I reached out to Mr Stucco Man to complete a fairly minor project at my home. I had stucco chipping underneath the bottom of the house and was worried water would be getting into places it shouldn't. Victor came out and took his time explaining things to me. He showed me how things were, were supposed to be, and assured me, everything was fine. I brought him there to pay him to do a job. He was honest, kind, and professional and didn't try to scam me to make a quick buck. I appreciate that more than I can explain. Deleted an exterior door. Got a good quote for the exterior work but the contact was saying they would leave the door frame in place. I knew that wouldn't work but figured it was difficult to communicate about it over the phone. figured I would just wait until the day of to discuss further. Quote for the drywall patch was almost the same price so I passed but thought it was a missed opportunity for both. Two guys showed, dad and son, polite, respectful, and on time. Dad removed the security door and door, while son went to grab supplies. After the door was out, it was obvious the frame would have to go too, or the Stucco wouldn't sit slush against the existing surround. The guys on site did the right thing explaining that they had to or they could set the OSB against the framing to have enough room to get the rest of the patch material in. I was happy with the end result. The original contact reached out after I made payment via Zelle to ask if I had the guys do additional work. Felt a little off but knowing I wasn't seeking anything additional, just the exterior work done properly I stood affirmed that only the exterior work was completed. I called this company many times. I mean many many times because I was told they were really good. I have not received a call back from them. The only time someone picked up the phone and answered was approximately two weeks ago and the lady on the phone said she will text me back right away. Well, no text whatsoever. I then tried to contact them through their website. That's is not working either. I didn't know I was suppose to chase them in order to hire them. Apparently that's the case. Update to the Stucco review I left a month ago. On March 1, 2023, I notified Hector that after rain, I was still having water seep in my slider on my upper level of my house in the exact same spots on that fluster as before and in fact, now also had water seeping in on my lower slider, which was not happening before he worked on my house. I reminded him that before I agreed for him to do my home and before I paid him paid him thousands of dollars, he guaranteed me that after he was done with his stucco repair on my home, I would have no more leaking. I asked how he was going to rectify the problem and uphold his five year warranty on my job. I really never got a straight answer from him. He said he was leaving town for a couple weeks and would get back to me after he returned. That was now almost a month ago and all of my text messages to Hector have gone on answered. Please save yourself thousands of dollars and headaches and don't hire Hector to do your stucco work. Unfortunately, it's turned out to be a nightmare for me due to his unprofessionalism, lack of follow through and shoddy work. I'm now going to have to hire another company to fix what he did not repair and fix the damage he did to my stucco causing water leakage now my lower slider. read more

I hired Hector and his crew at the beginning of 2022 to repair poor quality stucco work performed by a painting contractor. Below are some things that stood out about Hector and his crew: When Hector shows up to do a quote at your house, he will try to expand the scope of work. Make sure that you reign him in if the area doesn't need to be repaired. Not everything they redo comes out better than it was before. It's not that they do bad work, it's just that as a contractor that specializes in stucco, I would think they would have more attention to detail when matching the style of their work to a pattern that may already exist on the building. Some areas came out relatively well and some did not come out as well. I suspect the quality of some of the materials they use are questionable. About a month after they finished the repairs around my house, about 50% were cracked and had to be redone. To their credit, they came out and redid them and were nice enough about it but, there were issues with style matching. On one occasion, I pressed Hector for his opinion on whether one particular repair area would blend after painting. He got very defensive and spun off into a mini rant about how busy they were etc. When I did not back down, he conceded that it needed to be redone. They are expensive. I generally don't mind paying top dollar for high quality work but when I'm paying top dollar for subpar work then it's an issue. All in all it was not a bad experience but I would say that for what they charge, I would expect them to be much more adept at knowing what needs to be done to effectively blend stucco repairs. For these reasons, I won't be using them again. read more

