Got the Huntingdon Garden room with a king, a fireplace, ceiling fan, club chairs, etc. Came with an afternoon snack and sherry by the downstairs fireplace as well as a full breakfast the next morning complete with mini muffins, juices, coffee, eggs and bacon. They even made veggie bacon for the gf! Loved the location, the staff ("Q"), and the room. Hot water was not in abundance, so be aware of that. read more

my husband and booked a last-minute trip to this bed-and-breakfast. We secured two nights. After seeing the condition of the room, cotton exchange room, we decided that we did not want to stay there a second night. The sheets and robe were soiled. the bathroom is filthy. It also has only half of a shower door so the other half of the shower door is a two dollar plastic shower curtain. And you can see all of the other conditions of the room and the pictures I provided like the worn out toilet seat and the broken bath stopper and the dirty floors and rugs. We didn't notice the condition of the room until after dinner and there was no one at the service desk in the front. Even with my pictures, they refused to refund us the night that we did not stay and charge just instead for both nights at $450 a night. When I pay $450 for a room, I'm expecting clean good conditions. read more

We were guests from 3/13/2025 - 3/16/2025, 3 nights. Reservations and check-in were extremely smooth. Scott was so pleasant checking us, giving us a tour of the inn and explaining amenities. We stayed in the "Live oak canopy" room. It was comfortable and we loved having our own private balcony. A couple of suggestions I'd make about the room: the mirror in the bathroom needs to be replaced. It's quite shabby, the frame is peeling / fraying quite badly on the bottom nearest the sink. (See pictures) The rug could use a good cleaning or just remove it altogether. Breakfast on 3/14 (Friday) was wonderful! I had the featured menu which included salmon croquettes, gouda grits, and pan roasted Brussels with sweetpotato. My husband had eggs made to order, bacon, toast, and gouda grits. Saturday's breakfast 3/15 seemed to be a bit of a struggle in the kitchen. Again I had the featured menu; chicken and waffles drizzled with a sort of spicy vinaigrette sauce, strawberry mandarin salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I asked for the sauce "on the side" since I don't care for spicy fare. Scott served me and apologized for the sauce NOT being on the side remarking "it's not that spicy". It wasn't but it was cold and the waffles weren't crispy at all. They didn't even look like they'd been toasted. Chicken was completely hidden between the waffles. (see pictures) My husband's made to order breakfast was good, but he never got his toast even after reminding/ asking for it. Sunday's breakfast 3/16 was good all around. I had the featured menu of a veggie bowl with fried egg on top. My husband had a made to order breakfast. Only complaint was no butter nor jam readily available on the table nor side board. Innkeeper, Teresa, and her staff have created a home away from home for their guests, remembering each of us by name and treating us all like family. I couldn't have asked for a more comfy and delightful place to stay. Upon check-in, we were given a tour of the facilities. Free coffee and tea are available at all times, as well as other refreshments for inexpensive costs. There is a pool with plenty of seating, towels provided. We stayed in the Magnolia suite, which has a private balcony and en-suite. In the hallway between rooms there is a communal fridge, in which guests can store items with their name and date. A delightful breakfast is served every morning and dessert provided each night. The chef, Mae, is a phenomenal cook who caters to each guests' dietary needs. If ever you find yourself visiting Savannah, Georgia, do make Azalea Inn the pillow upon which you rest your head. read more

