We had a wonderful dining experience. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Although the restaurant doesn't typically allow substitutions, he reassured us that if we didn't enjoy our dish, he would gladly have it removed from the bill, which really showed his commitment to customer satisfaction. The atmosphere was lovely, with beautiful waterfront views that made the meal even more enjoyable. The food was delicious across the board. We enjoyed fresh, beautifully prepared salads, flavorful pasta, and excellent pizza. For dessert, we ordered the coconut tiramisu. While it was tasty, it was more reminiscent of a cheesecake than a traditional tiramisu since it lacked the classic coffee flavor. Overall, the outstanding service, great food, and picturesque setting made for a memorable meal.
My husband, daughter and I recently came for dinner and we had the best time at Skal. The Lido area is so charming and it was fun to sit and watch the boats and enjoy absolutely amazing food. The carrots were a great starter and my daughter thought they were the absolute best way to eat carrots. The pizzas were both so delicious and we can't wait to come back for another round. The staff were so friendly and patient as we struggled to makeup our minds. And their recommendations were exactly what we were looking for. This place is truly the best pizza around.
This was my second visit to Skal and it won't be the last! Not only do I love the location of this place but the food and service is great too! And I love that they have gluten free options, which are marked on the menu. I got the Artichoke and White Sauce pizza - modified to be gluten free. It was very good although I'm not entirely sure I'm a big artichoke fan, but if you are you will probably love this! My friend got the Spinach and Pesto pasta and loved it! We finished off dinner with the Caramelized Banana which was so good and our only complaint being that we wished there was more banana. Overall, we had a great experience and we can't wait to come back very soon!
Added to my favorites list! Loved it here - simply put, the food was yummy, restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing, and it was right on the marina. This place is a bit hidden, so you could easily miss it. It's on the marina side of Lido so you need to use the boardwalk to access. Bring your parking ticket if you parked in the structure. They validate but no more than a couple hours. Blueberry lavender lemonade was delicious and fresh - not too sour. Kale Caesar was good but i wish they would have softened the kale and dressed the salad more. Was a bit bitter and tough. Pizza was yummy and I loved the options for toppings. Will be back!

We were sat down about 30 mins after our reservation but kinda understandable given Mother's Day although the hostess told us that they had a 90min limit. The servers weren't particularly happy except the Latina one. We had their spicy chorizo and pineapple pizza (4/5) peperoni with pineapple pizza (3/5) we also had the kale Caesar that came with a big dome of baked cheese. Looked great but was 3/5. Carrots were good and nicely presented (5/5), saffron miso pasta (2/5) flavorless for a dish with two spices in that name and ratatouille with side of chicken (2/5). You are here basically for the view.
Tried Skal Pizza with a group recently and had a really solid experience overall, with a few standout items. We ordered the regular cheese pizza, a butternut squash and sage pizza, a kale Caesar salad, and a pepperoni pizza with added sausage and mushrooms. My favorite was actually the pepperoni with added sausage and mushrooms--it had great flavor, really savory and well balanced, and the toppings just worked really well together without feeling too heavy. The table next to us asked what we ordered and I think that this combo would be a great addition to the menu! I also really enjoyed the regular cheese pizza. It was simple, but in a fresh, homemade way. The kale Caesar salad was another highlight for me. It felt fresh and well dressed, and it was a nice contrast to all the pizza. I'd definitely order it again. The butternut squash and sage pizza was the one I wasn't a big fan of. It was quite sweet, more than I expected, and I personally didn't love that.

The menu is small, but when the food is good you don't need to overcomplicate things. Parking is difficult. There is a lot that the restaurant will validate for you, but it's only 90 minutes. The lot fills up fast, but they do have valet. Kale caesar: The parmesan crisp over the top was fun to crack into - literally. I thought it was really good, but honestly, it was more fun with the crisp that you have to crack on top to get to the salad beneath. Spicy chicken sausage: This was the highlight of the meal. It's a white sauce pizza with mildly spicy chicken sausage. If you can't handle spice, don't worry, it's not very spicy. The tomatoes (which there could be much more of) tampers down the spice. But it's very tasty. If I were to come back, I would definitely order this pizza again.
Cute spot for pizza and drinks with a view of Newport Harbor! They've got both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can bring your dog. Outdoor seating has patio heaters as well. Most pizzas are in the $20-ish range but if you add meat to it like I did, it can hit closer to $30. It was a little pricier than I would've liked, but the artichoke pizza with prosciutto did taste really good and the view is nice, so I'd still recommend the spot.
The pizza was decent. It wasn't the best. It was a little bit oily. We did a takeout so possibly that could be why it wasn't as hot and fresh as it probably would be if you were to sit down in the restaurant so I think we probably will try to give it another go and sit down in the restaurant I just feel sometimes takeout can be so iffy

