The Marshall House has everything you could want for a trip to Savannah!! You couldn't ask for a better location. The Marshall House is located directly on Broughton St near shopping and restaurants, and it's within walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see! You will barely need a rental car for your trip. Despite being on the main road, I found the hotel to be pretty quiet! The historic inn is beautifully restored. Each room is unique. If you're lucky enough to get a front-facing room on the second floor, you have access to the shared balcony overlooking the street. My room was cozy and comfortable! There are cozy bathrobes in each room. The Marshall House has some unique amenities. They provide bottled water (both cold and room temperature) by the main desk for hotel guests! So great during the summer heat. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese reception every evening in the Library with entertainment (musicians, lectures, trivia, etc.) so make sure to include that in your trip itinerary! Breakfast is also included with the price of the room. Breakfast is served in the atrium off the library. You are seated by the wonderful staff, and then you check off/circle your order on the menu they provide. Breakfast comes off of a buffet, so it's a little odd not to just help yourself, but service is super quick! The Marshall House is in the running for most haunted hotel in the country, but I didn't have any ghost encounters while I was there unfortunately. It was fun to hear the stories of other guests and to learn more about the history of the hotel! I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the perfect walkable location!

The Marshall house is really a nice hotel. They know how to take care of you. From the pleasant people that work there to the morning breakfast to nightly wine and entertainment hour each day Besides being haunted if you are into the paranormal. They definitely take care of you there at the Marshall house. Next stay will be at Marshall house when we return to savannah And getting a balcony room again. That is always a plus.

I stayed here because it's an old civil war hospital and reportedly super haunted. I had no inklings of hauntings, but it was a fun one time stay! I stayed in the Mary Marshall Suite, which was spacious. The bed was comfortable. I loved soaking in the old claw foot tub and the shower had nice pressure. It was clean and well appointed. I loved the accessible balcony (it's shared, but super long and plenty of space, and I had my own little corner). It was WONDERFUL to drink my champagne (I chose the champagne welcome for 37.50, which was a good deal). However, it's important to realize you can only access the balcony through a ladder out the window, and it can be really hard on the knees. Older people or disabled people wouldn't be able to enjoy it probably. I'm able bodied and it was still hard on my knees. The room cost was in the 200s, but by the time the amenity fee and all the taxes were added on, it was over 400. I was pretty shocked. But you do get a social hour and live entertainment. All the free bottled water you need. The staff were reserved, but professional. I wish they had a later checkout than noon (noon is their late checkout and it's first come, first serve, otherwise it's 11 AM). But overall, very fun and unique stay, even if I didn't have any hostly encounters.

WONDERFUL! Despite being an old hotel, it is very well appointed and was the cleanest hotel and room we have stayed in. There wasn't a speck of dust or 1 hair anywhere in the room. The room was lovely and I especially liked the original wood floors throughout. The folks at the front desk were also wonderful. I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and they were brought up right away, unlike all other hotels where we have stayed who seem to take hours to fulfill requests like this one. As far as hauntings go, the only thing we experienced was a light knocking within the room, and it was just one time. Haunting or not, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Savannah.

Our recent stay at The Marshall House Hotel on Broughton Street was truly unforgettable. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and completely taken care of. The staff were so kind and attentive--always ready with a smile or a great recommendation for local restaurants and things to see around Savannah. The building itself is full of history and charm, with beautiful original details that make you feel like you're part of the city's story. It was also impeccably decorated for Halloween. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with elegant touches that made it feel special. We especially loved sitting out on the balcony overlooking Broughton Street--it was the perfect spot to enjoy the morning air before starting the day. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise--it's included in your stay and absolutely delicious. There was a great Southern selection of goodies and the service was attentive & prompt. Each evening they offer wine, cheese/crackers with a story teller in the beautiful drawing room/ lobby area . A huge surprise.. Ghost stories & wine.. What a treat The location couldn't be better--you can walk to all the shops, squares, and restaurants right from the front door. In the evenings, we loved coming back to unwind and enjoy the quiet charm of the hotel. The Marshall House truly captures what makes Savannah special: history, hospitality, and heart. We can't wait to return

I love a spooky situation and booked the Marshall because it was supposed to be one of the most haunted in Savannah. Slanted floors, old portraits, and noises I couldn't quite place, it (sort of) delivered lol. The bed was softer than the Drayton's, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are small, historic, full of charm, and the wood floors reminded me of growing up in New Orleans. The location cannot be beat. It is right across from Common Restaurant and just steps from everything else you could want. We adored our stay here.