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend in Savannah; we stayed at the Azalea Inn....if you haven't been, you're missing out on a great gem of a place+ The staff were very knowledgeable and when asked, offered suggestions for dining and places to visit. Our breakfast at the B-n-B was superb, and filling enough that we'd skip lunch and have an early dinner. The rooms and decor of the home were beautiful; a history of the home was available on the sitting room and made us appreciate the beauty of it even more! Recently I called back to inquire about the Sherry offered in the evenings and 'Q' was so kind and gave me the name.....sipping on a glass with their homemade desserts in the evening was a perfect way to end our days. Tourists Beware! My husband and I booked a room at the Azalea Inn in early October for one night. The cost was close to$400.00. Then Hurricane Helen happened, and it turned our lives upside down, because a family member and our grandchildren lost simply everything. We then had to cancel our reservation. I called the Inn twelve days prior to our arrival...we were told it is their policy that all cancellations must be fourteen days prior to arrival. I tried to explain how much this money was needed due to this catastrophic event that occurred, but they refused to accept the cancellation, and our credit card was charged the full amount. These many months later, it is still difficult for us to understand the cold hearted actions taken on the part of the owners of the Azalea Inn. Tourists Beware! Trying to be brief...my husband and I made reservations at the Inn for a one night stay in early October at the cost of close to $400.00 Hurricane Helene happened and completely destroyed everything for our immediate family and our grandchildren. This was a beautiful time at my first bed and breakfast stay. Check in was smooth and effortless and the home was arraigned so artfully, the front desk process did not at all seem clinical. The room wasn't ready of course as I arrived early but I left my bag on the living room floor as I went sightseeing. It all seemed so informal, yet completely efficient. In the days to come, I realized that this was a completely safe place to leave the bag and now have a new found love for the bed and breakfast. After a delicious, indulgent meal at Mrs. Wilkes (go eat there!!) I got back and was shown my room and its various amenities including a killer balcony, which I loved and immediately sat there for a long while. It felt good here. The wine and cheese social hour was a great way to meet the other folk who were staying here. There was always someone there to hang out with and we all enjoyed cream sherry for the first time. Breakfast was delicious. They told me they had a new chef. He might have been new to them but he certainly knew his way around a kitchen. He was also knowledgeable about some of the local sights and restaurants as well which came in handy when I was out and about. There is no choice when it comes to breakfast so make sure you inform them about your allergies and dislikes. Or if it's just a dislike, you could simply live on the edge and try something new The home and grounds were well maintained. The pool was constantly cleaned which isn't easy in the fall when there are trees everywhere. Just because I was curious, I looked behind a chair and was pleasantly delighted to find no dust. However, it's worth noting that I was having such a peaceful time here I could have found a giant cobweb with dust bunnies the size of bunnies and wouldn't have minded. The service was impeccable. I had questions about everything in the area and everyone I asked here was able to answer them for me. When there was a problem with my room, everyone including the owner worked hard to fix it. When they couldn't, they changed the room. I appreciated that greatly. I loved my stay here and I think it's utterly worth it. I saw somewhere else that a minor few believe the price didn't seem worth it but I believe they're wrong. The luxurious bed in a well appointed room along with breakfast and a host of other creature comforts made for a great time. Finally, I travel by myself a lot and It was nice to be treated as a person rather than a lonely, anonymous traveler. I appreciated it. read more

First off, we were so welcomed and felt so much at home that taking pictures totally escaped my mind. Upon arrival the chef was hosting at the front desk and greeted us like family, keeping us feeling at ease after driving in from neighboring Charleston. Adored the fact that much of the original 1836 home is still in tact after careful restoration and maintenance. Could feel the historic vibes throughout the space and we happily slept like babies. The daily breakfast was served in such a way that was eerily in tune with everyone's preferences. Being connected feels great and would highly recommend this spot to anyone. read more

Our stay here has been so relaxing. Visiting with other guests at breakfast we discovered shared backgrounds such as family roots stretching from CA to NY, common work backgrounds in the military, aviation, construction and even staffing fields. There were grandparents laughing with ( and at) new parents The food at breakfast is delicious and certainly not standard scrambled eggs, paper thin bacon and toast. Our room, the Wisteria, has a sitting and kitchen area, along with a little patio area by the pool. We would absolutely book this room again. If you want to relax around the property, this room is perfect. For security, there are some lights outside the Wisteria room at night that would keep my husband awake if he did not always travel with eyeshades. If you need total darkness to sleep, pack the eyeshades. The light that filters in that did not bother me. There is a deep jacuzzi tub that was very relaxing after walking around Savannah . Extremely frustrated and experiencing horrible customer service. We booked a visit to Savannah prior to the Delta surge. With the rates escalating we are nervous to visit...knowing being compromised. Booking.com is unable to help and Azalea is keeping a large portion of our reservation funds. Our reservation is in OCTOBER. We contacted them two weeks ago. They have plenty of time to rebook this one room. Yes, they have a cancel policy which states the amount they keep. Yes, we are asking for a "variance" to this policy in the sake of GOOD customer service. Frustrated. Of two people that have built multi million $ businesses, we are appalled with this poor customer service. Book a stay and enjoy our funding of a place we did not get to stay at. read more

