Pasta & Meatballs with a side of ricotta cheese and their fantastic bread from c'est si bon
    Madison L.

I'm updating this review so hopefully it gets pushed to the top and this fantastic restaurant shows up in your recommended. We love this family owned business (shoutout to Maria and her three sons Andy, Daniel, and Christian for managing three restaurants) Absolutely loved our time here on Sunday night. Vibes were cozy and our lovely server Carson was so sweet and thoughtful! He was very attentive and helped us with multiple rounds of complementary bread and their delicious bianca diavolo garlic dipping sauce and he also gave us great recommendations for what to order. I had the classic pasta and meatballs with angel hair and a side of ricotta cheese. Mom ordered the chicken alla checca also with angel hair and dad ordered a gluten free pasta gianni with red sauce. We had the sauteed mushroom appetizer and ended with a delectable cookie dough cheesecake that will most likely end up as heartburn tonight. Thanks everyone please consider going here if you're in the newport area:)

Food was so good. The side salad came with the pasta entree and was served first. They added fresh ground pepper at the table. One of the best Italian dressed salads I've had in a while. The Pasta Tombrello was also fantastic. Had it made with mild spice and I love it. Will order again. The service was also great! Friendly and attentive. Excited to go back!

Can I say "Buon Motto"! The food is so yummy, large portions, packed with flavor and the red sauce is delicious! Ordered the meatballs to start. Followed by pasta Tombrello, sautéed mushrooms and lemon cheesecake. Pasta is al dente, surrounded by sausage, mushroom, parm and a slight pepper kick. The cheesecake was one of the best I've ever had. It was light, airy, not too lemony. The star was the butter cake sitting under the thick layer of cheesecake. Sooooooo Good!!! Pietra is incredible. Friendly, knowledgeable, fun, hospitable and on top of everything. Can't wait to come back!

The caramel espresso martini was absolutely perfect--delicious, perfectly sweet, and exactly what I was hoping for. It definitely hit the spot. For dinner, I tried the chef's special: the fettuccine with scallops and mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing for me because it was very bland. I ended up adding salt just to bring out some flavor. The scallops themselves were seasoned well and tasted great, and both the scallops and the pasta were cooked perfectly. The sauce had a wonderful, creamy texture--it just lacked flavor. I think it could have benefited from something cheesy, tangy, peppery, or simply a little more seasoning. Even with that, I'm still giving this place five stars because the service was outstanding. They genuinely listened to my feedback about the meal and went above and beyond to make things right, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers. This was my first visit, and I definitely plan on coming back to try one of their signature dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant overall. I just wouldn't recommend the scallop fettuccine based on my experience. Thank you all for making my solo dinner such a pleasant one!

We called ahead of time to let the restaurant know of the party number change and the hostess noted it. When we arrived at the hostess stand, both hostesses did not acknowledge or greet us. When they finally acknowledged us (they were gossiping the entire time), they were rude, short, and bothered. They told us to wait a minute while they set up the table; the hostess came back and asked if it was 5. We told her we called and changed to 3 and she did not know what we were talking about. Therefore they did not have a table ready for us inside and stuck us outside. We complied and accepted the outdoor table. Next, the worker who was bringing out the food was extremely rude. We were working on our first appetizer and she said "are you done with that or not?" We put the last of it on our plates and said she could take it. She rolled her eyes at us and grabbed the plate. While grabbing it, her arms rubbed my wine glass and where I sip from. She looked at me, made a bothered face, and walked away. I have never been to a restaurant with such rude service. We also had an unfortunate circumstance while dining and one of our party members needed to go to the Urgent Care. She was having extreme chest pain and shortness of breath. We asked the staff to bring to go boxes and the check due to this emergency. They moved very slowly and did not give a care in the world despite our urgency. We will not be dining here again. I hope they train their staff on manners, service, and hospitality. The two stars are for the apps we were able to try: artichoke and eggplant. Our actual server also decent but still lacked a sense of urgency. It is obviously not the staffs fault that we were in that situation, but they treated us like they couldn't wait to get us out to serve the next table.