It's probably not the best situated place in that complex of restaurants because it's on the far end next to a wall (compared to Malibu farm which is open on both sides). I loved the avocado pizza and saffron miso pasta. both were surprisingly very light and refreshing. The pineapple chorizo pizza was a bit heavy for my liking. Overall, this is a great date spot, well-priced and with an ideal ambiance.
It was freezing outside so we requested an inside table. The place is tiny but they gave us their booth in the rear of the restaurant. It was roomy and we were very appreciative. To start, we got the kale caesar and the wedge salad along with the meatballs and fire-roasted zucchini - nothing disappointed! The big ole "bowl" of cheese on top of the kale salad was a crowd pleaser. For entrees, we ordered the pineapple and Spanish chorizo pizza, the tomato pizza with nduja added, the saffron and miso pasta with nduja added and the pepperoni pizza with spicy sausage added. The pizzas were all well made, reminiscent of Neapolitan style. The pasta was also super delicious. For dessert, we got the lemon tiramisu as well as the caramelized bananas. Both were good but the bananas were out of this world. Who knew the humble nanner can be elevated to heights such as this! Hubby definitely enjoyed it. Everyone was super pleasant and the food came out at a nice clip. Definitely a place to return to. Check it out!

Skål Pizza is one of our favorite spots in Newport Beach. The pizza is always great--especially the crust, which totally makes the whole thing. Toppings are super fresh and a little different from the usual places, so the flavors feel unique in the best way. Our go‑tos: the spicy chicken pizza, the seasonal snap peas salad, ratatouille salad, and the grilled carrots (just keep them crunchy!). Their seasonal salads and pasta options are always fun to try. Service is consistently good, and Caleb was amazing--super attentive, friendly, and just great hospitality all around. And of course, the waterfront location is perfect. Great food, great vibe, great view. read more
Skal Pizza is a cutie little pizza shop on the water that serves up some tasty food. We were seated promptly for our Saturday night rez and our service was spot on the entire night. We started with their kale salad and arugula salad; both of which were great. We then had their saffron miso pasta, pineapple and spanish chorizo pizza, spicy chicken sausage and the bbq corn pizza. The pineapple chorizo was easily the standout and we devoured it. Not too spicy and the pineapple was thinly sliced, which I loved. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area and craving some good pizza. read more

An amazing pizza spot that also has great pasta dishes. This is located in Lido and you're able to make RSVP through the website. There's limited tables for outdoor seating and a large community table with some bar seats indoors. With a RSVP, we still had to wait for a party outside to finish up, before being seated. I'm not sure if today was understaffed but we ordered the cucumber ginger lemonade and was told, one glass would taste different because it was made the day before? It was an odd thing to say after we already noticed one was regular lemonade and didn't have the same coloring as the other glass. Loved the pepperoni and spicy chicken sausage pizza. We decided to try the artichoke one. It got a bit tiring but was unique and still worth trying, if you share it with a couple of people. The star of the show is definitely the saffron miso pasta. We had an amazing experience at SKAL Pizza! My friend was visiting from Seattle and absolutely loved it and she's already talking about coming back. Kaleb gave phenomenal service; his energy, friendly personality, recommendations and attentiveness made the visit even better. The food was incredible across the board. We ordered the grilled carrots were phenomenal, the avocado pizza with chicken it was delicious, the Caesar kale salad was so good with a Parmesan crust bowl on top and the banana dessert was the perfect finish. We also ordered a strawberry basil smash & Fremont IPA. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We also loved the atmosphere, sitting right by the water with beautiful views of the boats. All the staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. We will definitely be back! read more

