The "fish" was crispy seasoned so well and even had great mouth feel. She somehow had seaweed attached that really gave you the fish essence. The gumbo was incredibly textured like a meat gumbo would be. I can't tell you exactly what was used but there was a veggie in there with the texture of chicken, sausage, shrimp, and crab. The seasonal aisle is ALWAYS on point and has great deals for things like Halloween or Valentine's Day candy. This location also has one of the only Fresh Pet refrigerators in the area. It's usually heavily stocked with fresh foods and snacks for cats and dogs (at a better price than Pet Supplies Plus). The thing I love most about this store, is that it is super neighborhood centered and provides a great option for people who live nearby but have no transportation, or a hard time getting around to major grocery stores. The shopping cart, used by the cashier, is only accessible from one side as it is blocked-off on 3-sides. This means the shopper checking-out has the dual task of backing out the shopping cart with paid merchandise, then placing the shopping cart used for shopping in place of the removed cart as directed by the cashier. I think they do this to prevent other shoppers from taking the shopping cart, that is to be used for checked-out merchandise away to shop with. I only had 3-items and the cashier did not simplify and speed things up for me by not allowing me to place the recently paid for items in the shopping cart that I used for shopping, as his thought process was to start ringing-up items for the customer behind me. Very awkward and inconvenient for me as a shopper. Perhaps they do this to prevent derelicts from taking the cart away to get the 25-cents coin in the shopping cart coin slot.
