This place had the best looking pizza during my search of pizza in the city. After having an evening out, we found parking and walked a short way to 22nd street. It's a small place, but they had seating for us. I ordered a large pizza and a small Caesar salad for me and my partner to enjoy. The salad was damn good. I thought there was an option to add chicken but I guess I was wrong this time. The pizza was perfection, not near perfection...PERFECTION! Perfect crust, perfect sauce, amazing cheese and the pull was extraordinary. The pepperoni was good and the mushrooms were delicious. The seasoning in the sauce was really good, and I was thrilled that they supplied me with oregano to sprinkle all over my slices. I didn't even care how much it all was. It was worth it! I can't wait to have it all again. Saw their wings and they looked FIRE! Well done 22nd Street Pizza!

Simple and delicious pizza!

On our visit to Newport we ordered pizza here twice for pick up. Super friendly service and ready to go in a flash! Small inside but definitely pizza parlor vibe for the seating area! We were pleasantly surprised by the size and price of their pizzas. Very fairly priced considering it's on the beach! Obviously we liked it as we came here twice in a few days! Order from here and stop worrying!

I first tried this spot last year and I've been coming ever since. I became a regular pretty much, when I visit the beach I have to order something lol the food is very very good you can taste the freshness. I can say the same about the service as well the employees treat customers with kindness also very welcoming. What I really like as well personally is the ambience and how small the place is lol it's a nice vibe especially at night. Will never stop coming here.

After fishing with my kids we wandered around for the right vibe and food and found it at 22nd Street Pizza. Excellent pizza for me and one of my twins. And then excellent wings for the other twin and me as well. I also appreciated the Hazy IPA on tap. Super nice guy at the counter and just all around excellent vibe and food. We will be back!

One of the worst pizza slices on record.

** This review is strictly for the pizza by the slice ** First off, I have 200+ Yelp reviews and this is only the second 2-star review I've written. I recognize the impact that negative reviews have on small businesses, but I felt this review was justified. My son finished surfing at Blackies and he wanted pizza. 22nd Street Pizza had excellent Yelp reviews and was a one-minute walk from our car. It was beautifully lit and full of patrons happily dining and enjoying their dinners. I saw a clear countertop display with pizza by the slice and I felt the tingles of a 5-star review in the making. My son ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni. I paid the $7.14 (very reasonable!) and I saw two depressing slices boxed and handed to us. Was the pizza going to get a little love in the oven? I guess not. Maybe, despite its lackluster appearance, it was fresh out of the oven?? Nope! The pizza was cold and less appetizing than a slice of pizza at a dodgy gas station mart or school cafeteria. Both slices were marred with large dough bubbles that had no cheese nor sauce. While the first third of the slice was mediocre, it was edible. The rest was literally (not figuratively!) inedible -- so hard you couldn't break it with your teeth! Desiccated and inflexible, unyielding to human teeth. It was so bad, I was tempted to walk back and ask for a refund -- something I've never done in my life. Thankfully, my son was in a post-surf bliss and in no mood for drama and he rapidly diffused the situation. He took two bites out of each slice, laughed hysterically at the worst pizza he had ever eaten, and posed for some photos before trashing the rest. We finished the evening with donuts (Seaside Donuts) and ice cream (Handel's), both which he rated 5-stars.

Last 2 pieces of Mary's Margherita didn't last long! 22nd street is the best!

Great pizza, & the owner Jerry is a fantastic guy! It's a win-win situation. you get great pizza and support an amazing local small business! 5 stars all the way

Went to New Port beach and was craving pizza! This is my second time here and it did not disappoint. We got our pizza within 20 minutes and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed our pizza on the beach. We would've ate inside but it's super busy and there was no more seating. I loved the ambiance of the pizza shop though as it felt so alive and energetic.

We had three slices of pepperoni pizza and loved that it was available by the slice, especially since we were hungry. They also offered other options like whole pizzas and calzones, plus beer. I liked the different combos available as well. The pizza was super delicious--well-seasoned and even better than expected. The customer service was great, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, it was a nice experience in a cute spot. I'd definitely come back!

The time walking in we found a table a little dirty however the gentleman was able to clean it up for us by the name of Christo. We ordered wings BBQ wings in 18-in large peso pizza in Italian chop family size with no garbanzo beans and three medium HI-C drinks Christo customer service was on point 4.5/5 Music 5/5 Cleanliness 3.8/5

Horrible pizza by the slice. DO NOT GET IT! Barely edible at most and before even ordering that sad slice in the like glass case, I thought it'd be at least reheated in the oven, but no. Disgusting and worse than the saddest slice at a 7-11 or the school cafeteria. Costco's $1.50 slice with a drink is like, gourmet in comparison. Another example of lazy Americans simply in business to rip off tourists and no pride AT ALL in their product. How this place is open is beyond me- but guessing the poor folks like us buy enough of their "food" keeps 'em open. Even the guy at the bar nearby laughed at our experience and agreed. No locals go there. Ugh!

The people in the counter were super sweet but the pizza was not flavorful or good. Would rate the pizza 3/10.