Tonight was my 2nd visit to Skal pizza! Our server was amazing. Super sweet, kind, and helpful! I offered the cucumber mint lemonade and was a little disappointed by how sweet it was...I was hoping it would be a little more tart. But, I absolutely love the bottles the lemonades come in, with the cute green and white straw. It is such a fun vibe! The last time at Skal I had the butternut squash and basil pizza and that was amazing! This time, I went with the charred wedge salad and I was surprised by how small it was. I'm thinking it was a 1/4 of a head of lettuce. It had a lot more dill than I'd prefer, but it was still very tasty! My friend got the kale cesar and I'd recommend that for sure - especially because of the crispy Parmesan topping! I finished the meal off with the coffee tiramisu and it was just ok for me. It was more like a parfait with layers of crème and sponge cake. I sadly didn't taste much espresso or coffee. Despite a few missed opportunities as mentioned, I still really enjoy this location and they have a lot of really unique choices. I can't wait to come back and try a pasta next! read more

My friend asked me to meet up at SKAL Pizza, and I'm glad I did , it turned out to be a lovely afternoon with delicious food and a fantastic view. We chose to sit outside, right by the water. The weather was perfect, and the fresh ocean breeze made the experience even more enjoyable. There were also some beautiful yachts nearby, adding to the relaxing coastal vibe. I ordered the Pineapple & Spanish Chorizo Pizza $23 to eat at the restaurant, and also got a Pepperoni Pizza $23 to go. Both pizzas were delicious , full of flavor and clearly made with quality ingredients. The crust was crispy, yet still had that nice chewy texture that makes a great pizza. The portions were a bit small for the price. Each pizza was just enough for one person, so $23 felt a little pricey. But considering the premium location in Newport Beach, the price makes sense Our server was very friendly and cheerful, which made the experience even better. One downside was the parking , it was quite difficult to find a spot. read more

We tried this place for our anniversary. I put in the reservation that we wanted a water front spot for our anni, and called the day before to make sure they saw that, and then we didn't get a water front spot. They let us wait for one though, so we ended up moving. The pizza and carrots were great! The saffron pasta was room temp and lacked flavor, I'd definitely pass on that. The googamuck beer was great, and our waitress Sadie was AMAZING! She was so friendly. Overall, the view was great but I'd go to Ospi over Skale. The menu is similar, but Ospi (where we went for anni last year) experience was way better, and the food is leaps and miles beyond Skal. They also made our anni feel special, gave us mini champagne when we got there (Ospi) read more

Fast and friendly service. The pesto pineapple pizza was amazing. Came out so quickly. The cheese was so gooey. It was an interesting flavor profile that felt fresh. I would definitely come back and try their other pizzas on the menu, which also looked amazing. We also tried the roasted carrot appetizer which was to die for. The Labna dip with the spicy sauce drizzled on top was amazing. The carrots come in a big bundle like they were fresh from the farmers market. Great spot for date night! Skäl Pizza is located at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach and serves wood-fired pizzas. It's tucked away in the back facing the water with outdoor seating and some indoor counter space. There is a parking structure and the restaurant validates parking for up to an hour. We ordered the pepperoni pizza ($23), pineapple & spanish chorizo pizza ($23), and housemade meatballs with crostini ($15). The pepperoni was classic but we enjoyed the pineapple & spanish chorizo more. It was sweet from the green hot honey and pineapple, spicy from the jalapeño, and herbaceous from the micro cilantro. It was a unique combination of flavors I haven't had on a pizza. The meatballs were very flavorful and one of the better meatballs I've had. For drinks we ordered the passionfruit lemonade ($8) which was refreshing. Along with pizzas they also serve pasta, sandwiches, and salads. They also have happy hour during the weekday from 2pm to 5pm. It's a nice lunch or date spot with good views of the water in a chill environment. read more
What a very pleasant experience to have a pizza and a drink by the water. The restaurant is small and intimate, they have a full bar, and their pizza is delicious! The flavor of the butternut squash and sage pizza was simply divine. The combination of ingredients is a must-try if you like butternut squash. I've never had one and I am hooked on this one. Friendly staff and very cozy ambience inside. Parking was easy and there are plenty of meters nearby. We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu. Killer view!! read more