I don't love tomatoe sauces but their VODKA dipping sauce was delicious and worth putting on almost every bite. MEATBALLS were a nice boost of protein and very flavorful and tender. A great contrast to the carb overload ahead of us. The CHEESE BREAD was also buttery and crispy but a bit over priced. The SPICY VODKA pasta truly had perfectly cooked doughy pasta that made me appreciate the freshness paired with that incredible sauce, definitely a must try. The BOLOGNESE was good with very fresh pasta but not my favorite dish as I found it dryer and a bit underwhelming in flavor. The pizza was tasty with a super thin crust I'd say it's lighter than expected. The CANOLI for dessert was surprisingly delicious with a light creamy whipped interior and a crispy shell. As a non canoli lover it definitely changed my perspective. Found free PARKING in the backlot which was a nice surprise. Pro tip add in a sparkling water around the time of the entree to boost that good old digestive system. Good authentic popular local spot, just a bit pricey for smaller portions.

If possible and if the weather is nice, I'd recommend sitting at their outside tables. We shared 3 items: the vodka pizza, the tagliatelle (bolognese) and the meatballs. Was not the biggest fan of the bolognese. The flavor was falling flat so I tried to add more parmesan but it made no difference for me. Really loved the meatballs! The texture was perfect and it was not dry. The pizza was the best out of the 3. Enjoyed the thin crust and the flavor of it! It does have a kick but i added more red peppers to make it a bit spicier. Overall, I would recommend it for a nice little lunch with friends/family. Will have to come back and try the dinner menu :)

The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture. The spaghetti has a "bite" that you get from a true "al dente" pasta. Their cheese tortellini were incredibly rich and cheesy, but a touch salty. The drawback of this location is that it's a ghost kitchen. You order it online and the order will be ready for you when you come in to pick it up. The location does not have seating, and you eat it at your own convenience. If you live/work locally, then this can be definitely worth checking out. Because I live out of town, I have to enjoy it either in my car, after a long drive home, or at my wife's office; however, I want to enjoy these $20 pastas in a restaurant, with wine and good company. A ghost kitchen is very different than a restaurant experience. I hope they do choose to bring their restaurant to the OC one day.

It was my first time going there, so it's good to know in advance that there are cones set up where you can only enter on Rochester and only exit on Newport (at least that was the case when I went in Oct 2025). Tiny parking lot may be hectic during prime times. There's a touchscreen right inside the front doors where I entered my order info. I then was instructed to check a specific locker right around the corner to pick up my order. My order was ready on time and the food tasted great, but I don't recall the last time I was this upset about the quantity for the price. I ordered four different pasta dishes for an insane $88 as of Oct 2025. The servings were tiny. I probably could've eaten all 4 dishes myself and not even felt sick from overeating. I'll boldly state that if you're an average adult, you will not even be remotely full from one of their offerings. To charge that much for providing so little is criminal.

None of us had been before, and we've honestly been talking about it ever since. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is awesome. The hostess was welcoming, our server was fantastic, and the whole place has a fun, energetic vibe without feeling over the top. We ordered three appetizers to share, and every one of them was excellent. The burrata was incredibly fresh, the warm bread with olive oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal, and the saffron meatballs were the standout. The short rib stuffed meatballs were absolutely incredible. For our entrees, we ordered five different dishes so everyone could try a little of everything. The lasagna was my favorite, followed closely by the carbonara and the gnocchi. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and cooked perfectly. Since it was our birthday celebration, we couldn't skip dessert. The giant affogato with hazelnut and pistachios was unbelievable and the perfect way to end the meal. What really made the night special, though, was Domenico. He recommended both food and drinks, personally brought each dish to our table, remembered our names, and made us feel like guests in his home instead of customers in a restaurant. The chef even came out to say hello, which was another great touch. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food is this good and the hospitality is even better. This was a true 10/10 experience from start to finish. We'll absolutely be back, and The Red Room has officially earned a spot on our regular restaurant rotation. Highly recommend.
