Stopped by here for some breakfast burritos and they were actually so good. I got the steak egg and cheese with potato and it was delicious. The meat was good. I like how they layer the burrito and it's not all mixed together. The drinks were good. Horchata was a tad sweet but still good. read more

Had a craving for a breakfast burrito and I'm from out of town but I visit once I a while. Turning to Yelp I found this small business with rave reviews and off I went. At the front the sign simply says Mexican Food but you're in the right place. The interior is simple clean and has a charming local vibe. I came for the breakfast burritos but they have much more than that on the menu. I had the bacon breakfast burrito which comes with eggs cheese and potatoes. Every bite had bacon- it was a generous serving of meat and an even mix of eggs and potatoes. I point this out because there are places out there that pack with potato and give you less of the good stuff. Had salsas available, the tortilla was fresh and one of my favorite parts, and even though it was a big burrito it didnt feel super heavy. A+ will come here again in the future. read more

I have been looking for a Mexican spot near me that offers potato tacos, which is surprisingly hard to find. My mom used to make the best potato tacos, so I crave them often. I decided to try this spot for lunch yesterday. You can order directly on their website for pickup, which is very convenient. I ordered a potato taco and a side of rice. I basically inhaled the food, it was so delicious! The taco was topped with cheese, crema and cabbage. The potato inside was well seasoned, and the rice on the side was just perfect with it. Prices are very reasonable, and much lower than alot of other places. I can't wait to try more items soon! read more

My husband and I were looking to try a new Taco spot and found ourselves near Chikiliquis. It's located in a unassuming strip mall. The parking lost had ample spots. The inside had a few various tables and booths, but not large by any means. Their menus on Yelp and their website did not reflect exactly what they had in store and the prices were a bit off, but we ended up getting a mini taco plate with double refried beans, a breakfast burrito, a sonoran dog and some of their elote en vaso. The mini taco plate came stuffed to the brim with protein and toppings and was delicious and the refried beans were flavorful and creamy. The burrito was solid and my husband said his dog hit the mark. The Elote was a bit to mayo heavy for us and we ended up taking it home to add more corn and enjoy it later. The salsa's are also delicious and you can take the entire bottle to the table for a perfect bite each time. They have an extensive menu from breakfast items, combination plates, specials and everything in between. There is definitely something for everyone, including fish and shrimp as well as veggie options. Overall, it hit the mark and if we found ourselves nearby we would happily visit again, though I am not sure if I would go out of my way. read more

This place was good! Super clean inside and the service was fast and great. You order your food, sit down and they bring it out to your table. I went with the Diablo Taco (shrimp), Carne Asada Taco and a bean and cheese burrito. The tacos are stacked! I couldn't even see the corn tortillas! Both were flavorful and tasty. The food is so good & they have great customer service! I had the tacos; 1 chicken and 1 shrimp. They tasted great; authentic Mexican style tacos made with fresh meat & homemade corn tortillas. Good sized; I was full after eating 1 (but had to try a couple bites of the next one before giving up hee hee). My coworker suggested it and glad she did. I loved it! I discovered this place several months ago. It's small inside but the food is great. The service is good as well. My normal order is a chimichanga dinner. I've ordered it with various meats and it's always delicious. The beans and rice are a must for me too. So tasty... In fact, I've been back twice since my first visit! To wash down the delicious meal, I tried their horchata, and let me tell you, it was superb. However, one thing to note is that there's a 4% card charge, which was a bit of a downer. So, if you plan on dining here, it's best to bring cash to avoid the extra fee. My first time here, but definitely not my last. You order your food at the counter, and your food is brought to you. They prefer cash but accept credit cards. There is a fee added if you use a credit card. I ordered the carne asada combination plate, which comes with rice, beans, pico, guacamole, and HOMEMADE tortillas. Whenever I get rice at a Mexican restaurant, that is the first thing I try. If the rice is good, I know the rest of the food will be good. The rice was delicious! It's almost as good as my mom's and my mom makes the best rice. The carne asada was seasoned perfectly. The homemade tortillas were the cherry on top. They have the beat breakfast burritos in Arizona and serve a diverse menu of authentic Mexican food from lengua tacos and enchiladas to burritos of all types and Carne asada fries. You are sure to find what you love here and they offer many hot sauces to choose from our favorite was the habanero but be warned it is HOT. Quesabirrias were great too, ill be coming back to try everything, service was great very friendly, its a quien little spot very low key and peaceful, which is good to enjoy your food in peace, you wouldnt know it was there on the side of frys until you walked right up on it. But i like it that way, i want to keep it secret, but i want them successful enough to stick around. The price per taco seems a lot at 5-7$ but the portion and flavor easily reflects the price and effort of the cooking so very worth it. You wont regret eating here, and youll need a fork and extra napkins for these delicous piled up authentic tacos. This place is a winner! read more

Honestly, probably my favorite tacos in town. I always order the Pollo Asado and the California Taco. The horchata is perfect to polish it off. Love the salsas and the tortillas are soft and thicker than a typical corn tortilla, which just takes them over the top. Omg blink and ya might miss it! Chikiliquis hand make the tortillas and it shows. The food is very close to authentic. I have eaten here 3 times in under 4 days. Everything in the menu sounds delicious, the Diablo taco is by far my favorite with generous portions of shrimp and the chipotle sauce is the yummiest. The Carne asada fries are great quality, not just leftover meat thrown on some overdone or underdone, soggy fries. But, quality Carne asada on some good fries. Give this place your business, you will not be disappointed! My only recommendation (more of a plea) is to get rid of the air fresheners! The glade plug ins are not something I want to taste while eating or smell when I walk into a restaurant. I want to smell the meats, the food being made in the kitchen! There is no need for any in front of house. Oh, and DONT FORGET to order the Horchata, it's delicious! read more

Super friendly staff that takes the time to ask you about your day while you wait for the food. It's the small things. Also their salsas are straight FIRE!!!! That green tomatillo sauce is freaking delicious. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. Sadly I have to update my review of this place and give it a low rating. This is something I've put off for quite some time because as someone who was a chef and worked in restaurants for some years, I understand that there are ups and downs and there is a multitude of reasons for why something can go wrong. It truly pains me to tell you that the quality hasn't been the same since I left my last review. I have ordered from this place multiple times only to find the food is bland and 9 times out of 10 half of my order is missing. To be fair I order takeout a lot because it's convenient for my lifestyle and I know that peak freshness is attained by actually going to the restaurant and eating the food there. So I won't be talking about the temperature of the food and I have no comments about the place itself, service or the aesthetic inside. The biggest issue I have is how often I've ordered from here to have half my order missing or the food being underwhelming and below the quality standard that I was accustomed to before. Very seldom I have gone inside to actually pick up my order and it honestly seems like there might be a staffing issue and maybe that is why things aren't as they used to be. I am done wasting my money here and I absolutely do not recommend eating here if you want quality southern Cali style Mexican food. Unfortunately I have to update my review. This place is NOT the same as when they first opened. I think the business just grew too fast. They opened an AZ location and Vegas location around the same time. In the beginning it was actually great food we would eat they a few times a week and brought so many friends there. The cook that always wore a blue hat was AWESOME and you could totally tell this place originated from San Diego California. They have since lost so many employees that the women that originally just took orders are now doing the cooking. The food is just gross and always tastes like dirty grill and the breakfast burritos have burnt eggs. The meat used to taste seasoned and even marinated but now it's just gross. Since moving to AZ from California I was not a huge fan of the Mexican food here because not many places use salty seasoning or marinades but this places sauces and flavors were on point...It's sad because this place had great potential but now it's like a ghost town.