I have been staying in the Wisteria Garden Cottage, a converted carriage house in the back of the property. The first day I was challenged by a little brown crab along the pool side. He scared me and made me jump in the air, subsequently twisting my ankle. Can't stop giggling about this. I've included his picture so if you stay here you can keep an eye out! This Inn is really special. What makes it so special starts with the people running the place. They are all very warm, welcoming and the owner has a fantastic, sassy sense of humor. They provide breakfast at set times and you get to eat a decadent meal (coming from someone who usually has a granola bar) and meet the other folks staying at the Inn. The garden room we are in is separate from the main house so we don't hear any of the activity going on that those in the main house will. If you stay here I would splurge and rent the carriage house we are in. It has a kitchenette, a sitting room, a wonderful bed with squishy bedding and... a monster jet tub! I am usually not a bather in hotels (showers, yes. Not a bath). But this monster jet tub lured me in and I am glad it did. The jets are insanely strong, which feels great after a day of walking around Savannah. We spent the day walking the town and saw many other places in pleasant areas to stay. I like the Azalea Inn because it is tucked in a neighborhood, just outside of the touristy areas, close to a grocery store, yet completely walkable to all parts of the city. To be honest I would probably deduct a half a star if I could. The room needs a bit of love to get up to snuff. Some fresh paint around the room and some grout line fixes in the bathroom would really make this place perfect. A touch more finishing effort and this would be a true five stars. read more

I was so looking forward to staying at the Azalea but we were extremely disappointed. It was not the beautiful, well kept, elegant Inn that was advertised. One of the blinds at our window was broken so the manager showed us " just use your hands to close the slats, which were covered in dust and did did not close all the way and there were no curtains so the light from outside streamed in all night which along with rude guests who came in past midnight and had loud conversations right outside our room and someone rattled the door to our room trying to get in , insured that we got no sleep. The place was not kept up and not clean in general but soap scum on the shower floor, mold in the corner, dust covering everything in the room and they charge you $15 a day to park in their dirt parking lot with weeds everywhere. We were so unhappy we left before breakfast, manager not on site to speak to but emailed them and have received no response. We love Savanah and have stayed at some lovely B&B's but this one I cannot recommend. read more

Just recently returned from a trip and I must say that I was extremely happy with every single aspect of my stay! I was immediately greeted by the very welcoming and friendly Teresa, who quickly showed me to my room. (The Huntingdon Garden). The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and I would be remiss if I didn't give special props for the ultra luxurious sheets! Talk about a heavenly experience! Each morning the breakfast was truly a culinary treat, including the 5 star service! The coffee was some of the best I have had in a long time, served in beautiful pottery type mugs! I am a true Southern Belle, who absolutely adored the fact that breakfast and evening dessert was served on fine china. Every attention to detail was given, including the delightful desserts left for us each night as we came back from dinner, and those ultra romantic moonlight walks through the gorgeous parks. Beautifully wrapped with our names on top, which makes you feel pretty special! The pool and garden area was such a lovely spot where relaxation is sure to follow. We stayed in the Gentleman's suite, you should know it is much smaller than depicted on their website pic. It is also located immediately adjacent to the front door (maybe 5' away) and dining/kitchen area. If you are a light sleeper be prepared to wake up when a cook gets in and food starts smelling (about 6am). Their breakfast was so-so. Bedding was excellent. They sell you their sheets, and we bought a set (we don't typically do that). It is located in the best area in historic district. I would not recommend staying on or around Bay street, what a dump. Azalea is right next to the Forsyth Park and the Monterey square, the best and most beautiful areas in Savannah. We highly recommend the place. read more

We loved our weekend at the Azalea Inn. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. The backyard pool area was like an oasis. We stayed in the Magnolia room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. While the room itself was small, the large balcony made up for that. Next time we would try the Live Oak Canopy room next door with the same view and nice balcony, although it runs about $40 to $50 more a night. The larger size might make it worthwhile. Next time we would not order breakfast in bed. It was a waste of $40 for us. We woke at 7:00 am so getting breakfast brought up at 8:40 am was not what we had hoped. It was nothing more special than the delicious breakfast served downstairs. We enjoyed breakfast with other guests more the previous morning. Honeymooners might enjoy this option more. We LOVED Savannah! I suggest watching the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (with Kevin Spacey) before you come. Take a tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery. Understanding some of the people and history makes the city so interesting. read more