Gorgeous historic hotel. It is definitely haunted, however. At the risk of sounding crazy, I tend to be very sensitive to energies, and have felt before like places have spirits present. Marshall House is next level though- when I first stepped foot inside, I actually thought, oh no what have I done (staying here). The energy was so intense I was a little freaked out, and even my skeptical husband could feel it. One night, the faucet turned on in our bathroom by itself in the middle of the night and my husband had to get up to turn it off. We didn't visually see anything, but at the risk of sounding real real crazy, one of the days we were sitting in the lobby sitting room enjoying happy hour when my husband tells me my face is bleeding. Out of no where I had a spontaneous scratch on the side of my face that was starting to bleed. Take that for what you will- it certainly was bizarre, especially because I didn't particularly feel like the energy was negative. All that being said, the hotels so beautiful and full of history, I might return if i am ever in the South again.

You cannot beat the location of The Marshall House. Staying on Broughton street allows you to easily walk to many shops, restaurants and points of interest in historic Savannah. Tell your sweet tooth to beware as you'll be right across the street from Byrd's famous cookies and a block down from Leopold's Ice Cream. Conveniently enough, you're also a very short stroll from where many walking tours/ghost tours start. Speaking of, The Marshall House is known to be haunted. We booked not knowing. While we had some issues with our room door not opening, we did not experience any hauntings otherwise. Once we spoke with the front desk, they explained the room doors are easier to open if you turn the handle up not down, that solved it! If you're looking for something that feels historic but well-maintained, The Marshall House is a wonderful option. The rooms are small, but they are clean and well-appointed. My favorite perk was the cold, bottled water in the lobby. It was so nice to have after lengthy hot walks in Savannah. A pretty good breakfast is also included in the lovely atrium off the lobby. Valet parking is not included but you can get a discount if you book direct through the hotel's website (avoid using a third party).

I was visiting Savannah for the New Year's Eve and New Year. This is one of the beautiful historic buildings in Savannah. We didn't stay here but I wanted to check out the building. The staff is super nice and they told me that the ground floor of the hotel is open for visitors to take a look. From whatever I have seen, it's gorgeous and well maintained. Hoping to come here and stay in the future.

Amazing hotel, excellent location in Savannah. This place was walking distance to almost every place we wanted to go, including the riverwalk and many restaurants and shops. The room had a window that opened to the balcony - wonderful views and people watching! Breakfast was included and made to order. The room itself was nice - really seemed like you were in a large house, and the bathroom had a claw foot bathtub which was pretty fun. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Savannah for a brief stay!

We were excited to try this vintage hotel. Rather than vintage, I would use the term tired. Uneven floors and worn out rooms.

Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. I asked one of the male staff about it in the front desk and they said that there was nothing they can do and that the elevators will be both back up at 8:30 AM. We were pleased with room placement with balcony in furthest east Bldg (3Muses). We were advised water-facing rooms can be noisy. On that note, by the third and final night, Friday, this past weekend, we learned that the cobblestone street outside was quite noisy as well. Fortunately, on weekend, just after midnight, revelry noise level moves down from the billiard Halls across from our room. (Ear plugs were furnished in the room :-) Even so, we enjoyed the balcony for the mornings and pre-dinner hour: it was ambience into our room as we were getting ready for our various comings/goings. The medium-ish sized pool featured brrrrr water; not yet nuked by summer's power! But it was enjoyable for a refresh. It got unbelievably crowded on Friday afternoon, so glad we generally came earlier in the day. Fortunately my work Conference: buffet style food supplied by JW was above-average, 4* food for Conference food (3* if judged on its own merit). Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

