My wife can be pretty particular when it comes to carne asada, so she was a little hesitant when I suggested we share it. After a few bites, she couldn't get enough! As much as we loved the burrito, Espo's has become a go-to spot for our family because of their Taco Tuesday special. Their 10-taco plate for around $12 is an incredible value, especially for families. I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Espo's. This place used to be one of my favorites, but it has gone completely downhill. The taco meat in my meal was raw, so I had to send it back and have my order remade. Even after that, the food was bland, lacked flavor, and unfortunately made me feel sick after eating it. On top of the food quality, the seating is incredibly uncomfortable and could really use an upgrade. It's hard to enjoy a meal when you're uncomfortable the entire time. This is a family business that I've been going since the 80! Always authentic and delicious Mexican food. That's when Chandler Blvd was still two lane road and called Williams Field road. We enjoy Espos for Tacos Tuesdays. We arrived a little before 7pm and waited for about 5 minutes to order. They called our number about 5 minutes later. Pretty efficient service as there was constant traffic. They offer 10 street tacos for $12.50 with choice of ground beef, chicken, shredded beef, carnitas or carne asada on Tuesday's. We ordered 10 carne asada tacos to share. They offer a nice self serve topping bar that includes a generous selection, three sauces, pickled red onions, cabbage, lettuce, limes. Freshly made corn tortillas give the tacos a home made flavor. Although the tacos are small, sharing 10 provided a satisfying meal for us. They have table inside and on the patio. Espos is a great fast casual dining experience. I recently ate her again and the quality has been consistent for 9 years. The food is very flavorful and filling. My husband and I shared the chicken enchilada plate which came with 2 enchiladas, rice and beans. I love their green sauce. We do love Espo's as they are close, it's a small family owned business and overall the food is good...consistency is sometimes a problem, as it was today. So wife just about to bite down on the toothpick that was left in her flauta...huge safety risk! I ordered the carne asada plate that comes either burrito style or as a plate with flour tortilla; which is how I ordered it. Got home and no tortilla...too much to go back so let it go. Guacamole was way spicy today! This is where consistency is an issue because I think it depends on who is making it. Some days it's perfect and other days it's spicy hot like today. First time going in. Couple things to note, 1. It is not fancy. Only one total restroom, and its outside. For how hot it is in Arizona, would recommend an inside restroom, and having 2. 2. 2 burritos and 2l3 tacos ran 40 dollars. Extremely pricey in relation to other places I go. Service was ok, its a cashier, no table service. 4. Food was good, but not the best I've had in the phoenix area, not even close. I would try somewhere else for sire before coming back, but if this was my only option I would ear here again but get the food to go. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I think their Green Chili plate with beans, rice and a tortilla is the best Green Chili in Arizona. Their Machaca and Chorizo options are also excellent. They have a salsa bar, but I don't feel like they offer a hot option, nor do they offer free chips. Nevertheless, I continue to recommend this place without hesitation. When the weather is nice, sitting on their patio is a great experience. I've simply never had a bad meal here. I've driven by when this place is packed and always thought it looked fun. I had time to try it today and I think I didn't know what to order or its just not for me.. I got the carne asada and carnitas tacos. These were just ok. The meat on both was just too soft and kinda wet for my taste. We also got an order of corn chips and an order of flour chips out of curiosity. The flour chips are odd! Small little squares of really puffy, almost pastry-like friedness. Neither of us liked these enough to eat any. The salsa is nice on the tacos but not my favorite for chips. I got the little order of guacamole and this was fresh and a nice size. Wow! I am a fan of good Mexican food and this place did not disappoint me. Lots go great options, the place was clean and cute. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. We go here frequently for their green chili burritos! They are so delicious, very saucy and flavorful. It does pack some heat so just a warning. We like them to go and we can reheat them easily. I felt like I was sitting in my Mexican aunts kitchen eating good homemade Mexican food. The machaca enchiladas were amazing. The sauce!!! YUM. Beans and rice were fabulous. The salsas were not good. Heard about this family owned little restaurant and had to come try. It's super cute and when you walk in it's inviting and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I love family owned businesses because you can feel the love they have put into their food. And honestly for me, I really don't like chain restaurants so here I am trying this place out. The food was good and after placing my order it only took them at the most 10min before I was sitting down and enjoying my meal. I got the combination plate of carne asada and a red chili beef tamale. Yum yum! Let me tell you, the asada meat was so good. They give a nice serving of the guacamole and pico so it all goes well with the meal. My tamale was good, but a little dry on the end. Maybe from cooking it but nonetheless the rest of it was delicious. Now my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because it was too much to finish but very delicious. They only offer prepackaged salsa cups with their red and green salsas. Say adios to the pico de gallo. The inside tables were dirty and had not been wiped. One particular table had a used toothpick on it... disgusting The tacos were good. I ordered flautas, not taquitos. Flautas have flour tortillas, not corn. It was very disappointing. The most disturbing part of my meal was that fresh diced tomatoes were mixed with older diced tomatoes. There is no mistaking the textural difference. This may be my go to Mexican spot from now on! I had a corn tamale plate with green sauce, the shredded beef taquitos, and the Best carne asada burrito that I've ever had, not kidding. It might be the fresh homemade tortilla that does it for me. (Side note- the corn tamale has no filling, but still super good).Every bite is packed with flavor, the rice is made with green chile which was a little too spicy for my little one but the beans made up for it. We have been going here for many years. We were heartbroken when it closed and overjoyed when Espos reopened. I dont understand what has happend to not jist Espos but many Mexican places in the valley. Nonsense threats seem to have any seasoning so tge oy.flabor you get might be from salsa or cheese. I want my meets to coma from a vat of seasoning that has been simmering since tge place opened. I still love this place for a cheesy enchilada. Relleno was very tasty. I found beans a little runny, but good flavor. The chicken in the taco was bland. They do, however, offer several varieties of salsas. Fresh cooked tortilla, served on the side, was great. The highlight of my visit was the watermelon agua fresca. So delicious!!! As a latino this is one of the Mexican restaurants you can trust that has authentic Mexican food. Some places will for example make good tacos but their burritos aren't good. No, eating here the whole menu is equally delicious. The service is phenomenal because they're busy most of the time but treat everyone with care.
