Half pepperoni and basil and half pepperoni and sausage well done

after leaving another restaurant just next door, Azars saved the day. the pizza was made hot and how ever you like it. I asked for well done and they did. the staff was so nice and was urgent to take care of us.

Not great, not terrible, average. The pizza is hot and fresh. They make it when you place your order. It takes about 15 minutes for your order. We ordered an individual and a medium pizza. The pizza crush was very doughy and chewy. There was no crispness to it. (Both individual and medium pizza) The pizza sauce itself was pretty tasty. One of our pizzas had extra cheese (did not order) and the other pizza had barely any cheese. It's better than amusement park pizza, but it is not the greatest. I will say, I blew my diet to eat here, and I am pretty disappointed. Will I return? Not likely. Would I recommend it? If there are no other options and you're starving. It is not badly priced.

The only reason this place did not get a 1 Star is because the team was nice, polite and friendly. BUT the food definitely deserved a 1 star, here's why: The price per slice is $5.10 and each additional price is extra (up to 3 toppings). Although my piece was a bit over cooked, so the crust was dry, hard and dehydrated (like a cracker) and the sauce was almost fully dried up too. That might seem like a cooking error BUT I believe that perhaps the dough is pre-made and that is why it's not coming out correctly as opposed to fresh or in-house made dough. I would compare the Pizza to worse than concession stand food. Even think about this, an entire Little Cesar's pizza is about the price of one slice here and I would pick Little Cesar's over this everytime.

Went to Azar's for a late lunch early dinner cause i was craving pizza. Got a small pepperoni with sausage and onion. I was wanting a Antipasto salad and what they had was just as good. The ranch dressing's is awesome and so was the pizza except I couldn't taste the sausage on it because it had a bland no flavor taste. I like my sausage spicy. The service here was very friendly. It is a bit pricey though i spent $30.00 for a pizza, big salad and a large ice tea.

Azar's has the BEST PIZZA in California from Northern, Central and Southern California. Love coming here and have been coming back for years. Love that it's a small family owned business and they take time and care into their food. Love their quality but also the team is great too! A MUST TRY whenever in Balboa Island.

My wife loves their pizza, I think it's just so-so. I really like their chicken parm sandwich, their lasagna and their salads. We eat there 4-6 times a year, mostly in the summer.

Cheese, flavor, toppings were good, but the crust is kinda dry and hard. "like a cracker" is what someone said. the guy working was very friendly. prices are pretty fair, especially for the location

This place was a great choice after a bike ride around the island good food excellent service and the best pizza I ever had. Oscar was awesome at offering us extra ice water...keeping the place clean and serving piping hot slices.

I had the most delicious pizza there yesterday. Two thumbs up for Azar's Pizza in Balboa Island. Their pizza is so crispy and their cook is from Italy but I didn't have a pizza as delicious as this in Italy so Yes, I am recommending this business . Thanks for the good food and memory.

HONEST REVIEW! Was riding our rental bike and strolled by this place! If you have some time to kill definitely stop by! Food is a good price and can feel a good amount of people! Me and my girl stopped by and were perfectly full! The customer service was top ten! Worth the stop! Won't be disappointed!!

Definitely over charging customers with mediocre pizza and pasta. I ordered fettucine alfredo and a 12inch Maui style pizza. the total came out $28... this better be good... Once I had the dishes, the pasta was bland and it was super basic. It just had the pasta and base sauce.. nothing special.. just warm.. I tried the 12 inch Maui, which they charged me $18... It was undercooked! hams were not cooked! over stuffed by cheese, which killed the flavor. Not impressed and not coming back. Only reason why it wasn't a 1 star? The male employee was nice and kind enough to serve our food.. customer service was 4 stars... Food quality and price was 1 star... Beware!!

When we arrived, there was a 45-minute wait, but it was absolutely worth it. While everyone was waiting outside, the staff came around with complimentary pasta and garlic bread for people in line. It was such a thoughtful touch, and my son loved it. The restaurant itself has a traditional, old-school Italian family restaurant feel. It's not fancy, but the food completely exceeded our expectations. We ordered the Margherita pizza, calzone, and Caprese salad, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. What impressed me the most was the service. Every staff member we met was genuinely warm and friendly. While I was taking photos of the restaurant, several staff members smiled, waved, and happily interacted with us. Those little moments made us feel so welcome. The value here is incredible. Great food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and excellent service. It's also a wonderful place for families. They have a kids' menu, and after dinner my son got to pick a toy from their treasure box. We were even given warm chocolate chip cookies to take home after we paid. This was one of the best meals we had in Newport Beach, and we're already planning to visit another Mama D's location. Highly recommended!

We called ahead of time to let the restaurant know of the party number change and the hostess noted it. When we arrived at the hostess stand, both hostesses did not acknowledge or greet us. When they finally acknowledged us (they were gossiping the entire time), they were rude, short, and bothered. They told us to wait a minute while they set up the table; the hostess came back and asked if it was 5. We told her we called and changed to 3 and she did not know what we were talking about. Therefore they did not have a table ready for us inside and stuck us outside. We complied and accepted the outdoor table. Next, the worker who was bringing out the food was extremely rude. We were working on our first appetizer and she said "are you done with that or not?" We put the last of it on our plates and said she could take it. She rolled her eyes at us and grabbed the plate. While grabbing it, her arms rubbed my wine glass and where I sip from. She looked at me, made a bothered face, and walked away. I have never been to a restaurant with such rude service. We also had an unfortunate circumstance while dining and one of our party members needed to go to the Urgent Care. She was having extreme chest pain and shortness of breath. We asked the staff to bring to go boxes and the check due to this emergency. They moved very slowly and did not give a care in the world despite our urgency. We will not be dining here again. I hope they train their staff on manners, service, and hospitality. The two stars are for the apps we were able to try: artichoke and eggplant. Our actual server also decent but still lacked a sense of urgency. It is obviously not the staffs fault that we were in that situation, but they treated us like they couldn't wait to get us out to serve the next table.