Extremely mediocre pizza. Came here with high hopes after a bunch of my Yelp friends sang high praises about it but was left feeling meh about it. Waited forrrevvverrrrr for one pizza and one pasta to arrive, and it definitely got much less busy after we sat down at 2PM, so it wasn't an issue of the kitchen being backed up. The food was definitely not worth the wait. The Saffron miso pasta was very oily with not much taste to it, and the Pineapple & spicy chorizo pizza was quite "wet" (not sure if it was because of oil or from the pineapple juice). We were seated and greeted right away upon our arrival on a Sunday afternoon. Our view was pretty nice since we were facing the harbor. I'm wasn't a huge fan of the dishes(only because I don't really like pizza/Italian food), but my brother loved all of it. The saffron miso pasta didn't have much flavor. A very popular date night spot with views of the waterfront! We went on a Friday night and were seated outside right away, but they do take reservations. We ordered the butternut squash pizza and the miso pasta. Service was a little awkward - not sure if they were training but two staff members took our order. Food was also pretty slow and took a bit of time to arrive. The butternut squash pizza was hot and fresh but was on the sweeter side from the squash. The saffron miso pasta didn't really taste like saffron or miso and just tasted creamy and cheesy. Overall, food was alright and not really anything memorable but the views are definitely nice! read more
Great food accompanied by less than great service here at Skal. Made a reservation for the dining room but our party of 4 was seated in the alleyway behind the restaurant. It was between 20-30 minutes before anybody came to take drink/food orders from us as well as offer to turn on the heater while we were sitting there quite cold until then. After taking drink orders our server informed us that we had been given the wrong menu (and looking at it for the past 30 minutes) and she would be getting us a "much smaller" menu. Prices on the new menu were about $3 more expensive per item as well. Not a great look here. Our food was brought before we were given silverware or napkins and had to wait on those as well. 10/10 to the kitchen because the food was delicious. We liked the unique pineapple pizza and miso pasta had a great sauce. Pepperoni pizza was good but more of your classic on that one and nothing special or different. Hard to tell if I would come back here because the service was lacking but the food was good. read more
I really enjoyed my experience here! It's tucked in Lido, making the location very cute and inviting. I found that both their outdoor and indoor seating offers the perfect vibe to catch up with friends and loved ones. The food is really good too, reasonably portioned for the price, and top tier ingredients/quality. My personal favorite off the menu was their pineapple and Spanish chorizo pizza! Very flavorful and well balanced. Service can be a little slow from time to time but not really a huge issue in my opinion. read more

Ah! Wow what a find! Other than the horrible parking that is the Peninsula :( This place is such a gem. Stunning view right on the dock/water next door to amazing places you could stay here for hours. Ordered the Arugula and Seasonal Fruit Salad- pears were the fruit and wow did we devour this salad. Perfectly naturally sweet and light. The avocado pizza was delicious, not too heavy but all perfectly filling. The jalapeño ricotta was so delicious. For drinks, we got the cucumber mint lemonade & the iced söder tea (an english breakfast with notes of florals and fruits). The tea was very floral but calming, and the lemonade was great and sweet! I will be coming back very soon! read more
Adding dessert, pizza and salad review: Arugula with pears, candied pecans and fig balsamic is my new favorite salad. The strawberry budino is more like a more like a creamy touched jello. Vs a full on creamy budino, but has a delicious sweet strawbeery purée on it with coconut whipped cream. Lemon tiramisu is like a lemon shortcake. It bursts with lemon flavor and is delicious. Butternut squash pizza is Devine. Rich with vegan Gouda and touched with spicy agave. Oh and that crispy sage Mushroom and Kalamata olive pizza is earthy. read more

We randomly picked a restaurant for a late lunch / early dinner while in the area and picked Skal based on Yelp reviews and their location on the water. Pizza - We tried the Pineapple Chorizo and the Spicy Chicken Sausage and both were really good. The Pineapple Chorizo was sweet and spicy and very different than your usual pineapple pizza. The Chicken Sausage pizza was a white pizza base and was also very flavorful. Great crust and wood-fired pizza char taste. Pasta - We tried the Saffron Miso pasta. Opted to not add any proteins because we were already splitting 2 pizzas, too. It looked so good in the Yelp photos we had to order a dish to try. Tasted like butter noodles kicked up a notch. Drinks - We opted for their Raspberry Orange lemonade, which was flavored with house-made syrups. It was really good and not overly sweet. So good, we had them add a 2nd drink to our order - the Passionfruit lemonade. Parking - we opted for parking on one of the side streets. 2 Hour parking was $5, a lot cheaper than we were expecting. There is a structure nearby but it was full. The restaurant validates 1 hour for the parking structure. If we lived nearby, we would definitely be coming back as regulars!