My first visit to the Azalea Inn and Gardens was Labor Day weekend 2009 when my sister and 3 Wonderful friends surprised me for a getaway weekend before I got married... we were there 3 nights.. Thursday-Saturday nite.. Teresa and her staff were SO friendly.. made us feel at home from the minute we walked in.. Yes the free parking is definitely a bonus.. I stayed at first in the Live Oak Room.. HIGHLY recommended (King Room) The Bathroom is awesome! The Breakfasts were lovely..very different every morning with a full pot of coffee ready for us when we awoke! Yes Joey the house Yorkie is a cutie pie (and I'm not a dog person by nature) Then, 3 weeks later.. my now husband and I stopped on over to Savannah on our 'honeymoon'. We of course stayed there again, this time in the Carriage house on the 2nd floor. It was just a queen but very lovely.. The bathroom awesome again.. (I love cool bathrooms) I got a glimpse of the Suite on the first floor of the Carriage house.. If you are on your honeymoon DEFINITELY request the first floor of the Carriage House.. GORGEOUS.. Hot Tub... huge.. very private... All in all a Wonderful experience - I will definitely be returning when I visit Savannah again!!! read more

The Azeala was quick to welcome us and offer personal suggestions from Mike and Teresa that ensured we got the most out of our Savannah get away. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a glass of Miss Ebony's sweet tea, which was utterly divine. Be sure to ask about the murals in the formal dining room. It was one of the many unique treasures we uncovered during our stay. Shrimp and grits made with whole cream were one of the many treats we enjoyed. The welcoming spirit from all you encounter to the beautiful details in everything made this stay wonderful. The snacks and breakfast provided we're scrumptious. The staff gets five stars, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and late snack also five stars, ask for the explanation of the mural local art students. Excellent and a lot of fun in that painting. Grounds are 4/5 stars as this is building that has been around since 1889, it has its flaws though they are acceptable. A few thing that aren't, we stayed in the Cotton Exchange Suite and we're told that it was the best room in the house, which by price it should be.upon entering, everything looked like the pictures. Great, comfortable King bed, large TV on the wall, large two person jacuzzi tub, fire place and lounge couch. What you can't see is the shower. Seems one side of the sliding doors broke and the have a Motel 6 shower curtain in its place that allows water to get all over the floor. The shower head is a $20 Walmart special. The water pressure is low in the shower and although it took several minutes to heat up, it's hard to turn the dial to the sweet spot of find your comfortable water temperature. The toilet is and old one that is low and about 27" so is a long way down and ever second or third flush did not fill up with water. I had to take off the lid and fix it each time it broke. Although I reported that problem at 900am, it wasn't fixed that day. The jacuzzi tub is powerful and only one speed as most are, we filled it just to the line over the jets and it was so powerful the water spilled out and we had to use towels to clean up. When we did that, we found the towels black from dirty floors. The chandelier over the hot tub was also very dusty. The two night stands were both water stained. Overall cleanliness was a 3, if you are really picky maybe a two. You maybe asking why I'm giving this place a 4, well it's in a great location, the flaws are just that, flaws. I don't recommend this particular room until major repairs and furniture replacements are made. It's overpriced for what needs to be done. I'd stay in one of the other rooms though because of the location, food, staff and history associated with this house. Hopefully the owners will take the necessary steps to bring this room up to standard. read more

Very comfy bedding and your own kitchen and sitting area. They serve you breakfast and its wonderful. Accommodations were made for my nut allergy, and the food was phenomenal (photos attached). If I could, I would give this place 4.5 stars. We stayed here from the 30th of December through January 2, 2009-2010 in the Gentleman's Parlor. Our room was small, but very sweet and romantic. There's a working fireplace, which we used all the time. The only negative things I would say about this room is that there is a serious lack of closet and drawer space, and since the porch is right off this room and across the hall from the sitting room, there's a lot of noise at times. You can always hear people at breakfast, talking in the sitting room, hanging out on the porch, etc. I was always worried about speaking too loudly inside our room. Other than that, our visit was amazing. The breakfasts were always hearty and extremely creative...way beyond the usual eggs and bacon fare at some other places. Wine and cheese at 5pm was always fun. They always laid out a spread of different crackers, a few different cheeses, and then an additional items. Chicken herb dip, brie, walnut spread, etc were some of these. We really enjoyed talking to other guests at these gatherings. Everyone was always very nice and lots of fun to talk to. When we came home every evening, there was a dessert in the dining room for us to take to our room. They were always delicious! I could definitely get used to people leaving me fresh-baked dessert. The staff and Theresa were always helpful and sweet. They were always willing to make reservations or any recommendations for tours and restaurants. This is a romantic B&B in the Forsyth Park area. It is about a 20 minute walk to the river. In October we paid a bit over 200.00 for a room. It was very cozy and had a deck that overlooked the pool. If you stay in the Sweet Olive be forewarned that the bathroom is very small and the bed is noisy. With your room comes a wine and cheese happy hour and breakfast. Another plus is the parking is included, unlike most of the hotels in the area. The place is well appointed and look for some surprises in the murals on the dining room walls. A small terrier named Joey will also be there to great you and look sad until you give him a taste of what you are eating. read more