He promised to deliver quality work with a Santa Barbara finish but what little has been finished (perhaps a 1/3) of the project has not been performed to the finish on the contract. What's more, he has left his garbage in my house (my entire driveway) for two weeks refusing to pick it up and forcing me to dispose of it myself (obviously at a cost). From the inception we have agreed that he would deliver a finished product before his trip which is April 22. What's more, he has demanded payments ahead of time. The contract states first installment would be 10% of the total project however, we were asked to pay a total of $23,648 on the first day (which is a misdameanor) . Subsequently, I got asked again by Hector to pay 50% of the remaining installment which would've been the date of completion , which he claimed was 7000. In fear of retaliation and with the threat of not finishing the job looming over us we paid $4,300. We overpaid to prevent the situation we are in now and here are. Can't recommend Mr Stucco Man enough! We had a relatively small job in which we built a wall and we asked them to just stucco it and match the color to the house. Although they are a little backed up thanks to covid they came out gave us a quote and completed the job within a few weeks. We are so happy with the final results! I am giving this company 5 stars not because everything went perfectly- it did not because that's life. But it was Hector's (co-owner) professional and honest response to inevitable issues which arose that made the experience worth having. He's truly a good man. I'm so very happy we chose Mr Stucco Man, with the first call from Nick, to the last from Hector it was a pleasure. The owners are genuinely involved, which means the business will thrive. I must mention Mario and Ricky. These two men worked unsupervised, they were on time, and even when being pounded by the sun they worked relentlessly to get the job done; always with a smile. It was refreshing to see that much dedication to ones job.... My house looks fabulous! We had new construction windows and doors installed all around which meant the old stucco had to be cut away from all 17 windows and 2 sliding doors...ugh! ‍ It was a mess (see pic)! We shopped around and found several other businesses and received quotes. But it was Andy (the estimator) that sold me because he begin to educate me about the process and it wasn't condescending. It was matter-of-fact which I enjoyed. He told me if the other companies did not mention the fact that there should be a 2-2 1/2inch gap between the house and the foundation for weep screed then be wary. I listened, did my research and asked the other companies...they said nothing, I had to bring it to their attention. Really?!?! Onward...the end result was beautiful! Ok, there was a wait and problem with Hector finding a stucco color match for the new siding color we chose (which is gorgeous!). This wasn't his fault because I learned it's easier to match paint colors to stucco colors than vice versa, therefore we had it painted. Initially Mr. Stucco Man did not deliver a flat stucco surface, "tie-ins" and superior workmanship as promised in the proposal and contract. I had to have them come back to rework the stucco. The stucco repair was done because it was cracking and flaking along the foundation of my house. After removal of the stucco, I noticed that there was significant damage, very obvious, to the wood structure caused by water leaking from some of the copper pipes. Mr. Stucco Man seemed more interested in completing the stucco repair and collecting their progress payments, made no mention or showed any regard relative to the damage. As it turned out some of the wood structure and copper water pipes had to be replaced, which was very expensive, my insurance company would not pay for the damage, out of pocket expense. If I had not done the repairs to the damage, it could have been catastrophic. Wouldn't It seem that a reputable company would have brought the damage to my attention? read more

This company was easy to work with and they worked incredibly hard. From the beginning, Andy, from Mr. Stucco Man, was very friendly when I met him. He gave me a reasonable quote and explained why their service was above and beyond the competitors. After meeting with several companies, I chose Andy. They fit me into their schedule and started right away. The week they were there it was over 110 degrees and they worked tirelessly. They did a great job matching the stucco on the house but unfortunately it was a different color than the retaining wall. When I found a couple of spots they missed, they had no problem coming back out and fixing it. The stucco looks great and if I could change anything, I just wish I had hired them sooner. Prior to contacting Nick @ Mr. Stucco Man I had 2 other local companies come out and quote me for a complete sandblast & re-stucco after they took a look at my house briefly and dropped the quote on my table. Needless to say I was underwhelmed. I submitted an inquiry on Mr. Stucco Man's website and was contacted THE SAME DAY by Nick to setup a good day for us to meet and for him to look over my house and provide a quote. Nick showed up early, was very personable, and was open to any and all questions that I had surrounding different aspects of the job. After his visit I had a very thorough understanding of what would be required to bring my house exterior to the level I had envisioned. What struck me the most was that Nick had already devised a solution for the stucco deterioration and crack repair that would be required in order to give him a good foundation to work from. Once we agreed to have him start I met his staff who also showed up early for their first day of work. I primarily interfaced with Hector Jr. who was amazing to work with. I checked in with him before leaving for work, when I came home from lunch, and he also spoke to my wife as she arrived home from work while they were still at the house. Not only this but Nick routinely checked in with me to make sure that I was happy with the progress as well as the outcome. We had the entire house hand scraped, all cracks addressed by having them ground back 3/8ths of an inch and filled appropriately, then a re-color coat done once the existing stucco was structurally sound. I could not be more happy with the job that Mr. Stucco Man's team did as they made my house look like new construction.