The caramel espresso martini was absolutely perfect--delicious, perfectly sweet, and exactly what I was hoping for. It definitely hit the spot. For dinner, I tried the chef's special: the fettuccine with scallops and mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing for me because it was very bland. I ended up adding salt just to bring out some flavor. The scallops themselves were seasoned well and tasted great, and both the scallops and the pasta were cooked perfectly. The sauce had a wonderful, creamy texture--it just lacked flavor. I think it could have benefited from something cheesy, tangy, peppery, or simply a little more seasoning. Even with that, I'm still giving this place five stars because the service was outstanding. They genuinely listened to my feedback about the meal and went above and beyond to make things right, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers. This was my first visit, and I definitely plan on coming back to try one of their signature dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant overall. I just wouldn't recommend the scallop fettuccine based on my experience. Thank you all for making my solo dinner such a pleasant one!

You can see the oil sitting right on top which honestly is exactly how a good pepperoni slice should look. Chewy was our pleasant waiter, very friendly and attentive. Fresh cold water when we sat down and a nice short easy menu to peruse and decide from. No frills, no uneasy decisions. Simple greatness is all that's needed. I'm guessing every table gets the Caesar salad, which was a botttomless pile of fresh lettuce, tons of delicately grated smoothe Parmesan cheese, delicate crumbles of breadcrumbs, with an absolutely decadent Caesar dressing - pleasantly spread throughout the whole entire plate of goodness. Next time I will try the fresh loaf of bread sliced thick with a bowl of cherry tomatoes. Whoa that looked great. Every plate that walked by us whispered 'try me' next time!! Saved the salami Calabrese pizza for home directions on the box which provided the most perfect texture for a reheated pizza we've ever had. Delightful! The pizza. The crust. I can't even believe a whole table while we were eating there skipped the crust of the whole pie. You can't! That's a sin! Greatest sourdough pizza, dare I say delicate but hearty? Perfectly crisp yet soft where it's necessary. I can't wait to try more flavors. Such an adorable place at 'the Camp' -quaint yet plenty of seating outside too for a larger party. It's all you need for a perfect slice of heaven! Thank you Folks! We will definitely be back!

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would…read more We had an 8:30 p.m. reservation for three people, but only two of us ended up coming. For some reason, that became an issue because they weren't sure where to seat us in case our third person showed up later--even though we repeatedly told them not to worry about it. As soon as we sat down, our waiter told us the kitchen would be closing soon and asked if we had any questions because we needed to order quickly. He even told us we had two minutes left to place our order. Since we knew the kitchen was closing, I ordered a pizza to go at the same time as the rest of our meal so it would be ready when we finished eating. We ordered the bread and labneh, wings, and three pizzas. The bread and labneh was the only thing we genuinely enjoyed. The wings had such a bad smell that we boxed them up immediately without eating them. The pizzas were disappointing as well--burnt, with toppings that didn't taste fresh. To make matters worse, our two dine-in pizzas came out at different times. After we finished eating, paid our bill, and packed our leftovers, we waited for the to-go pizza that had been ordered when we first sat down. We were repeatedly told, "Just three more minutes." Then someone else explained there was a "cooling process" for the pizza and that's why there was a delay. At that point, we had already finished our meal, paid, and were simply sitting around waiting for an order that should have been ready. I asked to speak with a manager. A staff member walked over to who I assumed was the manager, and from where I was standing I could clearly see them talking about my daughter and me through the window. Eventually, a very kind employee came over, apologized, and politely explained the pizza process again but it didn't change the fact that we were still waiting. At this point I left informed enough about process that I can just go back to the kitchen and prepare my pizza. She also told us the manager was busy on the phone handling another situation. Based on how the evening had gone, I wasn't surprised. When the manager finally came over, we explained everything. His response was simply that it's normal for a pizza to take 30 minutes or more. I reminded him that I had intentionally ordered it when we placed our dinner order because we had been told the kitchen was closing in two minutes. I even had text messages to my son showing I had asked him what he wanted before placing the order. He then insisted the kitchen closed at 9:30, despite the fact that we had watched the kitchen being cleaned and shut down around 9:00. He showed absolutely no concern, offered no apology, and seemed genuinely confused about why I was upset after waiting 30-40 minutes for a pizza that should have been prepared while we were eating. I told him I wasn't going to argue with someone who couldn't see the problem. I let him know I'd be sharing my experience online and asked for his name. He proudly replied, "Logan," and seemed to welcome the review. Restaurants earn repeat customers through great food, great service, or ideally both. Unfortunately, this place delivered neither. Aside from the bread and labneh, the food was poor, the customer service was even worse, and the manager's complete lack of accountability was the final disappointment. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I also added photos to depicting the burnt crust hence the cooling process from the torching of the pizza and the basil that looked fried as well Mind you this is not our first time eating pizza out but definitely the last time at Folks!! As far as Logan and his handling of the situation he needs to go back to being a server, or take some hospitality training or fired!! I also want to note the smell of the chicken , I noticed other customers mentioned weird smell of the food. I think the food and health organization should be informed about their kitchen Hopefully this review will save people from going to this restaurant that really doesn't care or believe in customer service! I can't imagine this place lasting much longer. It's definitely a one time and never again experience!! Also please note this was not about wanting anything back I had already paid and packed. So we were not expecting a credit or anything but maybe some kind words and an apology instead of the humiliation we received and the training on mediocre pizza making.