Let me just put the bottom line up top... Stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. My wife and I decided to get married in Savannah and did a lot of research before choosing. We settled on the Azalea Inn and what a great choice it was! We were greeted upon check-in by Kolin. He and Kimberly were the two employees that we had daily interaction with. Both of them are the best! Courteous, knowledgeable and willing to do anything within their power to make our stay pleasant. We had a total of 8 people staying there for our wedding and each of us were equally impressed. Everything was taken care of for the wedding from the flowers to the officiant. Kolin even baked our wedding cake! Each morning, we had a delicious breakfast (Kimberly is a chef and Kolin is a pastry chef). In the late afternoon, there was complimentary wine and cheese/crackers. Later on in the evening, there was a freshly baked pastry which was equally delicious. The entire inn is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. I loved staying here. The Azalea Inn staff was extremely accommodating. We stayed two nights in the Garden Cottage suite. Christina and Shannon made my husband, my service dog and me feel so very welcome and pampered. I have Celiac disease, and thus the need for my service dog who sniffs out gluten and gluten-contaminated foods for me. Having made them aware of my condition, Shannon took steps to prepare my breakfast sans gluten. She easily could have made me a gluten-free breakfast different from the breakfast being served to the other guests. But she made the effort to make me the same breakfast, without gluten, so that I didn't feel isolated from others or jealous of what they were eating. This is the socially isolating aspect of having a bad food allergy that you likely wouldn't know unless you suffer from one yourself. The breakfasts were visually beautiful, filling, and delicious. Both my husband, who ate the normal meals, and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both days. Shannon said that they try their best to accommodate a wide array of dietary restrictions and make a point to have creative substitutes that are up to the same standard as their regular menu. The first breakfast included a very fluffy omelet along with cheese grits and a non-gluten free muffin. Both the omelet and grits were delicious. Shannon made a point to not use flour in my omelet, like she used in the others. The second day she made a pumpkin pie flavored smoothie that was more like a mousse in texture. We also had strawberry French toast souffle and bacon. I got nervous when I saw the menu, but even though mine looked just as decadent as the others, she assured me that mine was made from tapioca flour instead. My gluten-sniffing service dog indicated that my husband's dish had gluten in it, but gave the all clear for mine. During the evening shift, Christina attended to our every whim. She made a point of leaving out gluten free crackers just for me during the evening wine and cheese social. She was so personable, it was like meeting up with an old college roommate. After hearing about a disappointing dinner in town, she made it her personal mission to find a restaurant willing to make fried green tomatoes without flour for me. Christina called four or five different restaurants on my behalf, without my even asking. well after her shift ended, These are just my personal stories of the care taken by Azalea Inn staff to make their guests feel welcome. The grounds are very pretty, and I wish we had had more time to spend just enjoying this bed and breakfast in addition to Savannah. I really enjoyed how the inn smelled of wood and found myself wanting to breathe in the history. They have a tiny little, yet elegant pool in the courtyard. Our Garden Cottage suite was quite nice, and yes you will be tempted to buy the super soft sheets they use for their beds. You'll appreciate these sheets after a long day wandering among the squares in historic Savannah. read more

Love this hotel so much. My husband and I stay here every time we come to Savannah. Staff is wonderful, rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is always delicious. The walls could be thicker lol, but it is a historic home after all. Way more charming than a big box hotel with way more character than the modern hotels in Savannah. As soon as we walked in Joey welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We were shown around the beautiful inn and taken to our room (Magnolia) where a basket of goodies and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us. It couldn't have been better. We were on the back of the house and had a nice little balcony where we could sit out, look over the backyard and pool, enjoy the breeze and have some wine. The inn was nestled in a quiet corner of the Forsyth Park area, and was the perfect getaway from our everyday lives in Baltimore. Breakfast. Was. Phenomenal! Theresa and her staff prepared a delicious spread both mornings we were there that coated our palettes for the rest that Savannah had to offer. She was the perfect hostess! When we returned in the evening, we found wine and hors oeuvres waiting... even better, a tasty dessert was put out each night for the late-night snackers. I can't wait to come back! read more
