I had the hardest time finding someone to do gelx but found Nails by Sean on yelp. I read all the reviews specifically for Peter and decided to make an appointment. He was so accommodating and provided me great service and instructions during the application: I know I can come to Peter whenever I see nails I want. 5 Star Service!! Due to the absolutely terrible DMV traffic, I was literally 2 hours late for my appt at my go -to nail shop in DC, so unfortunately I could only get my manicure done, and not my pedicure. So trusty yelp to the rescue! I searched for a great nail shop closer to where I would be running errands later on in the day. And Nails by Sean came highly recommended. I was walk-in, and the shop was super cute and clean, with green plant decor, and a neutral color palette. I requested a gel french pedicure..and my nail lady went right to work..,and honestly, (between you and me), this was the best pedicure Ive had in a while.. The french tips were "frenching", toes and feet were soft and moisturized, and I left a happy customer. I'll definitely return for my pedicures..and may consider other services in the future. Parking is right out front and is free. Highly recommend! read more

Had the worst pedicure of my life. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, the guy didn't even ask me what shape I wanted or if it was even okay to cut my nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've gotten pedicures my whole life and everyone ALWAYS asks first. He just started cutting my nails down to the skin with the cuticle clippers. Since eh had cuticle clippers in his hand I didn't realize what he was doing until it was too late. He rushed through the whole thing even though I had made an appointment and wasn't just a walk in. There was no 2 minute massage even. I got a gel pedicure and two of the nails already chipped within a week and a half. They all look uneven becuase my nailbeds are uneven. Usually nail techs shape them and make them look nice since polish will cover the unevenness. On top of that he left the corners of one of my nails super sharp that it caused a blister on my other toe. This was my toenail I previously had surgery on for an ingrown toenail. This is why I never get my toenails too short. Guess what, I'm dealing with an ingrown nail now on the other foot because of how short he cut my nails. Went yesterday 3-24-2026. I got a overlay and took the nail polish off the next day and my nails look horrible. I went to them before and never had this problem; however it was years ago. They charged my daughter $130. For her, myself and my grand daughters that are 2 and 4. Well my granddaughter is terrible 2 I believe they over charged her. just want a refund, or something back. Will never go back again and just do not do it. And the do cater to their constant customers read more

cute salon at first, but my gel polish fully popped off two nails within 24 hours. They repainted my nails the following day (for free), the nail tech rudely said that it was my fault because I didn't place my hand correctly under the lamp?? No apologies for the bad painting or inconvenience either. Plus even after getting them re-done, the gel polish chipped again within 24 hours on multiple nails. Within 4 days, 8/10 nails fully popped off.... read more

Can't not stop raving and recommending nails by Sean! Sean and his team (Peter and Lee) are so detailed oriented and patient especially with a mom who is scared of the nail drill. I have the freedom of just going in and letting Sean or Peter choose what do with my nails (dip nails). Lee when it comes to pedicures is so gentle when taking out an ingrown and gives the best massage! I have been going to this salon for years, like I can't even remember how long! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Sean is a joy and keeps his salon in top top condition. I stumbled on this gem after a doctor's appointment across the street last October. Seven months later, I wouldn't think about going anywhere else for my nails. They have never looked better and last perfectly for two weeks. Peter has always done beautiful gels and can do the fun designs I ask for. The salon is very relaxing and I love Sean's taste in music. I am very picky with my nails how its getting done. I have a nail tech since 4 yrs and I do not like to go anywhere else because I always regret it. I never thought I'd enjoy the whole mani/pedi experience as much as I do at Nails by Sean. From the vibe in the shop to the quality of mani/pedi it's a gem. It's clean, doesn't smell or feel stuffy at all as most places and has my favorite nail professional; Peter! He is so sweet, he puts so much care and effort into the nails but also takes his time with the massage and scrub which a huge part of the experience. If it were only about polish, I'd do it at home (not that I ever did!) but the time with Peter is a TOTAL self care routine! Peter is meticulous- he takes his time to make sure your skin and nails look perfect, and he is creative. I love coming here and plan to continue to do so for as long as I'm around here! One more thing-check out this Badass creation below. I was not into designs until Sean and Peter got me hooked. They always deliver creative ideas that make me leave smiling! Whenever I need to get my nails done I am able to easily reach out to him and get an appointment. I hate to say this, but my second visit here was a huge letdown compared to my first. Like any nail…read moresalon, the experience depends entirely on the nail tech, and unfortunately, I didn't get a good one this time. From the start, she was rude and dismissive. She cut my nails way too short, even though I asked for almond. Then she shaped them round because they were too short for almond... after she was the one who cut them that short. One of my nails had broken since my last visit, and she assured me she'd fix it. I appreciated that until she pulled out dip powder when I was getting gel. I politely mentioned, "Oh, I actually wanted gel," and she snapped back with a snarky, "I know, I have to use dip to fix it." A simple explanation would have been fine, but the attitude was unnecessary. She was also really rough the entire time. I had to ask her to be gentler, which should never have to happen at a nail salon. The whole appointment felt tense, like I was being difficult just for voicing basic preferences. To make things worse, the "fixed" nail broke the very next day, and another nail has already chipped. Gel manicures never chip this fast for me, so now I have to go somewhere else to get them properly fixed. After this experience, I won't be coming back. Too many better options out there to deal with rude service and a subpar manicure.

I chose the full moon pedicure that includes scrub, cream, paraffin wax and a 20 minute massage. It was wonderful and well needed !!! Kristy then began the nail polish and design. She took her time and even then she was quite fast. The design came out exactly as I'd asked. BEAUTIFUL!!! I was so happy and let her know. Kristy was kind and friendly throughout and so was the front desk assistant. There's an ATM inside for cash tip. I encountered the most pleasant person who was happy to give me fresh coats of new polish. This a very touchy situation. The person who provided the service did a good with my manicure and my pedicure and the cleaning of my nail bed and toes/feet. The polish is terrible. I observed my manicurist adding thinner to the polish bottle. After my nails were painted, I sat for 25 minutes to make sure my nails were well dry. Well, it lasted one day! What a waste of time. Also, they don't tell you in advance but they charge 3.25% if you don't use cash and they add it to the service price and do not show it on the receipt as a separate fee.
