal. 5. Even getting refills of water took longer and we had to ask repeatedly I. Closing our server was pleasant and apologized for the delays , but clearly the manager didn't have a handle on the lead times and or made any attempt to help expedite or comp us for the delays. Oh boy, it started with a beautiful entrance just off of Arizona Ave. We were seated right away on a Tuesday evening. No reservations. Staff is nicely dressed in uniform for serving their customers. We tried a cocktail that was half mojito and half mule!!! OH MY GOODNESS! This was just delicious....also with this drink came a tiny little EXCITEMENT BOMB in the form of a "Buzz Button." They place this small plant bud into the top of your drink and you nibble on it as you sip your drink....WHAT IS GOING ON WILL EXCITE YOUR TASTE BUDS!!! I can't really explain in detail how wonderful this little burst of "what the heck was that "...I wanted more. Ok, so on to the dinner. Again, they did not disappoint... hubby had the triple cheese burger and it was the best he has had! I chose the Sonora tacos with steak and chicken...sooo delicious. Shout out to Ana!! She was the perfect blend of patience and professionalism that made the experience that much better. She explained everything and was so helpful because it was our first time. Omg...I passed this place a billion times thinking there's no way this place could be good sandwiched between Black Rock and Jersey Mikes. Then I started hearing about it from fellow foodies. Then I read reviews. Then I got curious. Why did I wait so long to go?! So many wasted dinners at "meh" restaurants! The drinks were delightful and so fun! Mine came smoking from dry ice around it. I also had a Miel take on an espresso martini. Both were so yummy! As someone who drinks maybe a bevy once in a while when I'm out these days, the fact that they got me to drink two is kind of a big deal! We had the elote and potato tacos to start. Both were FABULOUS. Like, I dream about the tacos. Also, just a note, I brought one home and heated it up on the stove then put a fried egg over it and it was the best breakfast. Then I had the bacanora pasta. Why? I don't know. I should have gotten the enchiladas. It was def good, but I regret it. I got scared and got the weirdest thing you can possibly get at a Mexican restaurant. Husband got the birria torta. The flavor was outstanding. I ate a lot of his food. The one thing I will say: I had one of my kiddos with me and there were probably 10 other kids at the restaurant. Chandler is very family friendly. Now let's talk about the presentations on the cocktails, incredibly impressive. It's a must video. Each appetizer also has a beautiful presentation along with the main meals. I had the "Me Quiere No Me Quiere" and the Smoke Old Fashion both do incredibly yummy. We started with the Pork Belly, highly recommend it comes with guacamole macha chile and tortillas. Service was extremely poor. We asked for salsa on two separate occasions and never received it. It did make its way on the bill, however. The elote appetizer was still very good. Tuna appetizer was so so. I had ordered it in the past and it was previously better. QUESABIRRIA tacos were soggy. Parking could be a little frustrating since it isn't a busy area and also the entrance is through the patio, which could be confusing to some people. The service was great once I got inside and the menu had many options to choose from, but not too many anywhere. It was hard to tell what some of the popular dishes would be. A lot of good recommendations from the server and ended up getting a delicious pasta with Carne Asada steak as another entrée. Would highly recommend getting any of their tacos as though two that we got were spectacular and filled with flavor. Excellent and welcomed addition to the downtown Chandler restaurant scene. This place offers a great getaway from the mundane and ordinary and transports you away to a chic, contemporary Latin oasis. The food is excellent. Our waiter Matthew provided excellent and very attentive service and he was super helpful with making great recommendations that we enjoyed. What we loved the most about this place is the variety on the menu which included traditional Mexican dishes, pastas, salads as well as succulent steaks and surf&turf. I sat at the bar during my visits and had consistently great service each time. The bartenders were knowledgeable and able to make unique cocktail recommendations based on what I was looking for, which I appreciated. Get the salsa macho, its spicy but has hints of roasted cacahuate and roasted chili de arbol to enhance the flavor of the steak. There was one cocktail that wasn't exactly the flavor profile I initially had in mind, but they were attentive, accommodating, and happy to adjust things to better match what I was looking for. The staff overall seemed to genuinely care about creating a good experience and taking care of their customers. I enjoyed the Chandler location so much that I ended up visiting the downtown Phoenix location afterward as well. Parking at both locations could probably become difficult during busier times. Chandler had more street-style parking with some adjacent parking nearby, while downtown Phoenix relied more on metered parking. That said, during the week it really wasn't bad at all.