I would think that quiet hours for the pool would be 9 PM, but apparently they aren't. I believe they are 10 PM. There was a group of what appeared to be teenagers screaming nonstop for about three hours straight. I don't know, if I was staff at a hotel, I would probably tell them to keep it down after 8 PM, but that's just me. It sounds like the rooms on the other side of the hotel are really noisy as well, so I guess moving and wouldn't have done much. The valet took a really long time in the morning. I wouldn't have minded that if they would have told us in the beginning, but when you check in, they tell you to give them five minutes to retrieve your vehicle. It took the guy 20 minutes to respond to my request (I was first in the queue) and I had to go walk down and grab the car myself because I needed to leave immediately. It sounds like he was managing two properties, so not his fault. When not knowing where the valet was, the front desk wasn't helpful. She kind of dismissed the issue. She did end up calling him, but she didn't act like she cared about our situation at all in the beginning. It actually prompted us to take action and another gentleman waiting for his car went and looked in the valet garage to see if somebody was even there because he was having the same issues. After staying here, it's clear nothing has actually changed, which is disappointing. I was on the 5th floor facing Bay Street, which turns out to be a major truck route near the interstate. The AC unit was loud, so I turned it off since it was cool outside. That's when the real issue became obvious. There's a traffic light right by the hotel, so trucks constantly stop, idle, and then accelerate again. The noise was incredibly loud, to the point where it felt like I was standing right on the sidewalk. Sleeping was difficult. It also made me wonder about room assignments. If this has been a known issue for years, you'd think they'd avoid placing guests with status in those rooms. A quieter-facing room would have made a big difference. There were a few other issues: * Couldn't access the pool or jacuzzi with the digital key (only the gym worked) * The jacuzzi itself looked worn and in need of refinishing * No complimentary water in the room or lobby, which is surprising given the Savannah heat (though there were cookies and coffee downstairs) * Toilet seat was oddly shaped and uncomfortable * Bedside lamp outlets were loose and didn't hold a charger securely * The clock on the nightstand was extremely bright at night with no way to dim it On the positive side, the lobby has a nice fireplace, and I appreciated the bathroom nightlight. All the staff I encountered seemed very young, under 30, which made me wonder if most roles here are entry-level. I couldn't help but notice a consistent pattern in who was working which positions, while visiting the south. Overall, the biggest issue is the noise and the lack of real action on something that's been raised repeatedly over the years.

Hotel bardo was phenomenal and I would stay here every time I come back to Savannah!…read more Location: wonderful! It is just off of Forsyth park and incredibly walkable. I traveled with my grandfather and they have a complimentary car that took us to the museum of art on a hot day. Rooms: the rooms are gorgeously designed and spacious. Fully stocked mini bar and my view overlooked the pool. Service: The hotel service is wonderful. The restaurants get a lot of local traffic which means the service can get slow. The food is exceptional. The concierge is helpful.

But since then, it seems like no one's paid attention to the details that actually make a stay feel 5-star. We stayed just one night and noticed several things that made the experience feel less than premium: * Curtain was literally held together with paper clips * Bathroom sink barely drained * No "do not disturb" hanger for the door, had to request one * Vacuuming started in the hallway at 7:15am * Gym had beautiful treadmills with screens and free earbuds -- but the internet was down, so none of t worked To their credit, they did offer to send someone to fix the sink... but on a one-night stay, why would I want to spend part of it with someone working on the pipes in my bathroom? That's something that should be checked before a guest ever walks into the room. There were some nice touches: a complimentary car service, wooden room keys, a convenient texting system, and solid amenities (though we didn't use many of them). That said, I couldn't help but feel like we were placed in a neglected room -- possibly because the stay was part of an Amex Platinum perk. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. Hotel Bardo, unfortunately, missed that mark.
